The K Club is fantastic, plain and simple! Two brilliant and quite different courses. The Ryder Cup will test any golfer but it's a fair and really fun course to play. The Smurfit course is a brilliantly laid out track with the Sugarloaf as your backdrop. A lovely, winding and hilly test. Both courses are really well manicured and both are worth playing. The hotel and resort is a superb 5 star experience. Well trained and friendly staff, beautiful grounds and a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Terrible, have been a customer here for years.
I wasn't happy with the drink I was served, more or less told tough.
Unfortunately I will not be going back.
On the basis of this experience. One star is too many.

Stunning grounds and extreamly nice staff.. food over priced for what it is.. had afternoon tea. It was 1 of the most expensive afternoon teas we've had but unfortunately also 1 of the most disappointing. Also ordered room service of a margarita pizza, portion of fries and two soft drinks. The portion of fries were tiny! Plus it was 56!!
Beautiful hotel, fantastic staff but food is extreamly overpriced for the quality.

Really nice course, I found out a little hard to navigate my way around the front 9 not having played here before. I thought the back 9 was the better of the two. Lots of water and fairly long par 3's. The eighteenth is a great finishing hole. The clubhouse and car park could do with a little work. Starting to age a little. Overall, looking forward to coming back.

It's a luxurious hotel nestled on manicured lawns. It is a true red 5 star hotel property.
It has amazing period style features, hand painted wall paper, beautiful rooms and amazing service. The staff, especially the dinner staff, are exceptional and professional.
The golf club and golf course is one of the best on the world.
Some hotels claim to be 5 star, few actually are. The K Club definitely is.

Given this place is up for sale you would think they would make a tiny effort.

We arrived for lunch but actually it's hard to have lunch here. Having walked back and forth about 3 times we were eventually told where we could eat. God forbid if anyone would show us the way. The menu in this 5 star establishment is sandwiches! The 20 Club sandwich was pathetic...industrial white bread, bacon not eaten at breakfast, half a tomato, something which pretends it was part of a chicken and dried out lettuce, that was it, no mayo, nothing and yes 20.00. It must have cost 40c to make.

Dinner in the "Fine Dining" Restaurant wouldn't have been awful if it was half the price, as such it was awful. Overall the food was poor. Not sure which was worse, the 90 a head menu with 6 of the 8 options all having supplements of + 15. But actually my main gripe was paying nearly 400 for dinner for 2, including 1 bottle of the house wine while having to endure a rock band playing on the other side of some wooden sliding doors ensuring my only memory of the night was my whole body vibrating throughout my " 400 Fine Dining" experience. This is disgraceful from a supposed 5 star hotel.

Our bedroom was nice, we stayed in the new wing. Thankfully we didn't have to endure the musty smell of damp in the rest of the hotel which together with the frayed carpets give the impression of a crumbling mess.

Trip to the SPA and pool requires 1 km walk from the new wing, through reception and then ends with a 200 metre walk outside in the freezing cold.

Reception is dark and dreary. Given we were there 14th December you would have expected some cheer but they didn't even turn the lights on.

We had 4 attempts to check in. Each time we were given a time to come back, each time we came back they said it wasn't ready.

A disaster of a hotel.

Service outstanding, excellent rooms which are really not that expensive by US standards. Great choice and quality of restaurant fare, but exceptionally pricy. Tastiest and most variety of breakfast fare I have encountered in a while.

And then there is the golf . . .

Great course, accomodations and service. Played 72 holes here for my friends bachelor party and couldn't have had a better time. Look forward to going back here for a repeat trip in a few years. Definitely get a caddy as they will help you understand not just the course but how to play in the rain and wind.

A wonderful hotel and excellent services for people with mobility issues such as wheelchair users. Hence the 5star rating. Keep up the great work all at the K Club - your service was very very good hence 5 stars.

Fabulous hotel. Nice food. Very pleasant staff. Downside, it's very expensive. But that's to be expected being the k club. Also the spa and swimming pool are a 3-4 minute walk from hotel. Otherwise great.

Stayed for my Mum's Birthday, over Easter weekend for one night. I was surprised to find that the decor and main hotel is quite dated none of the art correlated to one another, old distressed hallway rugs lined the path to the extension building we were staying in.

The room we were allocated was one of the top annex style rooms with only one sash window opening 3 inches to allow air to circulate the room. It was a unexpected warm Easter weekend, I asked guest services if we could have a fan for the room as there wasn't any aircon. We didn't receive any fans, and found 4 of them in a cleaning cupboard on our departure.

Our sleep was interrupted by a loud guest from America who we could hear all through the night on the phone. This was due to the thin connected door between the two rooms.

The guest service was intermittent and lacked care and attention. Food was without fault we booked the K thai restaurant which was lovely, a short trip with one of their minibuses, the driver was knowledgeable and friendly telling us the history of the grounds. Breakfast was also outstanding. We visited the swimming pool facilities which is three buildings away from the main hotel, a nice way of viewing the other accommodation available. Unfortunately the steam room was broken when we arrived, which was a shame.

All in all an average stay but not at all worthy of a 5 star rating, does not live up to its reputation which is a pity.

Played the Palmer course last week and it was a really tough but fair challenge. If your not straight you've to take your medicine and move on. Well maintained and good looking track , only downside was that some of the fairways were very soft but food nice in clubhouse too

From arrival to departure our K Club experience was 5 star throughout - with staff in all departments ensuring we were given a first class service.
Our 1 night package resulted in a beautiful 1st floor room (39) and then a 3 course dinner in the hotel restaurant followed next morning by a truly impressive breakfast ranging from continental to a traditional Irish ...the choices were great.
After dinner we decided to try a local pub in Straffan to which the hotel supplied transport there and back ( great service ) we also sampled cocktails in the hotel ( superb ).
We would like to mention one member of staff who showed great customer service in the restaurant ( Martin ) who ensured our dining experience would be memorable.
After breakfast we walked through the hotel grounds which are beautiful and enjoyed riverside views.
Thank you to Audrey and her team for a night to remember.
Finally , would we return to the K Club .......without question YES !!
Thanks you to all concerned.

We spent an evening at this beautiful hotel celebrating our friends 60th Birthday. The staff, food, facilities and rooms were second to none. I would certainly recommend to friends and would love to stay again.
