This wonderful authentic Basque Restaurant just never stops feeding you! It is a great value for the amount of food they feed you and it is a fun way to eat out with family and friends. We had a party of over 10 people and the waitresses never missed a step. Thank you for a great night out!

Took a long time to get seated. The signature drink the Pichon wasn't anything to write home about. However, the meal was great and the chilled wine served with dinner was the best match of any of the wines we brought.

This is one of my favorite restaurant I have been to. The staff is super amazing. The meals are all you can eat of the dinner they have for the day. This is my wife and I second time being here and we live out of state. When ever we are in the area this is our go to spot. The food is wonderful and I always eat a great share of it all. This last time I had the rabbit as my main course and the sauce it was cooked in was amazing. Great atmosphere and great food make for a perfect combination

This place is amazing. It has great food and the best steak I have tasted. The staff was great at keeping food coming and keeping your glass full. I would always choose here over most places.

Friendly staff and delicious food. The menu is limited but excellent, the location is very convenient. The restaurant has a full service bar. Be prepare to wait for lunch/dinner but there is plenty to see in the celling and on the walls while you wait. There is no kids menu.

Along with the Star Hotel in Elko, it is quite possibly the best place to eat in Northern Nevada. Friday night's beef tongue stew is unforgettably good. You won't be disappointed. Be aware that it is a very popular destination, and a reservation beforehand is not a bad idea.

The cuisine is great! They serve plenty of food, most of it family style. The staff is always friendly and make it a fun place to eat. It's easy to see why the restaurant has been around nearly 60 years.

Best lamb chops I have ever had in life. Others had delicious salmon and chicken. We all loved the crisp fries and finished our meal with yummy ice cream. Salad was only lettuce...would like more veggies. Very busy place. Be prepared to be patient waiting for food and beverage refills.

Best place to eat in town. The best evening is Friday, the food is amazing, the service is spectacular. It's a throwback in time to just walk in, whether in the bar area or the dining room, count on seeing friends there. A perfect family dining experience. If you leave here hungry, it's your own fault!

JT is a staple in our town. Quality is usually good, service the same and if you like a lot of food or have a big appetite this is your place. I usual only come for lunch and get the steak sandwich with garlic and waddle out fat and happy.

If you conne for dinner get a picon and don't forget to stick a dollar to the ceiling.

Been dining at the J & T when it was named that and still had rooms available upstairs where US Forest Service employees stayed while working in area. Of course the food was as always, excellent!

Awesome environment and cool bar with attentive staff. Food is only okay.. Fist course of soup was decent, salad course was terrible, just a bed of romaine with light forgettable dressing, stew was actually pretty good, bean dish wasn't cooked and tasted like the inside of an aluminum can, fries were soggy and possibly from a frozen bag, entree of cod was way too salty, lamb shoulder entree had terrible presentation and was just alright. Overall quite disappointed with quality of food. In a time when restaurant competition is quite high, this place misses the mark.

Great food and cool old building. There is a dining room and a bar. the bar is maintained in the vintage style from the mining boom. The 'steak' sandwich is good for lunch; I write 'sandwich' since it really is a steak with a couple slices of French bread. I eat it like a steak with a knife and fork.

My wife and I stop by at least once a year. This is family style Basque food. We've visited other Basque style restaurants in the valley but we drive 3+ hours to eat here.

We literally stay in Gardernville to do nothing but eat here (although you can't beat for views and the small town feel).

From the steak, to lamb, to roasted rabbit and other Basque foods I won't try (sweet bread). It is all fresh and absolutely the best.

As a side note it's $25 a person (they didn't charge for my kids) and you get so much food plus coffee and ice cream to top it off.

Went here for the first time on a business dinner. Enjoyed the food so much I brought my husband. Family style. Each time the menu changed slightly. It is a great time. Farm to table food. Very fresh. Wait staff makes you feel like you ARE a member of the Basque family

Love this place! This is as authentic as it gets, fair prices and you will NEVER leave hungry. Lamb chops are fantastic. Don't just show up for a quick bite. Come for dinner and enjoy the full experience. Sending love from June Lake, CA!

I always have a good time and a good meal when I visit J t's. It's an old time Basque restaurant family style dining, As its head before the food is excellent, the service is great, but I guess like everywhere that has fine food and good service that food is a bit pricey

Looks like all the other 5 star reviews have this place covered.
I will only add that I recently visited for the first time and can say that this place will be a regular stop for dinner when I am in the area from now on. I didn't want to leave.
Authentic and delicious!
Make sure to have some Picon punch before dinner!!

Simply one of the best Basque restaurants I've ever eating at. The server was very attentive and efficient despite the fact she was covering eight tables. Everybody seemed happy with their respective meals and I heard a couple near me oh, that they would be coming back here again. I believe the hostess is also one of the owners. She made me feel very welcome and I got a bit of a man crush on her she was so pretty. And of course the food was very good. Some of the best lamb shoulder I've ever had

Best place for dinner in Gardnerville, hands down! Great food and outstanding reliable service every time. Never disappointed at the J.T.!!! Picon punch, yummy wine, soup salad, bread, beans, stew... and the best fries ever!! Try the scampi, it's perfect. Butter pecan ice cream on a lucky night...throw a dollar on the ceiling on your way out to impress your family! :)
