Second door was a great place for appetizers and drinks. Nice atmosphere. Service was good. We had a work event in a back room. We didn't dine in the regular menu.
I don t like hotels that don t have a store for buying extra water, snacks etc... I asked for more water beyond what was in my room and was told they didn t have anymore. Really a whole hotel with not a single extra water bottle. My shampoos/bathroom
Accessories were not replenished so was not even able to shower my second morning . This hotel seems like it is barely running. I stay in JW Marriott s often and this one just does not meet the standard.
Awesome hotel and the hotel restaurant, second home, is amazing, especially for dessert
Very nice hotel in the heart of Cherry Creek. Valet service there too which is a must in this neighborhood
One of the best hotels in Denver, for a little extra you pay for amazing service and amazing rooms. Also try second home in the lobby. Amazing cocktails and atmosphere.
Second Home has quality food and drink in a good atmosphere.
This is a very difficult review to write. For the past 7 years we have been visiting our children in Denver. Since our children have settled in the Cherry Creek area we have enjoyed staying at the JW Mariott, Cherry Creek; we call it our home away from home in Denver. We have always enjoyed the pleasant staff, nice rooms and especially the use of the executive lounge. We have never minded paying extra for the use of the lounge. Many times I would sleep in (till 7:00 am) and my husband, would go to the lounge as soon as it opened with his computer and newspaper and work , eat and read the paper and enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains. I would join him around 8ish for a quick bite and we would plan our day with our children. In the evening we would stop by the lounge for a cookie or snack and a cup of coffee.
Imagine our disappointment upon our arrival this past weekend.
Stopping by Denver to see our children having just enjoyed the tennis matches at Indian Wells we were in for a major surprise. NO lounge. The stay at the hotel was a disaster. The lighting in the bathroom had changed it was very low (did you change the bulbs to lower watts to save money), to open the curtains we had to STAND on the couch, our rooms had turn down but towels were NOT replaced and there was only one dirty towel left in the bathroom (we had to call and ask for fresh towels) AND the two robes be had at the beginning of our stay we were down to one (the other was not dirty not sure why they took it).
Breakfast at HOME PLATE was also not pleasant. When we arrived we were told there was a large party being served and we could not be accommodated -we could eat at the bar or outside (brrrrr); my husband took a look inside and there were several empty tables. Of course ordering, serving and WAITING for a check took a while. (This is why we loved the lounge grab a bite and go).
We ordered room service the next morning. At every hotel we have stayed at over the many years of traveling (in the US and around the world) our breakfast has always been delivered on a rolling table. This time the server delivered it on a tray- nowhere to put it. I ate on the bed with my plate on my lap.
So this is what the JW Marriott in Cherry Creek has become; a regular, average hotel. We could stay downtown at other nicer hotels but we chose this hotel for the proximity to our children. We are very disappointed with the direction you have taken this hotel.
We have reservations for early September we are rethinking where to stay.
Nice rooms and service but downright awful Internet service
We ate a their restaurant. The biscuits and gravy is quite divine
Rooms are great, though we are visiting parents who are staying at them.
We held an event at the JW and the room, food and service was outstanding. Our event was a huge success.
Beautiful venue with a great indoor space that easily flows to the outside space
The check-in belied what was to come. It was fine.
I go to the room and spent the night. The next day the room wasn t cleaned. I called at 3 o clock pm and asked to have the room cleaned. When I returned at 10:30 PM the room wasn t cleaned. I called the front desk, the night manager. I m so incredibly sorry . I ll have the room cleaned first thing in the morning, what can I bring you? ( how about clean towels, coffee for the morning, some toilet paper, you know, the things a four diamond hotel usually gives their guests.) So I called at 9 o clock in the morning, talked to the manager, told him I would be out of the room for an hour and to please have the room cleaned.
I returned an hour later. The room wasn t clean. I called the front desk, I am so incredibly sorry, I ll send someone right up. Someone came up to the room. I left again while they cleaned. When I returned, I called the front desk The bathroom wasn t cleaned, the towels were dirty and unchanged, there were no tissues in the bathroom, all the soap was used and worn out, there were marks all over the mirror, the bathtub hadn t been cleaned, I called the front desk. Guess what I m so incredibly sorry. The head of housekeeping came up, and personally cleaned the bathroom guess what I m so incredibly sorry. But she really wasn t prepared to clean the room as you might expect so it wasn t clean.
I think that the management training for this Cherry Creek JW Marriott consists of a full three day course in, I m so incredibly sorry Spoken in multiple languages to assure anyone who might complain about anything. But you know what, it really doesn t solve any problems.
The management of this hotel never solved a single concern. And my complaints weren t in the category of unique. I just wanted air conditioning and a clean room.
I have never been in a Motel 6 that was as poorly managed as this JW I m so incredibly sorry Marriott.
I m so incredibly sorry to have to give a review of this kind to a hotel that has this kind of reputation, and I m so incredibly sorry but I will never be staying at the JW Marriott in Cherry Creek again nor could I recommend it to anyone else.
And management, please don t bother to reply to this review - I know, You re so incredibly sorry.
Everything was very nice including the employees. Parking was the only thing that was difficult.
I dropped off someone at the hotel. I didn't get a chance to visit longer than a few minutes.
Went to happy hour. Had great specials and friendly atmosphere
I travel for work, and I have been platinum with Marriott for many years. I've gotta say this is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. The rooms are immaculate, the beds are as soft as clouds and the staff is amazing.
This is a beautiful hotel. The only issue we had was the second night my mom and I had put out our breakfast menu for the next morning outside of the door. The next morning around the time it was supposed to be delivered, I opened the door wondering when food service was going to arrive and was shocked to see the menu we had filled out the night prior still there. We went down to the lobby and told the front desk that someone had forgotten to pick up our menu the night before, and they were shocked as well and sincerely apologized. I told her they could just use the menu for the next morning. After getting back from a long day at a convention, I called this evening to make sure we had our breakfast order in for tomorrow. The food service person said they did not but would take my order over the phone. This was a great hotel I just think the food service could be managed better since they forgot our menu/order twice.
Gorgeous hotel in a great location in Cherry Creek North. Full service spa and salon, nice sized gym, valet parking. Lobby has a comfy lounging area with fire. Restaurant Second Home has indoor and outdoor seating along with a large full service bar and a great mixologist.
Walk to shops and restaurants from the hotel. Cherry Creek Mall is across the street. Walk to Elway's.
Good service, small atmosphere, needs a renovation, great location
We went for breakfast at the restaurant. Service was quick and attentive and the food was fantastic. The Stranahan's maple syrup was to die for!
Note - when we stayed here the hotel was undergoing renovations. This rating is based on the newly renovated areas which included the room, halls, and lounge.
The room was great! Super clean lines, beautiful space, artwork and furniture. We had some great views of the mountain range too! This was an upgrade to a suite which had a gorgeous and large bathroom with freestanding tub and shower.
The lounge is big with lots of seating. I do miss the old days of a feee drink vs the honor bar. It always feels cheap. This was the first time staying in the Cherry Creek area, so I wasn't expecting a $50 per day valet parking charge. Thats normally the Ritz downtown. Oh well.
Would definitely stay here again. So easy to walk to so many places!
Location is great however the service and people were very dry and not so hospitable
Excellent. Staff was very accommodating, friendly and professional. They made the stay 5 stars. Hotel is in a great location, very clean and kept up to date.
We will return.
Thanks!
Rob and Laura Tyrrell.
The JW Marriott Cherry Creek is located in Cherry Creek, an upscale portion of Denver 10 min Southeast of downtown and 30 min from the airport. The JW Marriott is located right in the heart of shopping, restaurants, and other activities you can expect from an upscale part of town.
The hotel itself is fairly assuming - you'll miss it if you're not paying attention to the front entrance. Arrived late on a Sunday, and you'll see a very small lobby (Think it was going under renovation) as well as a line for check-in (guess 1 staff person at night doesn't help). There's no hotel restaurant or a bar, which is not optimal for business travellers. There is a small outdoor sitting area as well.
Check-in besides the delay was fairly straightforward. Rooms were ok, not the largest nor smallest but comfortably appointed. Not the most updated either but not out of date, about right for a JW. Bathroom was ok size, wi-fi worked well. Altogether a comfortable place to stay though not exciting.
Best thing again is proximity to shopping and restaurants. There is a Nobu affiliated restaurant nearby that's good (and pricey). However, price was solid which still makes it pretty good value for the money (though there's no parking so be prepared for that as well). Also, no suite upgrades for Titanium ambassador so boooo
Had breakfast at the restaurant. The food was fantastic and our server was phenomenal.
Nice hotel, but the restaurant bar has some very Bland Queso Fundido.
Very nice hotel with great outdoor seating area
But it's not worth the price
I am Lifetime Platinum with Starwood and am therefore Platinum Elite with Marriott.
I planned a one night surprise date-night getaway with my wife, and the stay on 11/27/17 was very disappointing from the outset. Here's the rundown:
- First, when we tried to check in at 2pm we were told no rooms are ready, and they took our cell phone number.
- While killing time in the neighborhood awaiting our check in, we never received a call back at all, so finally went back to the hotel a little after 4pm and the room was ready (no apology for not receiving a call)
- We had asked for a high floor mountain view room. We were given room 425 with a view of buildings across the street. When I asked if we could request a higher floor, the desk clerk said she would check with the boss.
- The manager on duty ( I did not get his name) came out and was very unpleasant from the outset.
- He said the room that we had is what we were allocated and there was nothing that could be done.
- I saw several keys for other guests not yet checked in on the 6th floor. I politely enquired that if there are other guests on the 6th floor why can I as lifetime Platinum not get the 6th floor (at least)? He seemed annoyed that we even had the nerve to ask!
- The manager repeated that 425 is the room we've been allocated.
- I stated that it seems that he was being extremely inflexible.
- As we started to walk off to our room 425, the manager said half-heartedly something along the lines of "If you want I guess I could get you a drink later". We said no thank you.
- At no point did the manager or anyone else thank us for being loyal lifetime Platinum members. The entire time felt adversarial and like we were not appreciated as customers in any way.
I felt it important to give this feedback so that it can be addressed.
With this being the second time in two weeks with an experience like this, it makes me wonder if this is the new normal we can expect after the Marriott purchase of Starwood?
Update: After significant conversations with GM I strongly believe this location will do well in the future.
Initial review: Very limited suites available for upgrades and the check in process was very messed up. Promises were not honored by management at all. In addition, the hotel is below a regular Marriott so please don't waste time or money on this hotel. I truly expected way more as Titanium Platinum elite member.
Great place to stay. The entire staff is very kind and helpful. Rooms were outstanding and the food was great
THE SERVICE IS MAD TRASH, LOOKS HORRIBLE AND SMELLS LIKE ROTEN EGGS. MY BED HAD BED BUGS. THE BATHROOMS WERE DIRTY AND SMELLED BAD. IT IS WAY OVER PRICED. IT'S HORRIBLE.
P.S I've never been here.
I came here to have a quiet place for my son to recoup from knee surgery. Everyone has been super helpful, especially George at the front desk. The restaurant, Toro is superb.
Great hotel with excellent staff! We stayed there to celebrate our anniversary and were treated to the concierge level for the duration of our stay. Lovely breakfast with a mountain view. The beds were comfortable and the room was nice and clean. The Second Home bar was a bit too loud for our liking and the service was slow, but otherwise everything was great. We would definitely stay there again!
Dogs barking for hours in other rooms, thermostat didn't work and we were freezing all night even tho we asked for extra blankets and the desk person said they would be brought up, no one came...someone smoked cigarettes in the stairwell and smoke smell came into our room very strongly. Ugh.
Took off a star for missing fridge/ microwave but overall awesome atmosphere especially in the lobby. Great view and courteous staff
Awesome, luxurious place. We had a ball this wknd.
Great location with awesome restaurants surrounding the area!
Went to the restaurant. It was very upscale and low key. They had boardgames and a family meal which also gave it that homely touch as well.
I ve been a Marriott Rewards member for a while now and this was by far one of the best stays we ve ever had. The customer service was top notch. It s not too often that you come across an entire staff as passionate as this staff was about making sure we had the best possible time throughout our stay. I will definitely be staying here each and every time we come back to Colorado!
Very loud when we arrived, but this is a first class hotel. Will update on Saturday. Here all week.
Beautifully remodeled property. Staff is wonderful, as always.
Fantastic experience. Great room, comfy beds. Excellent staff. And the hotel restaurant was great! Best fried chicken I've ever had. Good nightly specials and a fire pit in the middle of the patio made it the perfect spot for me and my husband and my sister in law to catch up and relax
Enjoyed drinks at the bar. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Nice environment.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Marriott Hotel. The evening social gathering and breakfast were fabulous. I met a beautiful woman there, and we talked for hours while we nursed our wine. Marriott takes care of customers with a high caliber of care and concerns for it's guests stay and enjoyment.
JW Marriot has the best drop off/ pick up in denver
Love this place. Lives up to the JW name. We stay here every time we come to Denver. Great location. Great service.
Great location in cherry Creek and the staff has been incredibly nice.
Staff is extremely friendly, and helpful. They assisted with my luggage from the moment I arrived, and further guided me to the nearest atm. The lobby bar and restaurant is superb. Excellent food and a cool atmosphere. Room was very clean and smelled great. You definitely get what you pay for!
This place is great place for vocation time also there are great rooms,we have been at JW MARRIOTT HOTEL Denver cherry creek with big party pm houseperson Mohammed make our stay exactly we had asked a lot of items in our room includes rolaybeds , freezes, make sofa beds and much more HE completed it every in 5 minutes. We would love to congures and thank to
Mohammed for our wonderful stay with JW MARRIOTT HOTEL Denver cherry creek.
Certainly appraciet.
Great experience!!!!!!
I always get my dessert at the restaurant in this hotel
Beautiful site with charming & inviting staff. I loved the way they opened the restaurant up so you can enjoy this beautiful courtyard in the middle of it. They had a really fun Mimosa & Bloody Mary bar set up for brunch, which everyone enjoyed making in their own style. We really enjoyed our experience there.
Overpriced for the quality. Ive stayed in nicer holiday inns. I prefer Hilton's.
Great brunch and drinks during Cherry Creek Arts Festival.
Visited the Second Home restaurant, staff was very friendly, environment was lovely, food was beyond great. Recommend coming at dusk to enjoy the open flame pit.
Humiliated by night manager in front of his customers **DO NOT GO** BAD BAD BAD. Two of us came here to stay all weekend, but before we could even check in the staff was rude, never smiled, and rolled their eyes. We didnt even stay at the counter because of that service. The manager then discriminated by saying to "never come back" and that was enough. I said I am thinking about a lawsuit. He rolled his eyes and dared me. I asked for his managers name and he wouldnt tell me. Will never be back. Unacceptable.
Amazing breakfast. Wonderfully nice staff. Beautiful setting.
Spacious rooms with great bathroom set up! Beds are super comfortable!
Great hotel in a great location near restaurants and shopping. The room is large and has many great amenities. Service has been great
Rude and dishonest staff. Food is horrible. There were pets shaking themselves off in the concierge room where they were serving open breakfast food. Very unhygienic. Not to mention the risk for people with allergies to cats/dogs. Loud obnoxious pets you can hear them from other rooms. Disgusting.
Great location with a very helpful and friendly staff. It is nicer to stay here in JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek neighborhood lhan to stay at a large chain hotel downtown. Will always try to book here when coming back to Chicago. Great place!
Went here for brunch.
Awesome build your own bloody mary bar.
Some Gluten Free Options, delicious food!
Great service from all - valet, concierge, wait staff
Enjoyed the stay for the night. Even had a to-go breakfast when we left before breakfast was served.
I can't really speak much for the room since I didn't stay there I was there for a conference that the conference facilities seem nice.
The location is great if you want to go to Cherry Creek mall.
If you're trying to get to downtown Denver it is quite a distance.
Great brunch with friends! $14.99 bottomless mimosas and the food was really good! Convenient and free valet parking with validation.
I hosted a military reunion here. This was miles above and beyond the best hotel I've ever experienced both on a personal and professional level. From the planning with the sales group to the experiences with the dining staff, we were treated as though we were family. The concierge, Mr. Maresh, went way beyond the call of duty when I threw dozens of questions at him and his staff. They've actually helped me get a head start on planning for next year half a continent away! Who else does that?!?! I have already recommended this hotel to all of my friends and colleagues and will continue to do so... Actually they impressed me so much I'm planning on trying to make a personal trip out in the winter! If I could give 10000 stars I definitely would! Way to go Marriott!!!!!!
Nice hotel, although it does feel a little dated in the room (for a JW). Rooms should have USB ports for ease of charging electronics. Reception and valet were excellent.
