J C Penny has great merchandise at great prices. However, trying to contact the store customer service is horrible. The line will ring several times, then an automated message states the operator hasn't picked up and disconnects.
I ordered a Cooks 12 piece cookware on November 19, 2015 for store pick up. I was told it would take between 4-7 business days,excluding holidays and weekends. As of December 2, 2015, which is the eight business day, and I can't confirm whether or not the merchandise I purchased is at the Cedar Hill, TX store.
I will now attempt to drive to the store since i can't get anyone to assistance from neither the 1-800 number or the Cedar Hill store
My first store to shop at this holiday season and II am met with TERRIBLE Customer Service!!! I am the only one in line at the Jewelry counter and a million phone calls come in that take priorit over the customer at the register. I wait and wait and wait! She is customer Service too!! Not to mention she s so frazzled she can t stop and assist me! I find a manager and her basically blows me off! No thank you! I will spend my money elsewhere!
Was having trouble finding stuff not on sale (I know sounds stupid) but in order to save 40% you had to spend $40 on regular priced items. I brought this up to a sales associate and she said she'd take care of it. She left her Sephora area and checked me out. Wish I remembered her name. Great to see customer service is still alive and kicking.

Asked for help and the response was "ask someone else" from 3 seperate associates. Wouldn't recommend to ANYONE!
Was looking for a blouse the worker found it for me on the other side of women's size.

I went shopping with a gift card but alot of stuff was picked over and a 100dollars only goes so far so I got 2pair of shoes so it wasn't all bad

This place has horrible organization with online orders. I waited 2 weeks for an order to get to this store, and when I called to ask about it they simply told me I needed to drive there to get a refund.
Also, they sometimes do not answer the phone when you call. There were several times when I called (at different hours) and they never answered.
Stay away from this store if you're ordering online and having it shipped here. Will not be buying anything from them again.
Not enough help at this store...very short staffed around there. I placed a special order for some custom wooden shutters & went to the store to get an update. I asked for the lady who helped me by the name of Monica Hawkins who was very nice in helping and explaining everything to me. I was told by a supervisor, (LOD) I believe they call them, by the name of Paula, who had no idea of how to help me and didn't seem very interested in researching where my special order for my wooden Bali shutters were. I left the store with no answers.
The only person who was always around to assist me was Monica and now she's no longer there. It seems to me, that JCPenney loses their good employees. I called the store the next day, 8/10/2018, and spoke with another lady by the name of Kesha who is supposed to call me back after she researches where my order is. She called back but wasn't sure where it was. I told her that Monica had told me that she keeps the custom orders by the cash register in a file cabinet. Kesha said okay & that she will call me back again. I guess because it got close to closing time that she will hopefully call me back tomorrow with an update. In closing, all I can say is that the cost for my special order has been charged to me but no ideal of where my order is so I can get an update of the status. This isn't fair to me to be charged for a product I don't have nor know when I will receive it if the order is even found. They should really get Monica back as she seems to be the only one who knew what was going on with the custom blinds department.
Not the JCPenney that I worked for 30+ years ago. There were some pretty good sales but the store was in SHAMBLES and it was like looking for a needle in a haystack and no salespeople in the departments to assist. They may want to revisit their old concepts.
Nice selection... But customer service & speed at the register is TERRIBLE!!!! 12 people in line, but 1 person at the register! Another person came to help, but then the original lady left because she said she couldn't take it anymore! Another guy came to help, but then ran out of receipt paper! They had to call a manager to bring some, but if I hadn't told him to take it from a register that they weren't using until the manager came. During all this time 20 people in line & 30 min wait!!!!
If you're one of the younger people like me that's trying to shop there, you wont find much that you like. Each time I'm there, not once has an associate offered to help me or even say hello. The customer service needs to improve. There's some decent quality stuff in there, but it's just not a place I see that will last long with the times.

Went there to find long socks for my nephew. When walked in the staff was nice and directed me in the right direction. The selection was not that good though. Went back to dillards
They did not care about helping and just walked a way from you as fast as they can

The cashiers could benefit from being more pleasant or perhaps working at a place that they would enjoy verses working at a store that they like to shop at. Other than that - I love my heels

I love JCP. I went in to get bras. They had buy one get one free. Also, my size is 34G. Something that's hardly ever in stores but JCP never disappoints.
The intimate apparel dept is a total mess or maybe disaster! Alot of the areas look that way there. People are nice but the place needs help!

If you've ever called and no one picked up...it's the employees at this place not caring to pick up the phone. I was just there yesterday and two employees weren't ashamed to say in front of several customers (as the phone rang) that they never pick up the phone ! One employee said she never picks up the phone because she has NEVER been trained to do so!
Today was shopping in the Cedar Hill tx store, my daughter had a emergency, my other daughter went to get help, no one in the store came to our assist. I had to call 911, when emergency help came, still no one from the store came. I guess to get someone to come to your assist is put something in you pocket, will not shop in this store or order anything on line from JCP again.

I support JCPenney's I dislike the Skeleton Crew I wish they would look at it differently in terms of Staffing the employees that are working are kept so busy that I have to send out a search party most of the time before I find what I need I love the clothing selection and most of all the great possibilities for JCPenney to remain an icon
Great sales but checkout is always busy....takes about 15 mins just waiting.
Quality merchandise sold by accommodating people. JCPenney has been in my life for...ever. It is a tradition. My mother used to take us there, I took my kids there, and I still go there. The quality has stood the test of time. I always know that Penney's is there when I need them. The sales staff is friendly and helpful. The store is always clean, and they maintain a large variety of goods that provide, almost, a one stop shop for all your home and clothing needs.
I was quite impressed with the staff in their knowledge of whether product was and the cleanliness of the store it seems like everybody was willing to help me in that store got to the checkout counter they were very professional look at all my options as relates to saving me money and asked me about my number and was I member which I am only shop at JCPenney and I will continue to shop there because of this great story and Cedar Hill Texas

I visited their photo studio for my baby's pictures and they were great. Both ladies were super patient and helpful. They did a great job with the pictures and we are definitely going back and I recommend.
I want to give a BIG!! Thanks to Julliana in the shoe department. She went above and beyond to assist me. In stead of transferring me like the operator did the previous 8 times that I called, she actually stated...let me see if I can help you, and she did. For a moment there, I was starting to think this store had the poorest phone customer service.

Jcpenny was great but I don't like the fact that they've shut down all of the checkout counters. I went to pick up an order and they only have 1 counter for orders, checkout, returns and so on. The line for this option was as long as a Christmas list and the counter only had 3 cashiers. This option will surely send me elsewhere.

This store is hard to shop. Clothes all over the floor. A thrift store looks cleaner and more Shoppable than that store.

Bought the boots before Black Friday started online for $20 each. Went today to pick them up. Easy ordering..had to wait in line a bit but not so bad.
A wonderful day since the stores or had many people and we could walk more fully and buy better, shorter lines to pay.

Upon entering I was greeted, and directed to the section I was looking for. I appreciated the fact that they have a husky section, my 8yr old has put on some summer pounds. It wasn't stocked well so I couldn't find much in my son's size, and there was no one in the children's department near enough to help. However, I am considering it's back to school time and clothes are scarce everywhere, can't wait to give it another try, there they had some good sales.
I've always loved this store but the lady in the jewelry dept. "Monica" has a nasty attitude, was very snappy. I guess because it's father's day weekend the store was packed with ppl. I can understand being a little frustrated but customer service is not for everyone, especially her. I hope she finds a job not dealing the public or invest in anger management or at least take classes on some ppl skills. I will continue to go to the store because I like the store but I will not do business with her.
