Lots of prouduct out on display, friendly people. Prices were good, lower than big box stores [field and stream ect]. They have some intresting milsurp as well. Deducted one star because of how hazy the store was with cigarette smoke. Thats my only gripe with the place =/

Normally busy. Good selection of used weapons, but newer weapons were lacking. Ammo was expensive, but the firearms were averagely priced. Staff is knowable but very busy. If you know what you want, and I if they have it, it's a good shop. They're also happy to educate brand new weapons owners, but they're normally really busy and it takes a while to get to everyone.

I have tried to be a customer for a few years. I stopped by there today to buy a holster. I asked for help and the guy asked where I bought the gun from, I was not sure why this was needed. I simply said the new store in Moon. He got very upset and told me to go back there. I ended up on GunBroker, but thought that was different. National Armory was $35.00 cheaper, I got a free shirt as well. There are tons of other shops out there, DONT"T WASTE YOUR TIME. Anthony's has a great range!

Terrible experience tried to get my sister a pistol for home protection and since we are people of color we automatically deserve to be treated like trash and made to not feel welcome will never go back it's 2017 not 1957.

They have a lot of selection, but the store is kind of dingy. Prices are ok, employees have always been helpful, but they're super excited to throw their politics at you. I won't shop anywhere that one of the conditions is listening to a rant about how Obama is a Muslim.

Large selection, though not always competitively priced. The staff is usually friendly, though service is sometimes slow. I do still recommend them but I would always recommend shopping around first as well.

Great Selection, Cool, mostly-knowledgeable staff. The owner Tim is very good for NFA Class 3 Items! I usually deal with Mike and Tom and Never push you into something you're unsure about! When people complain about prices, they sound stupid. They are a local business employing local people. THEY HAVE OVERHEAD! Which means that they pay salaries, electric bills, and taxes. My only complaint about the entire place is that the used guns could be a little cleaner. But Even when clean, they gun should be cleaned by you before firing..... but that's common sense!

They refuse to return calls. I transferred an NFA item to them 10 months ago and I cannot even get an answer as to if they have processed my ATF paperwork. My count is 7 calls and 2 in person visits to the store, and I am still waiting for them to even respond once. Next call is my lawyer.

What's nice about this shop is they let you actually get hands on and don't mind if you take multiple guns out of the case to compare if you're trying to make a decision. The staff here are very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. It's the best gun shop in Beaver County

Painless experience In&Out!!

Truly a terrible place to sell a gun took my rifle there to sell it and it had a broken spring to hold the mag in but other than that the fun was kept in almost new condition great wood and chekering not a spot of corosion they gave me 50 bucks for it 50 dollars for a 30.6 this place is a joke.

Friendly faces, fast sales.

Friendly faces, fast sales.
Highly recommended especially for those who are neither US citizen nor green card holder. They know how to deal with non-resident aliens. Only takes an hour or two to go through the purchase and background check.

Just went in because I'm a first time gun owner and made a huge mistake by getting a bullet lodged backwards in chamber!!! I know dumb....but my house got broke into while I was sleeping and I needed protection- I explained to them , they said bring it in and fixed it in one minute charged me only ten bucks! Awesome service and explanation-will definitely shop there for next purchase!! Thanks guys for wonderful experience!!!!! (Not to mention they didn't act like I was stupid for my mistake!)

I was having trouble finding the Taurus 856CH that I wanted because none of the other gun shops in the area could get it as all of their suppliers were out of stock. Not only could John Brown s get this in for me, Tom also researched the speed loader needed for it since this is a 6-shot revolver and my 5-shot loaders won t work with it and found they had those in stock too. The guys were all wonderful when I went in to pick it up today too, letting me make test its fit in my holster from my Taurus 85CH. Great experience, I couldn t be happier!

All the guys here are pretty cool. They serve familiar faces faster than new ones, but i take that as a plus. If you dont treat regular customers with a little extra service, they wont feel as welcomed. The only reason that i gave them "very good" instead of excellent is because their prices are a little bit on the mid-high side. They do take care of their customers and really do great inspections on the used guns, so i guess the prices justify themselves. You know you are getting a pretty quality used gun if you buy one.

MY wife stated," Get a Gun". Me being the adherent spouse, I did.! I bought my first gun here (Taurus Model 66 .357mag rev). The staff answered ALL my rookie questions. A few months later, I wanted a semi-auto 9mm. Again, ALL Q&A answered flawlessly. The Handgun itch overwhelmed me time and again, where did I go? John Brown's !! The latest itch, came with the Question.. " what if I have a problem?? The Answer ..."we'll take care of it". I Had a minor problem, and the staff did exactly that, TOOK CARE OF IT! !..It's sometimes hard to find honest people these days. thank you Tim and the John Brown's Armory Staff !

Went in for my first gun buy during the Coronapocolypse. It was filled with people and the staff was extremely busy. They were extremely courteous and helpful, and despite having to help multiple people at once, they helped me find 2 home defense firearms suitable for my skill level and wallet. Extremely satisfied with my guns and the overall experience. Will definitely buy from these guys again. Great people and great shop.

I called about the ruger 57 pistol, i was told no one had the gun yet, it was to new, that i would have to wait. How is a gun to new for a gun shop? I went to sportsman supply co. in butler and bought the ruger 57 same day.

Prices are way out of line, the store smells like an ash tray and walking into the store you feel like your are on an episode of "Hoarders". Selection is mediocre though an occasional good find highly over priced. Customer service is truly bad, the DMV is better then the staff at John Brown's.

You feel dirty just walking into this shop.

All in all a very disappointing experience, not worth the drive.

I love the boxes of stuff. Old school feel. Bought an sks on Sunday. Shop was closed but a man was leaving and locking up. Inventory? But when I told him my interest he let me in. Very nice guy who knew his stuff. I found a nice Chinese sks paid his fair price and left. I'm sure I
Could have got one cheaper but that wasn't the point. Gun has quadrupled in value. Well if I hadn't modified. Love gun and shop. Also bought a 1957 94 winchester in 32 winchester special at a later date. Oh my 350 dollars?? Lol I could easily double or more my money. You have to know something about this stuff on a transaction like this. Profit is not a dirty word. A shop like this is hard to find they have bills to pay too.
Took my whole shop crew on a boys night out here. Everyone bought something. I've bought many things at jb never disappointed. I actually miss the old building. Took me back 40 years when men where men and guns where fun. Remember picking another man's gun is like picking another man's nose. It just ain't right.

Awesome store with a large and diverse inventory. I purchased my first handgun from John Browns a month or so ago and have already went back to put another on layaway. Yes they offer free layaway making it that much easier to acquire any gun desired.
The staff is very knowledgeable and do not bother the customer with aggressive sales tactics, but instead offer educated conversation or will educate the buyer on any firearm of interest. Being new to the gun world and instantly hooked, each week I go in to make a payment towards layaway, a staff member is always willing and happy to show me how to operate a gun I may be looking at in addition to answering any questions that I may have without making it apparent that I am a "rookie." In other words, feel free to ask questions as you won't made to feel stupid for doing so, but instead you will be supplied a thorough explanation and answer to whatever it is you are asking.
What I like most about John Brown's Armory, aside from the family like atmosphere within the store, is that the staff informs the customer regarding pro's and cons to any gun of interest and without trying to upsell you they'll offer alternatives.
All used guns seem to have be cleaned, inspected and repaired (if necessary) so buyers should feel confident that they are purchasing a quality firearm (either new or used) from an honest dealer.
As for pricing, they are very competitive and when using sites like galleryofguns, quite often John Brown's Armory has the lowest price and when combined with the service of the knowledgeable staff, I most definitely will always remain a customer and have no desire to go anywhere else.
Located in Rochester, which is about an 30 miles from Pittsburgh, many of my colleagues have not been there simple due to the location, however, I would strongly suggest making the drive as you will find that it was worth the extra time and as long as you leave the wife at home, you will most likely be offered a great deal, leaving with a new firearm.
