This place is a hidden gem for sure.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here and will certainly come again! The flour tortilla chips are enough to spoil your appetite if you can't stop eating them! (My boyfriend had to stop me from asking for more! Haha!) The manager also welcomed us to the restaurant after we notified the waiter that it was our first time there. We were given a "welcome tamale" which was a pleasant surprise!

The atmosphere inside is relaxing with dim lighting, though if being outside is more your style they have a cool looking patio section.

If only this place served horchata! That was my only gripe! Thanks for the great dining experience Jalapeno Inferno!

Very very good Mexican food! I've had several items off the menu and love most everything. This location is way better than DC ranch. Both quality and service is better here. One of my favorite items is the Baja shrimp tacos, all if the tacos are very good but the Baja shrimp is my person must have. Fajitas are amazing, most encheladas especially green chili and boss margarita is how a margarita is made. None of the bs syrups or sugary garbage. Just good tequila, a splash of orange liquor and a splash or lime.

have been there several times...once in the dining room and the other at the bar.
Food is fair to average. Ambiance...so so.
A good mix of patrons...family's, Seniors, to millennials. Service....not so good. Particularly in the bar. Slow to approach/ greet, a rushed attitude, and not that forth coming. In addition, the bar area is not kept orderly....plates/ glass's left on bar and stand ups after customers have left.....way to long
Lastly, the staff is basically inattentive.,.. Both in the dining room and bar.
Hard pressed to recommend and probably won't be returning....there's better out there.

1st day in Scottsdale and was looking for a easy late lunch. I ordered Monster Nachos and beer, I enjoyed it. Nice outside seating. Will return. PS my wife and I could only eat 1/2 of it. I took it home and made soup with it. One of the best, tastiest soups I've ever made. Add 1 can of beef broth, 1 can of Rotex stewed tomatoes chili, & 1/2 can S&W chili beans with sauce, 1/2 drained. Yes.

This place is the best. From the service to the food. I loved it so much i went two days in a row to eat there. So many choices. Good happy hour prices as well and for first-timers make sure you let them know.

Lunch specials are served 7 days a week, but only a few bucks separates them from the regular menu. The healthy burrito was tasty and had nice chicken chunks and good guacamole. The lunch fajitas wwere good too with all the usual stuff and white meat strips.

Once had bought a groupon for here. It was nearing the expiration date. I called them and asked if I could use it for take out as I had the flu. They said no, dine in only. They place a higher value on making a sick man suffer and getting everyone else sick in the restaurant over the slight chance I might also buy a beer. Shows you the real priorities. They would put the CHANCE of $4 in extra revenue as more important then you getting sick. Think about that before eating here.

Best salsa in the world! Mild and flavorful. Add the flour tortilla chips and it's culinary heaven on earth! Definitely try the green corn tamale, but the cobb salad at Market Street is also amazing.

The all you can eat ground beef tacos had zero flavor. The refried beans were salty and the rice was dry. Our server was having some difficulty with correct beverage information which was the least of our concerns. Used to be really good food. What happened..... ?

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The restaurant was busy. Service was prompt and the waitress was friendly. Ceviche is my absolute favorite appetizer and this place has the best version; hands down. Large portion of chopped prawns, not too saucy, fresh herbs and chopped peppers/cucumbers in a sizable cocktail glass. I had a salad, husband had tacos and son had nachos...every one left happy. Great food, fun atmosphere, convenient location. Go!

Best described as southwestern style Mexican food, lots of green chilli options. Guac and queso were solid. Service was attentive and prompt. Whole beans appear to be black beans instead of pintos, but the refried beans tasted like pintos. I had the rellenos topped with green chilli pork and it was quite good. My companions enjoyed shrimp fajitas and lobster tacos and liked their choices. Definitely worth it if you're hankering for some Mexican food.

Love this place. Always good food served promptly and for a reasonable price. Excellent variety on the menu and really enjoy both the baked and fried chips. Tasty salsa. Fun when the Hatch chilies are in season - always special menu items.

Love the chips and salsa. My wife loves the flour chips. I prefer the traditional. Good thing they provide both!

We've been here maybe a dozen times. All the entrees have been great. My current fav is the Signature Fundido... but honestly we come here for the flan. We never leave without getting flan.

You've gotta come when the hatch green chilis are in season! They have a great special menu during that time!

Interesting place, I didn't like the half flour half corn chips it's weird. People with certain food allergies can't eat that. Anyways, the enchiladas were excellent if you like Tex Mex, ground beef ones they are probably my favorite Tex Mex enchiladas I've had in Arizona so far . The tamale appetizer is a brick it's huge, pretty good but don't order it if you aren't hungry. The shredded beef taco was good the meat had flavor. The menu was odd, the West Texas barbacoa description is not barbacoa, I'm from Texas and no one calls that barbacoa. There's also food from Argentina and other places which was cool, just confusing. The watermelon margarita was eh, but it will get you trashed so be careful because they are strong. The outside of the building is kinda fancy the inside not so much. I actually really liked it. Overall it was pretty darn good.

Wow, such a HUGE disappointment for a first time visitor. I ordered take-out. Ordered a couple hard shell tacos and a bean toastada. I'm literally 5 min away. Had to wait about 10 min to get my food. Got home and there was so much grease in the bag that the tacos turned to mush. I couldn't even pick them up. Disgusting. the toastada was again mush when i tried to pick it up. I guess the best part were the mints on the way out. Pretty sad what a waste of a dinner. Next time I'll go to the Bell

We came in late not knowing that they would be closing soon. Everyone was very nice and food and drinks were great. Sat on the patio and they turned the heaters on for us. Thanks and we will be back!

I love this place. I don't go there often but the food and prices are great. Special nod on this trip, that the waitress recognized my girlfriend was GF by her order/questions(she doesn't like to make a big deal) and made sure they brought corn chips only(normally it's a mix of flour and corn).

I have been eating here off and on for years, over the past couple of years. Food quality and Service has dropped. On a recent trip 1/21/11 Beans and Rice tasted Old. me and my date had ordered differant types of tacos. both of our tacos were placed in the beans, last time I checked tacos are a finger food and the last thing I want are beans on my fingers. When I spoke to the waitress about this she just blew me off. I could understand if they where busy but the resturant was only half full. Also $12.00 for 2 tacos is a little pricy in my book.

Nice little Mexican restaurant. Not a big chain so family owned and ran. They have amazing green chili tamale with tasty sweet corn. Just the right amount of sauce and melted cheese on them. It's really really good I'm telling you if you like sweet corn green chili tamale.

Local Mexican food staple. I've always had a good experience here. One thing you'll nice (and love) right away is they place a mix of fried corn AND flour tortilla chips on your plate. Always a hopping place for lunch dinner or happy hour. Great margaritas as well.

Some of their food is quite good. Their chips and salsa are actually superlative in our experience, and my wife loves the Chile Rellenos. Beyond that, however, options become average or below. While I enjoyed my BBQ chicken taco, the carne asada was relatively bland and the mahi mahi street taco was unimpressive. The black beans accompanying were not bad, but the rice was dry and overcooked. Fajitas are a relatively safe bet, but with the plethora of options for Mexican cuisine in the area, this isn't our favorite.

Scottsdale + Pinnacle Peace location
2 visits within a week time (had to use gift cards before they expired) and both times the experience was unsatisfactory for this that has been top notch for so long. Loyal customer for over 20 years.
Unfortunately the current kitchen staff are sub par at best (did they just learn how to cook the menu?).
There seems to be all new managers as well, they are attempting to please all the complains and mistakes in a timely manner, but is it really doing any good? There are still a few of the veteran servers, but not the best ones. The new servers do not seem to know the menu or accommodate the customers special request.
The food, upon receiving food there was definite differences to what is/was normally served. Smaller potions, prepared differently, and all priced the same.
This place, at least this location, seems to be in a reboot or rebuild. Need to practice and make great strides to get back to there normal high standards they were known for.
I certainly hope that this location can get their high standards back in place, I do not want to give up on this place after 20 years.
Will a owner or manager acknowledge this review???

Gave JI another try because we recieved gift cards. Previous two, experiences were not good or bad, just average. Ordered street tacos and a shrimp enchilada. Carne asada was flavorful, however excessive amounts of half melted cheese left the tacos greasy. Shrimp enchilada look delicious, but tasted like it got hit by a salt grenade. Really glad it came with fresh chips and salsa. 0/3, this place is not for me.
