JW Marriott Grand Rapids Review

Went to the J. W. Marriott to see some art for art prize. Nice friendly enviroment. Was very proffesionally cleaned as well. Would recommend if I knew it more better.

The wife and I stayed in a River View room on the 5th floor for our Anniversary. The view was gorgeous, we could see the river and blue bridge right from the comfort of our King Bed. Valet service was attentive and quick to retrieve our vehicle when needed. We utilized the pool, hot tub and the Steam rooms were awesome! They have a regular room and a eucalyptus steam room as well. This really helped clear up my stuffy nose. The location was awesome and we found ourselves visiting several bars that were all within walking distance.

Beautiful room. Exceptionally clean. Furnished very well and was welcoming. Staff always friendly and smiling. Room looked out over downtown and had a wonderful huge window letting in a lot of natural light.

Staff is always very helpful, rooms always clean, and views are always great!

Great staff, great view and very reasonable prices. I was offered a free upgrade upon arrival, and had a lovely room on the 22nd floor. Hotel is right in the city centre, so you can walk to almost anywhere you would like.

When we arrived we found that our reservation had been cancelled. This was a mistake by corporate, my husband canceled a room in December and they canceled this reservation too (Feb). Margaret at the front desk was so patient and helpful. I was stressed out and I m sure quite curt. She gave us a lovely room on the river with access to the VIP lounge. Margaret saved the day!

Went for a conference session in the International Ballroom. The venue is very professionally kept and a great place for an event like that. The building layout is somewhat confusing, and there aren't as many maps as I hoped there were.

I love The JW. Fantastic service and beautiful rooms.

Location and service has excellent. Enjoyed drinks alongside the gorgeous Grand River. Unfortunately the drinks were sub par. Notably the Mojito I ordered was terrible and they ran out of Jagermister.

Amazing room and view. The concierge lounge was very nice and the kids loved the pool. Close to everything downtown as well.

The JW Marriott hosted our GVSU scholarship dinner. It was a wonderful time, both the service and the food was excellent. The venue itself is also very nice and open.

Modern and sophisticated. Upbeat and awesome. Bartenders know what they are doing.

Stopped into the bar for a few drinks. All the staff were nice and friendly. That mixed with a beautiful atmosphere made for a great night!

Amazing views & quite luxury combined with an excellent conference rate made this the perfect stay in Grand Rapids. Easy walk to shops, restaurants & museums.

Waited an hour+ (still waiting) for a room. Asked for any room, it didn't matter. Apparently not a single room was ready. Do yourself a favor and walk over to the Amway.

The hotel was very clean and easy to get to. The only thing I didn't care for was the valet parking. All the parked cars were in front of the hotel not in a garage.

We had a great room with an awesome view. The staff was very helpful.

I live in SE GR, and decided to take my beautiful wife downtown for an overnight stay at the JW for an early valentine's treat. We stayed on the concierge floor with exellent amenities. The staff were so polite. Shout out to Matt Baker for providing outstanding service and really making our evening perfect while dining at the 616.

Beautiful hotel, you have your choice of River view rooms or City view rooms. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool with a hot tub and eucalyptus steam rooms. The rooms are of decent size, bathrooms have a jetted tub and a shower. The hotel restaurant six one six is modern yet cozy.

Awesome hotel in the heart of GR. Beautiful property, friendly staff, wonderful amenities. I'll be back.

Nice hotel, great staff. Not worth the price. If you have a beard, wear a three piece suit, and wear converse with said three piece suit this is for you. Food at the hotel is so overpriced. The rooms are nice, but a view of a mediocre city was still 300+ a night. My biggest pet peeves is spending money to show you have money, this is the place for that.

When you're in Grand Rapids one of the only places to stay. Not literally of course.

We stayed at the Marriott the for the night so we could go to The Nutcracker. We liked the tunnels that got us to the other building without going outside. The staff members were all very friendly. I loved our room which was right by the pool/hot tub/steam room. I LOVED the scented steam room. Do all Marriott' have those? The only complaint is that the bathroom counter was very narrow. Too narrow for 3 people that had a toiletry bag. I usually hang my bag, but there was nothing in the bathroom to hang it on. Hooks are always a good thing! Our bathing suits were wet and hooks to hang those somewhere would be good too.

JW Marriott is a beautiful place inside and out. I visited for art prize and got to see the place for the first time.

Great, clean rooms. Right on the river, which makes for a lovely backdrop for drinks, dinner, or just lounging in your room. It also smells wonderful (odd, but true).

Downtown Grand Rapids. The conference room was great. The bathroom was very clean.

We ate at the restaurant. Despite checking and making sure our large group was seated next to the windows, we were at the periphery of the restaurant. They offered free appetizers though and the food was good. The music was superb.

Absolutely fabulous hotel and staff is wonderful. Well worth the price!

Fantastic hotel and services in an ideal grand rapids location!

Excellent river view from the eleventh floor. This was my wife's and my first Valentine's Day weekend as a married couple, and the location and amazing room were perfect.

Gorgeous rooms with fantastic views. Very modern, clean and quiet. Keycards for elevator and floor access helps with noise and safety. Very walkable location - minutes to numerous shops, bars and restaurants. Sits right on the river and has immediate access to the river's trail. Hotel's restaurant food is surprisingly good and service was good.

I had to get out my car walk inside to request valet. No hosts for the dining area, again had to go back to lobby to request dining area service. My truffle fries were drenched in oil. The server did bring a desert on the house which was a nice gesture.

Still the nicest hotel in Grand Rapids. Does not feel quite as special now as the entire city has evolved and improved around it's once it was built.

So very loud.....it was a pity to spend so much on a nice room to be kept up by very loud partying until 5 am

Really nice hotel. Accommodations were great and what you would expect for a JW Marriott. Best thing about the hotel though was the smell in the lobby was wonderful and made it more enjoyable to return to the hotel every night.

Super pretty outside and in, great location. Friendly staff. Super clean. I only have it 4 stars due to parking. Would definitely stay again!

Jw Marriott was beautiful from the moment you walk through the spinning glass doors. The room over looked the river on the 13th floor, the view at night was even better watching all the light flicker across the city.
