Overpriced for the portions that you get. This place used yo be very good but got too popular and just lowered quality.
French toasts were below average, poached eggs over crab cakes were a joke, tiny and ok taste.
Ambience is really pleasent and servicio is always good.

Came here for brunch. We had their Vanilla Bean French Toast, Roasted Shrimp "Ranchero", and Benedict Jane.

In terms of the french toast, I think the french toast at Penelope is much better. Didn't taste much of the vanilla flavor. Even though they do give you Vermont maple syrup, the bread they used just wasn't good enough. As a result, I had to poor TONS of the syrup to even make it taste good.

The Roasted Shrimp Ranchero was a real heavy dish. Had tortillas, beans, salsa, and avocado. Just think of it as guacamole dish with salsa with eggs on top. That's it. The dish was hearty, but I didn't like it that much.

My favorite was the Benedict Jane. You could taste the crab and the eggs were poached perfectly. Yolk was runny, just how it should be. It also had pepper in it which gave it a nice spice to it. I would definitely recommend this dish.

I'll have to come back here again to see what other dishes are worth getting again. So far, 1 for 3.

The decor of this place reminded me of Norma. Kind of upscale brunch dining. Service was decent, no real complaints here.

I would definitely come back here one more time to find their redeeming dishes.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday at 12:15 and made the reservation through Open Table. They gave us the booth in the back corner which was quite spacious and good since we had an unexpected fifth friend join us. The waitress was quick to take our orders and consistently refilled our waters. I got the ham popover which had gruyere cheese along with a side salad. The popover was flakey and warm. It was a decent size for brunch but if you re hungry, you might want to also get a side. We ordered a plate of fries to share for the table and that was a good move. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned. The bathrooms are located downstairs to the left. It was pretty crowded but you could also sit at the bar where it s first-come, first-serve. They let us split the bill with five cards and there s a tablet thing alongside the bill where you could fill out a survey on your experience. Overall it s a decent brunch spot and it s close to the Morgensterns so you could get a quick dessert afterwards.

As a DC resident, brunch is a big part of my weekend diet. Since I was in NYC for the weekend, I decided to try out NY's brunch scene. Jane had a lot of good reviews and came highly recommended from friends as a good spot to brunch.

The service was amazing and the food was incredibly rich and well prepared. The french toast was one of the best I have ever personally had.

Unfortunately for my visit, New York still prohibited restaurants from serving alcohol before noon so I wasn't able to get the typical brunch experience I have at home in DC. That said, now that the law now allows them to start serving at 10 am, I will be back and hopefully can brunch properly this time!

The food was good, but portions were small and overall it was overpriced. The restaurant was way too packed with people to the point where it was a bit uncomfortable. Service was good and notably friendly.

Jane has the best brunch ever, period! The food is so so good every time, and the service is always friendly. Love everything on the menu literally. All of the Benedict dishes are cooked to perfection, and the popover with farmer s omelette is just yum. We always order the French toast as dessert for the table to share and it NEVER disappoints. Oh did I mention they never kick us out either? They always let us stay to chat for hours, after we paid, and they even offered us water! That s why this is always our brunch place of choice!!!!

BEWARE! CALCULATE YOUR OWN TIP!!!! (SEE BELOW)

We came here for our anniversary. At first it seemed great, they gave us complimentary champagne. Then they started pressuring us to drink more. When we said we weren't drinking, our waiter got lost and we were without water until our food came. The only time our waiter came back up to us was when he asked if we wanted another alcoholic beverage. We politely declined and said we really didn't want any other drinks like 5 times. Even the manager came back up to us and asked if she could refill our glasses with champagne, but we don't really drink, so again we said no. Then we ordered, the food came out looking like this, but we ordered our steaks medium and they both came out super rare. So what they did, unlike the other fine dining restaurants we've eaten at, was take the already cut into steak and pan seared it a little more. It came back looking like a piece of garbage. It tasted good at least.

******* BUT THE THING THAT REALLY GOT ME WAS THE CHECK! MAKE SURE YOU CALCULATE THE TIP YOURSELF BECAUSE THEIR NUMBERS ARE PURPOSEFULLY OFF.

Our bill was 70$ with tax and the suggested tip of 20% was 18$. That math doesn't add up. We always give at least 22% but after noticing how deceptive they were with the bill, we only gave 20%... Actually 20% (which was 14$,) not 18$.

It seems they rely on you getting drunk so you don't notice how much the tip suggestion is skewed. If you don't take it from me, go there and see for yourself.

A must visit the restaurant for a drink and snack lovers. Jane is always available with bar drinks and delicious snacks. They have take-out, home delivery, parking lot and a vegetarian option. Special foods include French toast, Eggs Benedict, Benedict Johnny.

I have been to Jane a few times and sadly my satisfaction has decreased each time I went. I use to enjoy their food but have found lately that the quality is lacking. The french toast is way too thick and not as moist as I had hoped. The eggs are bland yet their fish sandwich was ridiculously fried. I will say the salmon salad was pretty good. One thing that is addictive is their french fries and brussel sprouts. This place does seem to be popular, there is certainly a lively buzz around the restaurant on both levels. During brunch you need to wait at least an hour, even if you have a reservation there is a wait. That, plus the price, plus the eh food makes me not really want to come back.

Place was absolutely amazing. I've never been in a place where the food was delicious and the bathrooms were clean. To be honest, I wish they served my meal to me while I was in the bathroom. That would be the only way the rating could be any higher.

The food is great, and the service is good, but I dislike the location. It's very preppy, and has a bit of a hipster-vibe. Brunch is great, and they have complementary cocktail and/or juice (either on Saturday or Sunday, I forget). I always go for the eggs benedict!

Little known fact (perhaps not so much, haha): The Smith is the brother restaurant of Jane. It's just as good in my opinion, has a more mature vibe, and has less of a line to deal with.

I really liked Jane's. I only visited once when I went to the city with my mother. We went as a spur of the moment trip, so didn't really have plans of where we wanted to eat, we just wanted to try somewhere we had never been. What stood out to me the most about this place was the service. Our drinks were constantly re-filled and our table was cleared completely for desserts right after we finished our meal. The staff was attentive during our entire meal constantly checking in to be sure everything was nothing less than perfect.

When we came here for dinner, we were seated immediately without any wait. I had the Steak Frites which was tasty but nothing special. My friend ordered the Duck because the server said the plate looks like Christmas. He was right and the dish was amazing - actually far better than mine.

I've tried to get brunch here before but the wait is always long. Next time, I'll just have to make a reservation ahead of time though. I do like how you can leave your phone number and they'll text you when your table is ready which is far better than a bulky buzzer.

This place is probably a 4 but I'm bumping it up to a 5 solely for the vanilla bean french toast. OM.G. Super soft (but not soggy) french toast texture reminded me of bread pudding. The vanilla bean flavor was really pure and prominent but not too strong. Simply amazing. For weekend brunch, you get a drink with your food! It's a great deal. This place is always really busy but service was still really good.

A nice place for lunch and dinner. Tasty burger and fries. Refreshing gazpacho. Brussels sprouts burnt. Several of our mussels were not fully cooked. Service could be more attentive. One of our order was missed.

I ate the course, but the meat was completely low-quality and it was frozen and overcooked.
(The side-in fries were more delicious)
Dont...well the clam chowder was good!
Personal thought,
Maybe everyone was drunk on New York Pong and was delicious

The experience at Jane was great. Food was delicious and nicely presented. Had the Brussels Sprouts to start, always good, cooked beautifully. Delicious and crispy. Entree was the Jane burger; again delicious and the generous serving of fried was great.

A popular brunch spot in Greenwich Village, Jane is one of the most quintessential NYC experiences. Make sure to make a reservation in advance of your meal, especially on Sundays when all entrees come with a complimentary boozy beverage. The plates are all delicious and reasonably priced; I'm a fan of the Benedict Johnny and the French Toast is one of the best in the city. Service is capable of handling the crowds, so you're in good hands here.

I have to be honest and say that my first time was for dinner and I was very disappointed. But we gave it a second chance, this time for Sunday Brunch and it was spectacular. Everything was perfect and the menu selections are great. It was so hard that we each picked a dish for our main meal and had the French Toast for dessert. I feel like giving 5 stars but I can't forget my first experience.

Went there for a late Sunday brunch there recently. The food was very good. Loved almost all of the items that we ordered.
French toast is a must try! I usually don't like them, but the one here is very good indeed. Kale and eggs was another good dish. Liked the fact that it wasn't overpowered by adding too much quinoa, was just perfect.
The other items were usual brunch fares - Benedict's, avocado toasts n burgers. Can't go wrong with them.
Ordered sides of Brussels sprouts, were done perfectly! Pity they didn't come with any sauces, but asking for aioli easily fixed it.
Coffee was good too.
Service was good and friendly. We waited almost an hour after paying the check and they were cool with it, as there were many empty tables. Decently priced.

Definitely a place worth going again..

I am not the biggest fan of brunch, but when in NYC, it is a must since NYC = amazing food. We found this place on Yelp and it was in lower Manhattan near our Airbnb apartment.

When you go inside, the atmosphere is a bit underwhelming (that's the only thing that prevented me from rating this a 5). It looks very stale and corporate. However, the food is amazing.

They give each table a basket of bread with strawberry butter (so good). My struggle at brunch is whether or not I want savory or sweet. The french toast is world renowned here, but I decided to go with the Three Finger Quiche and I made a great decision. The piece of quiche is big and it comes with an excellent yet simple arugula salad. The quiche may be the best I've had.

My wife got the Jane eggs benedict and had no regrets. The best part were the potatoes it came with and she is already trying to find a way to recreate it at home. AMAZING!

Our group of 6 had Mothers' Day brunch at Jane. We each ordered a different dish. Unfortunately, not a single one of us enjoyed our dish. The food came out warm, not hot. None of the dishes had any flavors that stood out. We were all extremely disappointed. Especially having paid an average of $22 per dish just for brunch that did not taste restaurant quality. I'm guessing Mothers' Day might've affected the quality of the food seeing the high reviews from other patrons.

It's good at accomdating groups and has a variety of selection but the food is just okay. I have only come for brunch but the mushroom omlette and home fries was truely terrible that I would never come if it wasn't my friend's suggestion for a girl's brunch. So this time I stay clear of brunch menu and went for a burger which was greasy and satisfying. Cocktails are decent.

Went to eat a late breakfast brunch after a wedding appointment a little south of Houston Street. We hit a perfect time with no wait for a Table of 5. They had breakfast Bellini's which were delicious and all five of us order different items and each was amazing. They didn't rush us out either although there was quite a line waiting for a table by the time we left.

Brunch is a New York thing, and even though its not for me, you need to do it every once in a while. Jane had a good brunch menu, it was a bit on the heavy side, but goes down well after a night of drinking. The atmosphere here is pretty relaxed, and its a great spot to hang out have your brunch and do some people watching on Houston.

Very expensive menu with no price on it , the food was horrible and the cocktail drinks disgusted, I order sweet heat taste like I was drinking poison, waiter was cool , comfortable environment feels like your at home, be prepare to spend 80 to 100 dollars on crappie food , I rather eat at Wendy for less, and the table wait time was 35 minutes
