On the back of the unpretentious Jericho Beach Sailing Club this spot virtually hangs over the water and serves up a fair selection of food. The nachos plate..appx $20..is enough to feed a hungry crowd. Wash it down with cold berr or a selection of al. non. Drinks. Kids welcome to the umbrella shielded dining deck.
Absolutely Awful Food
Completely Overpriced & Chef Unqualified & Rude, as well as the owner operator incredibly arrogant, defensive, disrespectful!!! Chamber of Commerce Vancouver plus Vancouver Coastal Health SHOULD INSPECT THE Yeiks' Kitchen & facility ( which would have great potential!!! With God's Reputable Professional Gastronomic Management!)
Certainly Won't t recommend this spot to my International Group of Friends!
Unfortunately so, since the Location is wonderful! Needs New Competent Professional Restaurateur' Urgently!
Awesome place, nice boatyard and excellent sail center!
It's a little hidden, but great location and people!
Really friendly place. The manager is an absolute legend
Pleasant little joint on the waterfront. Fish and chips were good but the slaw was boring. Tried the tortillas and guac which was pretty yummy. Staff were nice and the manager came and shared pleasantries with us a few times. Very welcoming. I would make a point of going back
A gem in the city. Great place to unwind on their patio or take down to the beach. So far superior to any concession food served at the beach. Not to mention the great beer selection.
No place better to enjoy a sunset, a burger, a pint, and the entertainment of beginning sailors.
Great place for ocean sports and the pub upstairs is a hidden gem
Supportive staff. Renting windsurfing is super cheap: 25cad for 2 hours! Good selection of sails and boards.
The perfect place to chat with a good friend over a beer while watching the sunset. Service is so so and you may need to wait for a table on the patio.
Used to be a good place for a snack and a great view of the city. Now they are gouging customers based on location.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great courses on offer, sweet location.
Lots of bunnies.
Bunny heaven.
Please be mindful they are shy and if you decide to free them, please bring bananas, fruits or vegetables!
I see many people feeding bunnies junk food, that's no good.
They are really shy too, crouch and approach slowly, don't just run up to them!
Love thy bunnies!
Great community and it's become a big part of my life where I've meet new friends and become a "decent" sailor
An expensive self serve dive of a restaurant located two floors up and 30 feet from the shore with a view of the north shore mountains and jerrico beach sailing lessons.
Not always the right choice but sometimes it's perfect!
I would have given 5 stars but the people that were crabbing here were very rude and thought they owned the pier all to themselves. Enough said. It was a better place 20 years ago.
Amazing experience. Went with a large group of young kids and they made sure everyone had chances to sail and made sure everyone was comfortable with the boats
Nice people and a great facility in a great location
Lovely location, lots happening on the water
Very casual and friendly
Looks like an excellent yacht club with all the necessary facilities, not too crowded. The Windsure personnel are efficient, polite and helpful.
Great place to watch the Celebration of Light fireworks
The center provides different courses, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, and etc.my nephew attended summer camp held by MACSAILING, the courses pare great and teachers are nice.
The view of the center is spectacular; however, I was told that I am not allowed to take pictures only if I get the landowner s permission.
Gallery restaurant at the sailing Centre! Great food, great view!
Great place to sail, kayak, windsurf, or paddle board from. Rentals and lessons are available from the businesses there. A few sailing clubs operate from it too. They also serve food and drinks, and the patio is one of the best in the city. So it's a nice spot to just hangout at too.
Love the Galley Restaurant here. Great burgers. If you want fish and salad, do order the Lois Lake steelhead. Superb! Then take a walk along the pier and watch crabbing.
Went out on a small sailboat with my grandson for the first time thanks to the Disabled Sailing Association.
Great location for watersports! The restaurant and bar overlooking the bay is pretty good too.
Perfect spot to launch into the ocean or sit back and take in sweeping views from the restaurant's upper deck. The staff are stellar!
Sailing Centre a great local resource/hub for local argonauts. Has 1950's era eatery with a few decent beers on tap.
Brilliant sailing school. Ready to teach sailing basics to people with zero experience. Nice restaurant and great food.
I attended Jericho sailing Centre when I was a Sea Cadet. Started my love for sailing here. Visited the surrounding area recently and the centre still caters to many levels, abilities and ages. From young kids learning to sail, to seasoned sailors use the centre on a daily and weekly basis. I believe they still offer summer camps and sailing classes. The area they bis for sailing is a prime area. With relatively shallow waters, the launch ramp and beach are protected from high winds by the jetty and public dock where lots of people can be found crabbing or fishing. The sailing takes place nearby, with exposure to great winds. On weekends, one can find several classes out on the water or large red attar taking over the bay. It is expensive (for me) but then again, sailing isn't exactly a cheap sport. If you are looking into learning to sail or want your kid (s) involved in sailing, I definitely recommend Jericho.
Fun in the sun and water. Great sailing community. Great deck for beer and burgers. Rent a kayak or paddle board, lessons too. Fish or crab off of pier. One of the best places in summer.
Best Sun Deck in Vancouver. Good food and drink menu
Love it here! People are friendly and helpful. It is a great place to get connected with other ocean loving people.
Great view, had the fish and chips and it was great! Good beer as well
Great sailing community center, staff are awesome and has tons of history. Very accessible for any and all
Spanish Banks UBC, beautiful for sunsets and watching volley ball competitions. Great beach for a COOL swim
I'm a sailing instructor there and it is absolutely gorgeous there.
The Galley Restaurant offers good food in a fabulous marine setting overlooking Jericho Beach in English Bay.
Just completed the CanSail One course with the sailing club - great instructors, very approachable and calm. Helped me feel confident and capable even when the wind picked up and conditions became more challenging!
The first rule of Jericho Sailing Centre Patio is....never talk about Jericho Sailing Centre Patio?!!. Keep it secret!
Wonderful crew, convenient ramp, lovely place to do some sailing!
Great location, I belong to a sailing club here and the facilities are pretty good.
What a magic place to go, watch the sunset and have something to eat. Don t tell anyone though otherwise the whole of Vancouver will be there!
Excellent view from the second floor balcony. Available washroom space with food and water in the building.
Amazing place to go to enjoy good food and scenery and, perhaps, to learn how to kayak or paddleboard!
Great place to learn or rent sailing related activity. Windsurf, hobby cat , paddle board .
Enjoyed a day sailing and then a meal from the Galley
My friend did recommended me this place for agreat deal for kayaking and paddleboarding thoroughly membership for whole season. I have to try it !
Terrific venue for learning to sail. Prime location.
Only problem is The Galley, which I love, but find a tad overpriced.
Windsurfing sailing is good place, restaurant is also good
What a fantastic spot. Perfect for a family visit to the beach.
A true Vancouver gem. Best view and laid back Atmosphere.
I learned sailing here. It's really good place to start sailing.
Great food and views. A little pricey but expected.
A nice place to eat upstairs and to take sailing lessons for kids and adults.
Great community atmosphere and best patio in Vancouver.
Jericho Sailing Centre Association: Vancouver's Ocean Access Community Centre
The Jericho Sailing Centre Association (JSCA) is a non-profit organization located in Vancouver, Canada. It was established in 1974 with the aim of promoting and facilitating water-based activities for the community. The JSCA is situated on the shores of English Bay, at the foot of Discovery Street, and it offers access to some of the best sailing waters in North America.
The JSCA is a unique facility that caters to sailors, paddlers, rowers, windsurfers, kiteboarders and other ocean enthusiasts. It provides a safe and welcoming environment for people of all ages and skill levels to enjoy recreational activities on the water. The centre has over 1,000 members who come from all walks of life and share a passion for ocean sports.
One of the key features that sets JSCA apart from other sailing centres is its location. Situated at one end of Jericho Beach Park, it offers easy access to some of Vancouver's most beautiful beaches as well as stunning views across English Bay towards Stanley Park. The centre also benefits from being close to several popular restaurants and cafes which makes it an ideal spot for post-sailing socializing.
In addition to its prime location, JSCA boasts an impressive range of facilities including boat storage areas (both indoor and outdoor), changing rooms with showers and lockers as well as classrooms for training courses. There are also several boat rental options available including kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), windsurfing boards and dinghies.
For those looking to improve their skills or learn something new altogether there are plenty of opportunities available through JSCA's training programs which cater to both beginners and advanced sailors alike. These courses cover everything from basic safety procedures through advanced racing techniques so there really is something for everyone.
Another great aspect about JSCA is its commitment towards environmental sustainability. As an organization that relies heavily on natural resources such as wind and water they understand how important it is to protect these resources for future generations. They have implemented several initiatives aimed at reducing their carbon footprint such as using solar panels on their roof which generate electricity used throughout the facility.
Overall Jericho Sailing Centre Association provides an exceptional experience not only for those who love ocean sports but also anyone looking for a fun day out by the beach with friends or family members! With its prime location combined with top-notch facilities & training programs plus commitment towards environmental sustainability make this place truly unique among other sailing centers around North America!
