A traditional restaurant in the Edwards area of Eagle County, Colorado. It has a very nice, covered terrace and delicious food. The Halibut is highly recommended. It has an impeccable service and the place is very careful in these times of COVID. In a lively, relaxed and smart casual atmosphere. It is definitely an excellent place to dine in Edwards.

I eat at Juniper virtually once per week as an Edwards local. I love the food and the vibe. Delicious! You are definitely missing out if you don't eat here.
Called months in advance to book a private drinks reception at Juniper, after several attempts (three separate occasion phone calls) I finally spoke to the owner who said "Just come to the bar and we will accommodate." Fast forward to wedding drinks reception (where we were spending thousands of dollars) he asks us to leave because we are taking up too much space in his restaurant. We even asked for tables which we had no problem placing food orders for, but he was not willing. The owner was the most despicable person I have ever met in the restaurant industry. After reading other Yelp reviews, I have noticed many others have shared my exact same experience. I encourage you to read further than these Google reviews. This man does not belong in a service industry, but there are simply a limited number of upscale restaurants in the area so I'm sure that's how this restaurant survives. I have also eaten here previous to this incident and the food is extremely lack luster and over-priced, especially for the quality of meat.
If you scroll further into the reviews, you can see his nasty response to a different patron, just an example of how he treats his customers. I am also a Marketing events planner for a living, so I can assure you this was no mistake on my end of "planning in advance"
Best fine dining in Edwards. There are a multitude of dining experiences fine an average throughout the Vail valley. Between Beaver Creek and Vail some of the nicest restaurants are there for the liking and tasting. Juniper certainly ranks high amongst all of these. The experience has consistently delicious the bar experience is great. We loved the staff and bartender. The owners are wonderful.
This place I would *never* patronize. We showed up nicely dressed in November with a confirmed open table reservation. Turns out they are closed for the season and little else was open. Would have been nice to know that in their Vail Magazine ad. False advertising. Owner failed to acknowledge error. Will never patronize again,
I was here just Saturday night having dinner and the food was fine, nothing special. There was an event going on where I saw the manager yelling at some other patrons and the way he was treating them was disgusting. I will never patronize them again after seeing how he acted and the way he treated other customers.
The manager was one of the rudest most arrogant people I have ever met. My sister-in-law tried making reservations months in advance for a cocktail party there and their only response was to call the day before to remind them and just come in to the bar. They ended up kicking us out due to the amount of people that showed up and were extremely rude about the way they did it. If you can't handle the number of people at the bar you shouldn't agree to host an event or the least you could do would be to offer to host us in a different area of the restaurant. I am a local and will never do business with them again.
We were just visiting Beaver Creek for a week and Juniper was recommend to us. We had the pork chops and the veal...both were amazing! We will definitely be returning next time we are in the area.
Worst dining experience ever. The halibut stunk up the entire restaurant - not fresh! Wait staff was excellent and tipped generously. Food and management was subpar. After purchasing appetizers, cocktails and wine we waited for our main More
Great location. Excellent quality food. Fantastic drinks. Reasonable prices . Jennifer, our server was amazing and attentive. She knew every detail about the menu we asked. Comparing it to other restaurants in and near Vail valley; 10 out of 10 for service and food.
This place is superb! My husband and I had a lovely anniversary dinner here, and the food did not disappoint!! The veal scallopini was divine, and the wait staff were very helpful, friendly and professional.
Fantastic meal. The gazpacho is excellent, as was the roasted beet salad and Brussels sprouts. They now have a front and back patio to accommodate for Covid, and service was speedy and attentive.
Hostess was kinda rude since we showed up with no reservation on a slow night geeze.. Then waitress gave me attitude when I wanted to substitute certain veggies in my entree, rolling her eyes etc..Water glasses empty for half hour . Food is just average and completely overpriced. Spend your money somewhere else .
We had a wonderful evening, food was seasoned exceptionally, our server was knowledgeable and walked us through the menu perfectly. What a great experience!
We had the best dinner last night, and also enjoyed the great customer service provided, the wonderful ambiance and most delicious food, those truffle fries were to die for and so we decided to pass by today for some fries, guess what, the restaurant was not open for service but they went out of their way to make us the fries and gave them to us for Free!!! Now talk about Excellent Service and care, we will definitely be back. This in our opinion is a 10 star restaurant. Thank you Doug and Team for the great hospitality!!!
I was recommended to eat dinner here by my breakfast waitress in Vail. I have never in my life received a better recommendation, and I want to share that recommendation!
I had the sea scallops with risotto, and mushrooms. My love had the veal with a lemon reduction angel hair pasta. Both were incredible. I was very blown away by the Scallops. The portions were large, and the food was intensely flavorful!
Our waitress, Jamie M., was an absolute treat, and her service could not have been more on point!
We got the Hot Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake that can be seen pictured both here, and all over their photos as well as an apple sorbet.
Typical mountain town food, sounds fancy but then doesn't impress. Price would have been fine if it had tasted better. The steak tasted like it was cooked over burning fat. Got a dish that had ravioli, came with 2!
Great service, atmosphere, owner, and food. Patio seating is wonderful. This place is adored by locals, and out-of-town guests return year after year after year..you get it!
Dinner was mediocre, wasn't even served hot. Wait staff acted indifferent to questions regarding food allergies. Restaurant noise is the worst in the valley, couldn't hear the person talking sitting directly across from me. Plenty of great restaurants in the valley so you can skip this one.
Juniper is a Great Place! I recommend Juniper if you want a delicious steak dinner. You will not be disappointed. The owners really do care about every customer. All of the staff are exceptional. It is truly a relaxing atmosphere, and if anyone were to have a steak dinner perhaps maybe slightly under cooked. Do not worry but rest assure the owners, and staff will take care all you and every customer immediately. I challenge anyone that has written a negative review to please give Juniper another chance. You might be inclined to write something positive.
Juniper is our go to restaurant in Edwards. We love the service, the food, the presentation and the care of preparation. We always get a smile when we arrive and just love the ambiance of this wonderful restaurant!
I made a reservation for our party of 7 more than a month in advance and specifically requested a table in the front dining room of the restaurant. The host who took the reservation said that there would be no problem accommodating our request. We made this request because we have visited Juniper before with a large party and we were seated in the back of the restaurant where we were crammed into a small corner table against an outside wall. The back of the restaurant is essentially an outdoor patio space that is enclosed by a canopy. The heating is supplied by ceiling coil heating units, and some portable space heaters, therefore the temperature is not consistent throughout the space. The table where we sat was cold and drafty, thus we were very uncomfortable throughout our meal. This is why we requested a table in the front dining room of the restaurant on this visit. Well, when we arrived, we once again were seated in a cramped corner table that was against two of the outdoor-facing canopy walls. The restaurant was full, so there was no way we could have been sat in any other location. We were disappointed with the fact that despite making our reservation and seating request more than a month in advance and being promised the front room, we were sat in the exact space where we had the poor experience previously, and the staff did not acknowledge or apologize for the inconvenience. As far as the food is concerned, the quality and taste of the meal was excellent. The portions, however, were lacking, especially for the price. Specifically, the $16 butternut squash ravioli appetizer had 3 small ravioli. I understand that the dish is an appetizer, but it is ridiculous to serve 3 meager-sized ravioli and call it a dish of any kind. Our experience with the atmosphere and level of service at the restaurant was 2-star at best. The food was a 4-star experience (besides the meager portions), thus the 3-star rating for this review.
Like everyone else that writes a review for Juniper - it is very good. My party of four each ordered different items (one ordered the off menu burger...). We all enjoyed our meals (fish steak and veal). The service was very friendly and professional (very comfortable casual Colorado). I will recommend the restaurant to anyone traveling to the area.
Waitstaff was great, had an issue with the food that the manager not only did not resolve but was extreme rude in his manner towards us. Will not eat there again. Common sense to treat your customers with respect.
We booked a table for Christmas night. I was amazed at how busy it was on that particular night. Of course I should not have been surprised because like us, many were vacationers. The food was excellent. Our server was very personable and very honest and was right every time ("get the steak", "I think you would like this better", etc). It was a pleasurable family night out
Food was great, but tried making a reservation and when we got there they told us that our table was still finishing up. Waited for a little bit and then went back to check in and they had seated our table! Talked to the manager and not only did he not apologize but just his general demeanor was hostile and angry. Very disrespectful.
From start to finish, everything was perfect. The staff and management could not have been more accommodating. The food...well I'd be surprised to find a better meal in the valley
If I could give more than five stars to this restaurant I would. I travel quite a bit and entertain clients often. What a treat to eat dinner at Juniper last night. It is undoubtedly a special place with special people and a menu that is outstanding! Truly a first class dining experience!!! I was eating alone and felt like royalty from the genuine engagement I had from the bartender to the owner! I can t wait to go back to this little gem of a place!
Did some takeout while on vacation. We ordered the mushroom soup, salmon dish, steak dish and the beet salad. Everything was delicious. My salmon had some small homemade pastas that were SO GOOD. My husband said his steak was delicious
Freshly remodeled, this is now the sexiest place in town! The food is choice and the service is top notch. As a local, this has always been a favorite. Be sure to meet the owner, Doug - he s a hoot!
The most miserable experience food -wise. The service was good but nothing can compensate the burnt ( raw inside ) entrees. I got to experience the GREESIEST place ever , I pointed out to the waitress that the greese was running down my fingers. I asked 2 times that I needed to speak with the manager and he started arguing with me right away. Spend your evening at a nice place, NOT Juniper.
This restaurant is so good. It is one of my favorite places. I rarely review restaurants and I am going out of my way to review Juniper. The staff is very friendly and the food is outstanding. I sat out on the back patio and had a gorgeous view. The restaurant is decorated very nicely and the owner is so nice. He is there almost every night. I've been coming here for years now and I never get bored of it. Must try!
Generally good eats at Juniper. When we have family or friends looking for a place to eat we will always recommend Juniper. Typical American Menu - a couple steads, fish etc. All cooked nicely. Don't miss out on there dessert menu either.
This is one of the best restaurants in Colorado . I have lived in the mountains of Colorado most of my life and it does not get much better than Juniper!
My husband and I and our kids arrived for our reservation and were told our table for 4 on the patio was just finishing up and we could wait at the bar for 15 minutes or be seated at an inside table right inside the front door immediately. This was our first time dining at Juniper and we were looking forward to sitting outside with our kids having a nice family evening. Soon the hostess approached and said they no longer had a table on the patio for us. Confused we asked what happened? And we were told other reservations would be coming in and taking the table as outdoor tables were on a first come first serve basis. This made no sense to us and she told us she would do her best. Next we were introduced to the owner Doug who was very cold and told us he was not there when we checked in and didn t know what we were told. Wow. He never returned to us and left us in a state of confusion sitting at the bar. By now 30 minutes had gone by. Finally we approached the hostess stand awkwardly at this point asked what we should do. We were trying to decide if we should just cut our loses and leave at this point as no one was very friendly or seemed to be focused on customer service. We were offered the table right inside the door again and finally sat down. We should have honored our first intentions and left. The waitress was average. Not welcoming in any way. Food was good. Doug the owner brought entrees and never mentioned all the confusion or the poor way we were treated. Overall, poor customer service with ok food. Hopefully they appreciate their customers more going forward. Bummer of an evening that we were looking forward to.
