I've heard good things about this place, but man it was bad. Bland salsa, mediocre tamales, good steak fajitas, and soupy, bland cast iron chicken. Not going back.

Having read the reviews for this place I came here with my parents expecting it to be ok but the food was actually kind of bad. The chips were alright but the salsa had way too much cilantro in it. They even mixed cilantro in with the lettuce. I personally hate cilantro so I didn't like that at all but even my mom who enjoys cilantro thought it was too much and called the lettuce inedible. The plates all came out burning hot and it was obvious by the dried out rice and the burnt-to-the-plate re-fried beans that the plates were hot because they had been pre-plated and were sitting under a heating lamp for a while. I ordered chicken fajitas, which are pretty hard to mess up but the chicken was burnt and the onions had kind of a funky flavor to them. My mother ordered tacos and couldn't tell the difference between the chicken and the beef. I've had better Mexican food at restaurants in the northeast, which is pretty shameful considering Mexico is just a couple hours drive from here. I gave Jalapeno Inferno two stars because the food is edible (particularly if you like obscene amounts of cilantro) and the waitstaff was competent and polite, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a good Mexican restaurant.
Indoor, Outdoor, & TakeAway Dining Options. Outdoor dining offers shade or sun with umbrellas. Inexpensive pricing with quality dishes you can rely upon, in N.Scottsdale. A favorite of ours which we frequent. Their Salsa and Chips is our go-to dish which is best around.
My girlfriend and I stopped in there today for lunch/dinner. The appetizer street corn skillet was good but when we got our meals, I got the chorizo street tacos and she got the taco salad, my tacos were cold and finished with cinnamon which it doesn t say on the menu. I ate 1 of 3 tacos and didn t even touch rice&beans. Her taco salad was greasy and old lettuce. We re in the service industry so we didn t complain, we paid our tab and left, we will not be back.
Jalapeno Inferno has been our 'go to' place for dinner since they opened. Great food, great service, great patio.
Great margaritas. Fish tacos and naked pablano - delicious!
Great service, nice atmosphere with comfortable outdoor seating. The chicken fajitas were well cooked but under-seasoned in my opinion. In fact everything i tasted was rather bland for Mexican food. It's not inexpensive but probably in line with Scottsdale.

I loved the flour chips, and my Chimi was wonderful. Bringing the family on Christmas eve. Very excited to share our new wonderful.

Great happy hour specials. Very family friendly. Always great service!
JI's was recommended to us by the Marriott Concierge. Great atmosphere sitting on the patio by the little stream. Food was absolutely fantastic!! We went with the waitresses recommended favorites...so tasty! Gotta go with the fresh Guac also. Writing this one down. We will be back next trip to Arizona
Went to Park West location Saturday night and was not impressed. Meal prep timing was obviously off, Fajitas were sizzling but side beans, rice were cold and guacamole was turning brown. Other orders had issues also, Shredded beef hard taco had Ground beef that order also had cool rice and beans and yet another order was missing ingredients on the Street Tacos. Server was friendly, but overall not worth the price. They are new so will give them another try in a month or so.
Delicious chips, wonderful food, great server. All around fun evening with family. Sangria margarita was really good!
Love their food! Hoping their Peoria location opens soon... can't find info on it.
Food was terrific! Be careful ordering the monster nachos. They are insanely huge! Our server Nicole was a sweetheart!
This place is great. Three Mexican cuisine is awesome!
Tried this place for the first time tonight. Food was good, but service was terrible. Rge waitress actually turned her back when we motioned to her, then thought better of it and came to our table. My friend's lemonade was refilled moments before we were ready to leave, but my water never was, even though the glass sat empty for some time. If I ever go back, I will definitely carry out rather than deal with this kind of service.
Great food. Great service. A little pricey for Mex food but overall worth it. Shrimp cerviche and teq lime shrimp tacos were delicious! We will be back
The two kinds of chips are a nice change. The food is very good and it's great that they have options for people who like very spicy food.
I ordered the Super Food Quinoa Salad minus the cheese and chicken (to make this option vegan) and loved it! So tasty and flavorful. My husband ordered the Enchilada Nueve Mexico and loved it, definitely only if you can take the spice though! Definitely recommend.
Had a wonderful lunch. Ordered the summer Saturday special and it was AWESOME!!! The Prickly Pear Margarita was excellent as well.
Finally a place near me with good Hatch green Chile. As soon a I tasted the salsa and the margarita I knew the food would be good. Nachos were an awesome appetiser
Little expensive but great food.. specially their chips..
Excellent service and food. Nicole at the bar makes a great margarita. She was knowledgable, attentive and friendly even when the bar and patio areas were crowded.
First visit here and was extremely happy with the most enjoyable and delicious authentic Mexican lunch I've had in a long time. I enjoyed lunch portion chicken Chimichanga topped with lovely cream cheese jalepeno sauce. It was enough for two people, and I could only eat half. The ice cold Modela complimented the lunch meal. The customer service and wait staff was 5 stars. This place is a must to enjoy lunch, happy hour or dinner!
Excellent food and service. We love the Top Shelf Margaritas.
I've never been very pleased with their quality. Won't be going back.
Chile Relllenos were so good!
Great food and sevice
I don t give 5 stars to anyone!!! I love Infernos!!!
Decent food, services are friendly and servers are personable.
Very tasty Mexican fare with an extensive menu. The tacos were particularly good as well as the guacamole to start.
Food was great! Energy and atmosphere as well. However, the service was slow. We sat at the outside bar,and for a busy Friday evening the one person tending the bar, for both inside and out was clearly not enough
We have been eating in the pinnacle location for at least 10 years regularly. We now enjoy the Pima location also!
Price and service have never been disappointing either. Enjoy!!
Consistently delicious food and drink. They've gone the extra mile in regards to social distancing practices. Those flour tortilla chips are dangerously delectable. I wish I never tried them.
Food and drinks were great at always! Nice relaxed atmosphere
I have been going to Jalapeno Inferno since moving from Chicago almost five years ago. It's the type of restaurant when you have guests from out of town it is the first place you think of taking them. Well today's visit changed everything for me and I hope for many of you out there. We were seated by a girl who was very Curt and unpersonable. ( I was blown away to later find out her name was Danielle and she was actually the manager of the location!) I would think in a restaurant the first person you meet should be happy and chipper unlike her. We were seated immediately and were greeted by two servers. Super bubbly personalities and we definitely thought we would have fun on our visit. My husband and I were very hungry so we requested to have the delicious green chile tamale brought out right away. As we waited we ate some tasty chips and some of the best salsa. Definitely on the mild side but full of flavor. We were joking around with our servers getting ready to place our order when that beautiful tamale was placed on our table. Like I said placed on our table with no mention of it being a hot plate. I placed my order and then went to move the plate closer. I shrieked! Obviously the plate had just come out from the oven and I burnt my thumb index finger and middle finger. The server's scattered like ants. As I watched my fingers start to blister I started to cry. My husband and I waited over 5 minutes with no one coming to assist us or offer any help. My husband got up and went over to a server who brought bandaids over as if that was going to help. Then scattered again. Because of the lack of empathy and with my crying from the excruciating pain we decided to leave. Never had a chance to eat any of the food. As I was leaving my husband went back inside to speak to the manager. She came out with a bottle of Coppertone aloe gel as if that was supposed to help my burnt fingers. I went back inside absolutely Furious from the lack of attention that I received into something that was of a serious nature. I said I wanted the name and manager at the corporate office as well as a phone number. Danielle was so rude and condescending that I ended up raising my voice and throwing a few expletives out. I could not believe in today's age that there was such a lack of customer service and compassion for what was going on at her establishment. Talking back to me in the manner that she did enraged me further. My husband was so shocked by her behavior that he found the number at the corporate office. He spoke with someone who stated she was part owner named Laura. After my husband explained what had happened she actually had the audacity to ask if we paid for our meal. Pay for a meal we did not eat?? All she was concerned about was the bottom line and not her customer. I am so sad to say that after Jalapeno Inferno being my favorite restaurant in Phoenix for years I will no longer go there. I Now understand why the rating has dropped to three stars. Such a shame.
Love this place! Get the steak fajitas... To die for!
My very favorite chips in all of Arizona. Fresh made on sight every morning and a very rare mix of both flour and corn chips! I go for the chips alone! But, all the food is delish as well. My husband loves the house margarita on the rocks, no need to make it a double... You can taste the tequila. They have a patio too.
Good food, cold beer, and fantastic wait staff. Everyone friendly.
I arrived alone. The staff, at every level, worked together to make me feel welcome. That is something that you comes from management...and I am grateful for the sensitivity training that must be in place. The food was tasty....even though the "signature" green tamales arrived at room temperature...the Ceviche was the best I have ever experienced!!! The spinach enchiladas were all that I expected. I requested the cream cheese sauce and was totally satisfied. I recommend, highly!
Nothing special but not bad either. The food & service are on par with each other, palatable but not outstanding. Prices are on the high side, especially for mexican food. We generally go there for the patio seating and the margaritas which are probably the best thing on the menu.
Good food been coming here for probably 25 years for an area without alot of selections in quick driving distance this place stands out for having above average food and good service at a reasonable price.
Our favorite Mexican restaurant! We drive the the opposite side of the city to eat here. Everything from the chips! salsa and queso to the spinach almond enchiladas and tacos. Delish!
First time experience made me look forward to a second and third. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Enough said.
Greasy... chemically... reheated garbage. You know it's bad when the waiter brings the three different burritos your table ordered, sixty seconds after they were ordered.
This time I was there with a group of seven. Great outdoor atmosphere. Excellent food, excellent service!
Great food. Very pleasant atmosphere. Excellent service.
It was a wonderful, casual evening! The restaurant is traditional in a very clean, new, Scottsdale decor. It was the perfect setting for a talkative family meal. We all recognized how much we came together as a family through conversation unlike any other restaurant.
Food not tasty. Deep fried flour tortillas really good but greasy.
Excellent service and great food, good specials if you sign up
Predictible Mexican fare, that's nothing special, but at prices that would have you assuming otherwise. Expensive, even for Scottsdale, with reasonable portions, but nothing (in 3 visits) is really worth talking about. The chips and salsa are well crafted, with typical corn and flour chips (a nice surprise, like Aunt Chiladas) and competent salsa. But, things get very ordinary from there, with standard Tex-Mex dishes, including watery beans and bland rice. Any menu deviation seems to totally overwhelm the kitchen as I never get exactly what I request (leave out an ingredient). And good luck on service, never particularly friendly or competent, just like the whole experience, mediocre. But, it is very expensive for what they deliver. Judging by the crowds, they somehow attract a following who must like "good enough" and have deep pockets. You can find so much better, I give up with this place.
Great service and friendly people (both other customers an staff). I love their hatch menu. I was there at happy hour time, and the only down side was that I wasn't offered a hr menu, but verbally told of a couple of options.
Awful food, the tequila shrimp tacos are oversalted. They want 16$ for it?! Everything is overpriced
Just had lunch here and it was delicious! Karlie was our server and gave great customer service , very attentive. We had the fundido which had far too many onions but still great. Unless you really love onions you might want to ask them to go easy on them :)
This location has the best mexican food. I always order the chili relleno with machaca beef. The dish is big enough to split, especially after chips and salsa.
My husband and I were in town for some sunshine and a relaxing getaway when He found this place (Jalapeno Inferno) on the internet searching for somewhere with a different flare and a good reputation for good Mexican food and drinks for our last night in Scottsdale. We hit the jackpot here. They have the best on-tap frozen Sangria that they make into a drink called "Purple Haze"...OMG, I found my thrill, plus I had the Happy hour tamales, again... OMG!! I only wish we would have found this place sooner!! I've already made reservations to come back in January for my birthday, and this will be the first place I go to!!
Can't hardly wait!! #BobbieSue from Seattle
I am visiting from Texas and some friends from the area took me here for some good Mexican food. I was not disappointed! I had the tequila lime shrimp tacos and a blackberry paloma. Both were amazing. The service was fast and friendly. I truly enjoyed my visit here.
Good atmosphere and service with great tasting chips and salsa. Margaritas hit the spot as well!
My new favorite Mexican food restaurant in Scottsdale. The lobster street tacos are awesome. Love the green mango iced tea, and the desserts are fantastic.
Great ambiance with ample indoor and patio/courtyard seating.
