Love coming to this cultural centre. Staff is always friendly. The Nostalgia nights & film events are always fun with great food served. The favourite is the history on the Japanese-Canadian baseball & hockey teams. Always a pleasure visiting this place.
Excellent venue for community events, receptions, banquets, cultural festivals and art exhibitions!
I used to train in Iaido at the JCCC, they have very beautiful dojos for many martial arts. They also host some awesome events, movie nights, and festivals - some of which I have volunteered at.
Definitely recommended to anyone looking for a cultural experience.
Very nice place. I could feel magic japanese atmosphere over there.
It gives you a better appreciation of the Japanese Canadian Culture and keeps people in touch with their roots. The staff and volunteers are always friendly. During the bazaars, you can buy a variety of items and food. Very nice.
I have actually been to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre before and the last time I was there the gallery was Not ready and they were still in the process of setting it all up.
They recently had a Grand Opening for Bryce Kanbara the artist, however, I missed it, however, his exhibition is till going on until Sunday, March 18, 2018 and so You have plenty of time to see it.
Thankfully I saw his artwork today and it was Very Nice!
I want to personally Thank Bryce Kanbara for putting on such a fine display of his artwork and Thank Sue for helping Me make my Youtube Video back on Sunday, February 11, 2018.
Sincerely yours,

Great place with interesting activities. I went with my mom on Mother's day and we saw the Sakura trees around the building and there was a very nice flower show inside.
We always enjoy the photo museum here. Everyone should take a few moments to give some thought to what Canada did to Canadians from Japan during the second world war. The gardens and the entire facility is lovely, such a calming serene place.
So much goes on here! Clean. Concession stand always has some great Japanese snacks. Been here for the summer festival and the Japanese film festival.
Lots to see here. The museum room is very interesting.
It is a clean, quiet and multi-functional community centre for Japanese. Honestly, Japanese is a very small community in GTA so the centre doesn't have many events or activities going all the time. Hopefully the centre can arrange more events and shows in future.
Always a delight to waltz through the decor and abundance of such a historical building!
Was there attending annual natsu matsuri. Nice performances and dances. Cultural center itself had art and sculptures displayed. Scale model of historic Osaka was very detailed!!
A wide range of cultural events all year from movies, to festivals, to martial arts lessons.
A nice place to have a cultural or religious function.
Great place to learn more about the Japanese culture.
It is a wonderful place to convey Japanese culture.
The lecture hall, Tatami dojo, floor dojo facilities are substantial.
Excellent dojo. Sensei Varga teaches high quality judo that works on and off the mat.
This place offers a ton of experiences. There's yearly festivals, lessons in Japanese language, martial arts, crafts, and food.
I went there for the textur'd hair show with my daughter. The place was relatively nice but their lights and sound system sucks. Their chairs were also uncomfortable but the fashion show at the end more than made up for it. Whoever designed those dresses must be very be talented
Great place to expose my 9yr old to Japanese culture
Very well run by kind, considerate and knowledgeable people. I always look forward to going there.
Was here for an unrelated conference twice. It is quite serene and spacious. Love seeing foreign culture expressed in Canada.
I like the atmosphere. It is a very zen like with excellent facilities for the family.
Great people and a large clean place to host events
Great place to visit and learn from. The events are always well organized.
I went here for the Nagata Shachu & Shogo Yoshii drumming show which was outstanding. Even though the chairs for the hall were high school style basketball court seating with some cushion, the place was nice decorated and the atmosphere was very relaxed. I think I would go back here for another show.
One of those places that I always feel welcome to visit again
That's it, the dishes are not very amazing, not eaten... Maybe the dishes of the day are not the ones I like! However, environmental services are very good...
Great place to watch the International Japanese Film Festival. Everyone is nice, courteous and polite which makes it great to watch movies.
Great space. Karate courses , Ikido, flower arrangement, calligraphy, history, language and much more. Plenty of parking. Wonderful place. Bring the whole family... Something for everyone. Plus. +--++ garage sale and silent auctions once a year... Love it :)
It is a beautiful building with a lot wonderful art and history. I was there for a convention, it is a excellent space for that. I will be back again.
Beautiful building! We had a meeting here and the space was really nice!
Expositions, events, food and a lot more, creating a link to de Japanese culture.
Really love the Japanese film festival they have yearly. Good place to learn about the history and culture of Japanese Canadians.
Clean and beautiful place with a few fun events. I really like their art gallery.
Beautiful and well maintained grounds and facilities. Plenty of art, programs and events. An excellent resouce for learning and understanding the history and contributions of Japanese-Canadians.
The New Year celebration festival was a great event. Great food, Japanese traditional dance and music. Entertainment for kids and adults. I highly recommend.
Great place to experience Japanese culture and join a cultural group
Great place to visit. The history museum is small but interesting. The special exhibit area often has very interesting art. Lots of other on-going and special events for everyone. The cherry blossoms are worth seeing in the spring.
Very friendly people and an excellent sake tasting event
A very interesting place, didn't expect to be a huge place. I wonder how it is when there's an event... That would be interesting
Came here for the anime matsuri festival and it was amazing. They have so much culture and activities to offer ranging from martial arts to flower arranging to learning basic Japanese. Definitely a great community to get involved in.
Large place, the large conference room is comfortable.
The Canadian National Kickboxing Tournament has been held here several times in the past 14 years and is always a sign of quality event. We were at the JCCC for this purpose. The JCCC is a quality facility constructed with a Japanese minimalist sensibility and architectural cues that are unmistakably Japanese. The landscaping does not escape the overall design and execution of a calming focused optimism - especially in the spring bloom. The surrounding trees on the property are beautiful and provide for great social spaces.
If you have a reason to visit or are planning a suitable event I would consider the JCCC as an upscale, non-pretentious but high quality multipurpose venue. Great memories and a good vibe!
I did not fully vet accessibly but noted handicap parking was ideally located.
Great place for Japanese Culture. Have been to several events there. A little inconvenient if you don't have a car as the transit options are cumbersome.
Very nice atmosphere, lovey dishes. Great venue. Food creation and plating was excellent. Taste was in the salty side unfortunately.
Great place! Shows the best of Japanese culture. Offers a wide variety of courses in different aspects of Japanese culture, from different forms of martial arts to flower arrangements to language, etc. Everything with the refined Japanese taste.
Nice place. Clean and well organized. They have a huge parking lot that wraps around the building.
The washrooms are very clean and large.
Would be a great place to rent space for events.
We had so much fun at the Japanese New Years celebration. Amazing. Thank you for a great time!!
Participate in events, martial arts and activities related to Japanese culture. The selection changes every season
This is an absolutely fantastic centre to come to. There's something for everyone. The staff is welcoming and kids can habe the vest judo or otherwise Japanese martial arts experience!!
Best place to visit to learn about Japanese culture in Toronto. The library carries many Japanese books and DVDs including ones for kids. You can borrow them for free if you are a JCCC member and it is totally worth to be a member. You can experience Japanese arts, movies, festivals, food and much more (also members receive some discounts). It's also good place to just visit to relax. I hope the little tuck shop has better food options though it is not enough to take any stars off of the review.
A lovely, welcoming place full of culture and pride. We've come here for a concert and for Japanese language classes and everyone, staff and patrons alike, are respectful and happy to see you.
This is because it is a place of rest and a place of rest for the Japanese and pro-Japanese families.
They always have fabulous festivals celebrating winter, the new year, spring, and summer. The Toronto Japanese Film Festival is the best in the world outside of Japan. They have amazing cultural classes including award winning martial arts, ikebana, shodo, bunka, and sumiye. And their art gallery highlights the talent of JC artists while the museum tells the story of Japanese Canadian history - from early immigration through interment to today.
