We were here helping stuff envelopes with the JCCC monthly newsletter destined to go out to members. I was hoping that Ken would show up - maybe next time eh? It was a fun event as usual...
Wonderfull place, full of nice people and rich culture.
New Year celebration today until 3 pm. Lots of amazing food and events!
Great spot with lots of things to see and do. The spring festival was great. Everyone is very friendly!
Nice and spacious, well layout and organized place.
The JCCC - that's three Cs - is an amazing cultural centre right in our own backyard. From beautiful productions featuring traditional Japanese music groups to their language classes, it's a great place to begin your experience in a culture with a ditch history without the jet lag. I'm currently enrolled in the beginner language class and I feel very welcome here.
This is the worst place to take martial arts. The instruction is poor and the classes are jam packed-- way too many people.
Nice building. Quite spacious. Sufficient parking space. JCCC hosts cultural events and activities every month. I ve been there several times as event vendor. Glad to have business opportunities there and learn the Japanese culture as well.
Attended a Martial Arts tournament at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Center on April 21st,2018 ...My 7 yr old granddaughter won 2 medals. Both 2nd place. We really enjoyed our visit and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Awesome facility. We can't wait to come back!!
Visited the Textured Hair Show to support our friend Stephanie's vision. Great space and a great show.
Thank you to the Japanese Canadian cultural center for hosting #WizzKidz concerts for many years in a row! We disrupt the natural flow of center's organicly flowing life, but music is a positive force that brings energy and cultivates future motivations of our kids to pursue piano. We sincerely thank you for having us and our kids!
I came here for professional development. If it had not been for work I would never have known this place exists. Having been here now, though, I highly recommend giving it a visit. Very interesting and lovely Place hidden away on Wynford Drive.
Took japanese language class here for a fairly cheap price. The teacher was very good and made concepts easy to understand.
Nice place, will be here for event at least twice every year.
Wow! The food, the events, and all of the great culture! A must see!
We attend the movie festival every year with stars and diplomats showing up regularly. It is a really enjoyable time. Good sushi to be had before a show! They also have movie nights once a month so if you are good with sub-titles or you speak Japanese then you will enjoy yourself. Just bring a seat cushion with you ... the theatre seats are not really comfortable. My wife is Japanese which is how I ended up visiting the first time and finding the place very welcoming and very much wanting to share the Japanese culture.
an interesting place to visit
could use a bigger Japanese-style garden outside the building for visitors to take photos
A hidden gem in the City of Toronto. The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre is beautiful. Go for a visit to learn more about Japanese culture and the history of Japanese Canadians.
Great place in Toronto to get a slice of the local Japanese culture.
Love going here, the atmosphere is very relaxing and is just an all around amazing place to learn about Japanese culture in Canada.
Best Japanese culture experience in Toronto but very car-freindly location.
Went for an event - there's plenty of free parking if you arrive early. Washrooms and a snack store in building.
My son went there for year end piano class concerts. Nice auditorium with a big enough stage.
A really great community centre for Japanese and Japanophiles. Lots of activities hosted here including several matsuri events, Obon, and a film festival. This is in addition to the usual martial arts classes.
so nice and their judo fighting area is on a sprung floor. no pain. and they have a canteen for a great price with good food
So much History from our Japanese Canadian friends. Truly, an important part of our heritage. The building showcases all of it. Lots of parking. Lots of access for the Disabled. Well done!
Visit this place you might learn a thing or two....
Wonderful place with lovely people willing to share information and stories.
I took a few classes here, a clean and comfy place to stay and learn, also the theater is great, culture experiences here. Except the receptionist is not as friendly as I expect.. I guess depends on who takes the shift.
Beautifully designed with great affordable programs on a variety of disciplines.
Good choice for arranging a small conference (e.g. 100 participants)
Japanese culture is very rich and unique. Unfortunately this doesn't represent itself here. No sign of Japanese movies, poetry, stories, animes.
Great serene place. Wide variety of activities and experiences offered.
Traffic around the area is terrible due to construction, but a neat venue for unique experiences not downtown Toronto.
This is a hub for Japanese culture, located in Don Mills. Lots to learn and lots of interesting places near by if you have the time to spare. I make time to visit around the Japanese film festival and explore the Aga Khan Museum. Great atmosphere and I always leave with a wealth of knowledge about the culture.
Went for the Japanese summer festival, it was a lot of fun. Street food and entertainers then got to go inside and take a tour. Fun time.
This place is amazing love the Japanese festival that had
Very nice art gallery and displays. Was there for Spring festival and that was really nicely done. Food options were good and people were so friendly. Had a very enjoyable time.
I went there for the Aikido classes for many years. The instructors and students were friendly, helpful and passionate about sharing their knowledge with everyone. The centre itself has so much to offer anyone interested in learning more about Japan and the Japanese people who came to Canada. Wonderful ambiance, various celebrations of things japaneae, as well as many other japanese martial arts for people to learn.
Nice, small museum, wonderful festivals once every season and beautiful location.
Beautiful building. Nice people. Always something interesting
Great community center, martial arts classes, languages, Thursdays movie night. Amazing Japanese architecture.
The JCCC is an amazing cultural center right in our my own neighbourhood. From a beautiful productions featuring traditional Japanese music groups to their cool linguistic classes, this is a great place to begin your experience in a culture with a ditch history without the jet lag. I'm currently enrolled in the newbie language class and I feel very welcome here because the staff are so nice.
Don't host your event here, they are so disorganized and will try to overcharge you.
Great time in the Japanese festival (the 2nd Saturday in July every year)
Excellent dance/convention venue. All room floors (and some hallway floors) are danceable. There are multiple large event rooms, and several smaller rooms across two floors. Some rooms have dividers and fold-away seating for more flexible layout. All of the event rooms have sufficient power for DJ operations.
Superbe place, full of tranquility and close to Romanian hearts!!
Today is september 8th 2020. Closed until april due to covid. This review doesn't state that
Visiting here is similar to being in Japan. By this I mean, the attention to details, the atmosphere, ...there is an order to things that is uniquely Japanese. Visit during an event like New Years (Jan 1) or the spring festival.
Great Aikido classes... A lot of issues traditions and activity
If you're into Japanese culture. You must visit this place.
Always nice to visit during their various festivals. Friendly atmosphere, great facilities.
Pretty awesome but there is no ATM in there and a lot of their events are cash only
Enjoyed myself checking out all the yarns. Won a door prize
A great venue for holding conferences and workshops
Great place to experience the Japanese culture. Japanese martial arts class available.
Beautiful and peaceful facility. Hope to return again for an event.
