Beautiful historical place, with gorgeous gardens to wander through. Stunning interiors with knowledgable staff that are happy to chat. Recommend a visit.
Fascinating, and the docents are so helpful and knowledgable. So much history!
Beautiful scenery and lots of parking and very good hot chocolate! Only complaint is that you are not allowed to walk a bike through the gardens even if you don't ride it so as long as you have a lock or take a car you will be fine.
Lovely setting and great walks at any time of year. The Battle Proms in July is a fabulous occasion. S good selection of shops in the stable yard.
Lovely gardens to walk round. Very informative guided tour around the house. Can get extremely busy when the festival wkends are held, but well worth the visit. Enjoyable experience.
Woodland walks nice and well maintained and courtyard shops and deli were excellent
Lovely place to go for christmas market lots of choice food drinks clothes smellies and gifts also jewellery but does get crowded
Beautiful house and grounds. I had the pleasure of riding round the grounds on a sponsored ride and dispite the weather it was stunning!
Ran by money grabbers, awful awful awful. Overpriced.
Nice Christmas meal at the old palace but a nightmare to find the right entrance and no instructions given when booking. Also a long walk in the dark and rain in our finery and high heels to the main entrance of the event. Plus lots of More
Been going here for five years to see battle proms. Brilliant afternoon/evening out music renactments food drink red devils grace spitfire display side stalls love it
Nice bit of history here and a good place for the kids. The Cafe is a bit expensive but you don't get your normal Hatfield chavs because you have to pay to get in. I also saw the ginger bird off holby city
Great enclosed outdoor farm area where kids can run around safely
Beautiful place with plenty to see and enjoy for a day out with family.
It is a shame for me to visit this place so late. I missed this beautiful place 10years ago when I was study in Uni Hertfordshire.
I pay visit to this place after graduated for years, I was been shocked by the beauty of this estate.
Been coming here since I was at school. Great place for a mooch about and a Sunday dinner.
Very beautiful place! Great opportunity for kids to see animals.
Lovely gardens and historic buildings, with a choice of eating and drinking, and a gift shop.
A lovely house to visit, the forest walks are a great touch (and not much travelled, so can be away from the crowd, while still not going too far), the gardens have quite a bit of variety and many hidden places. Getting the ticket once also allows one to return to the grounds & garden (not the house though) as many times in a season as they like.
I was here for Slam Dunk lol so didn't get to see the majesty of the architecture and antiques but cool spot for the festival, lotsa space
Beautiful House. Lots of history. In immaculate condition. Staff are very knowledgeable and ticket includes re-entry for next two months
An immaculate jacobean stately home with lots of historical surprises
Beautiful place! So much history and such helpful staff wanting to give you the best experience. A possible wedding venue for us!
I loved Hatfield House, a beautiful building with very knowledgeable guides in every room who bring the building alive. Unfortunately for us, the weather wasn't kind so we couldn't visit the garden, I would definatley recommend a visit
Really relaxing and beautifully shaded in today's sunshine and heat.
6 quid for a garden.. 5 quid for a crap farm. Awful food in the cafe (also overpriced). Steer clear
Great place. Historical and well cared for. Staff very friendly.
Beautiful gardens and walks. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Absolutely stunning day in the sun at Hatfield House gardens. The gardens are beautifully presented with a huge variety of trees in bloom
Lovely house with large grounds. Quite expensive compared to other stately homes and lots of extras to pay for. Quite a lot of potentially interesting bits closed off which is a bit of a disappointment.
This is a very picturesque location. Perfect lawns, beautiful structures...a lovely courtyard if you want to stay outdoors. Really lovely for photos. Sadly I went there on a very hot day so, it was sweltering inside. There is no air conditioning. The courtyard was right beside the hall so I could still hear music and not faint from the heat inside. I believe if the provider caters for your event, you do not have to pay for the venue. Don't quote me but I think the cost for using the venue is included in the meal. All below 80 pounds! However please confirm this to be on the safe side
Amazing place to visit. Stunning views and setting. Lots of scenery. Nice shops. 3rd Sunday of the month there is a farmers market on.
Today I visited just to take my poodle puppy to Hair of the Dog for a groom
I was directed by v pleasant staff to a parking space in the car park. Such a nice atmosphere
Fantastic day at Hatfield house and grounds. It was raining but it didn't dampen our enjoyment. So much money had been spent on updating all public areas. Beautiful houses old and even older. Cafe has fantastic food. Shops are unique . Will be returning soon with our mums.
Great little courtyard and the cafe is big with good food choices
A real gem of a place. For a young family there is plenty to do, including a farm and excellent play area, and for the historians amongst you, a wealth of knowledge is waiting.
The two stars are for the river cottage restaurant which is very disappointing. The menu is limited and expensive. My son had Ragu which was a small portion of very salty meat on macaroni. His side of broccoli was very unchild friendly - huge hard pieces of chargrilled broccoli were not popular.
However, the park and grounds are lovely. We also enjoy visiting the farm - although this is really a morning or afternoon activity as there isn't much to see but it is fun to feed the goats.
Very disappointed. Several friends and I, paid to get into the house and were shocked to find that they won't let you play rugby in any of the rooms! When we tried, the staff became very aggressive. I was so upset that i ended up punching an elderly lady. Then they had the cheek to call the police on me! Unbelievable.
Beautiful house with expansive grounds to explore. Staff are very polite and friendly. A must visit if you are in the area or return visitor.
Beautiful, classic parkland to explore down to the river. A gorgeous house with formal gardens which I'll have to go back to another time. The stable area with little independent shops (art workshops, gifts and jewellery etc) is lovely. The coffee shop was lovely when I went a year or so ago but seemed a bit empty yesterday. Not sure why, still a lovely place to sit and chatter. Beautiful place for a walk.
Despite living locally for a good few years, I only managed a visit to Hatfield House for the first time last month. Admission pricey but a ticket gets you into the house once but once stamped at the ticket booth, allows entrance to the grounds for a year. The house is absolutely stunning and the history is quite incredible. There are guides in most of the areas of the house and were always very helpful with additional information. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best weather on the day I visited so will be exploring the grounds properly when the sun is here. Definitely looks ideal for summer picnics and the like...
Went to Battle of the Prom's which was an outdoor event. Amazing and facilities were brilliant
Lovely spaces grounds. Hatfield House was closed but there was access to the old house. The gardens are lovely and very picturesque. And the lake is just fabulous to see.
There is lots to do for the kids like feeding the animals and run around the play ground. There is also a few quaint shops to visit.
Enjoyed walking around the gardens... Didn't enter the house however
We had a great day at Hatfield Battle proms .. the weather was lovely, and the entertainment was good .. 10/10
Why do I have to pay to visit a park?!
This place is also outrageously expensive, if you'd like to go somewhere pretty, scenic and quite I'd advise Northaw Great Wood instead, it's free and beautiful.
Lovely place to visit, grounds are extensive and beautiful. The house was very interesting. Disappointed with the Kitchen restaurant, it had an out of control wasp problem and the food was not as nice as expected for the price.
Lovely trees.
Well kept gardens.
Tribute to the gardeners.
Very interesting house with knowledgeable guides. A pity we couldn't visit the old house as it was closed for a wedding. The River Cottage restaurant was a big disappointment. Very slow service & when the main course eventually arrived it was the size of a starter. Poor value.
Gorgeous house . A feeling of utmost peace in the whole location
ABIT pricy but looks very entertaining, would love to visit on a regular basis.
Proclamation News an Gatherence
Attend Folk by the Oak, which is an amazing festival.
The only drawback is clearing the car park at the end of the night which is a complete nightmare! They really need to sort out the stewarding for this so that it flows much better. Can end up waiting for nearly an hour to get off the grounds!
Good family day out with lovely grounds. Food and drink overpriced.
A fabulous place to visit wonderful house and Gardens for a picnic. Lovely to walk around the house.
Wonderfull shoot location, beautiful interior and surroundings
