Great zoo. Very large with lots to do. The tiger exhibit is great. It has bridges and overhead areas for the tigers to explore. It gets you so close to the tigers. It's really great way to see them. The giraffe exhibit let's you feed the giraffes. Loved it this zoo.

The staff is friendly and informative. The animals are well taken care of and Jacksonville Zoo offers a wide variety of different types of animals for viewing. It's a fun place for kids or just couples enjoying a day out. The prices are not that bad. I really think you get your money's worth. They have plenty of resting benches and places to eat and drink.

I enjoyed a day here with the family. Access and parking is easy. The crowds were not bad (granted, it was "cold" that day). The price is reasonable at about $30 for adults and $23 for children, which is the "Total Experience." The website has more details on admission rates and what is included. While I was there, you could also feed the giraffes, which is fun for the kids. Not all food venues are created equal. I'd go to the Trout River Grill for the best selection.

Staff are friendly and there's a nice selection of animals to see. You don't get so close to very many (probably for their own good), but still a great experience. I really loved the giraffes, zebras, and the tigers. The tigers are behind More

Can you maybe get a shade tarp or a better shade area for some of the animals, especially the giraffed, please? It's sad seeing them try to squeeze under palm trees when the sun is out and blazing.... It looks uncomfortable and it hardly is enough room for them.
Just a thought. The sun in Florida sucks, but giving them a little bit of an option to get in the shade shouldn't be that difficult.

This is a great zoo. This was our 3rd time here & the 2nd time with the school. The staff here are pretty nice and courteous. I do have one compliant. The map seems like to me it could have been drawn up a little more clear. At the end of the day we realized that we had missed one of the attractions and had to back track nearly all the way back to the end of the main walkway.

I love this zoo! This was always one of my favorite spots when I lived in Jacksonville. I moved and I hadn t been back in awhile, even though there was construction, it was amazing! They have changed in the last few years and I am impressed. Always changing and improving, they never fail to grow and do better for the animals. Keep it up, you guys are epic!

I LOVE THE ZOO! The tiger exhibit is my favorite, I honestly could spend the whole day watching them. Such a great place to see animals that you wouldn t normally see, the staff is so helpful and them answer all my weird animal questions. It s also makes for a great first date and great for field trips. I hope they continue to expand this zoo!

We have been visiting this zoo since our son was 4. He is now 12 and our daughter is 8 and they both still love our Jacksonville Zoo. We have participated in their trick or treating several years in a row and have had so much fun each time. We temporarily left the area of Jacksonville and let our passes expire however now that we are back home we will be renewing our yearly membership!

It was the light show for Christmas. It was nice , but they had Plumbing issues so the only bathrooms they had were not I want of the zoo. They were porta potties. That did not work for me! I had a bathroom accident. It could have been handled a little better than what they. The lights were very nice!

We have a family membership here and love going to the zoo. The only thing that was off today was one of the bonobo monkeys was being extremely rough with the younger monkeys. He was kicking them aggressively all over a Lego. The keeper near the exhibit said this was normal play behavior but it was concerning. We love the know enclosures for the monkeys. Feeding the stingrays is always fun and the amount of butterflies in butterfly hallow today was amazing.

Drove 2 hours to be completely disappointed. This was not a zoo as it looks in the pictures. They up sell all these extras that are not even worth it. The exhibits are small and not how I like to see large animals. All the animals were in small confinement that did not allow them to be their natural selves. Small zoo not worth the price of admission

The new dinosaur exhibit is better than the previous one and that is based on my "wild about dinos" 4 year old grandson. If,like me you have food allergies then you can bring your own food which is also a money saved. Get there early as they are working on the parking lot. It is a great place to enjoy the day, have fun and learn.

Kids really enjoyed it. Sting ray bay is cool. Train ride was neat but we are seeing the back side of the different sections in the zoo. Couple different drop off and pick up locations for train. The tiger exhibit was really exciting. Will go back. :)

Love this place. It is a fraction of the cost of the Atlanta zoo and the exhibits are significantly more spacious and clean. The staff is friendly and there are several places where you can feed the animals. This place is worth a trip if you find yourself in Jacksonville.

The zoo has grown so much in the past few years. A new area for the primates is now open with a giant tree where they can travel through tunnels to explore outside their main exhibit area. They have also done a lot of landscaping which looks really good. My favorite area is Asia with all the bamboo, koi pond and tigers.

Not sure what has happened to this zoo. We were there four years ago and found it lovely and very worth the admission. We visited last week and had a miserable experience.

The bathrooms were disgusting. Every bathroom I entered was absolutely filthy and run down. It was obvious they had not been cleaned or remodeled in far too long.

The food at trout river grill was overpriced and bad. The people working there were unfriendly and unhelpful. My ticket was skipped over a least three times that I observed and repeatedly rude people would try and jump the wait to get their order filled first and the employees kept letting them do it. It was a disorganized mess.

My daughter fell in the same area and got a cut on her hand. There was only one first aid center and it was at the front of the park. There was nobody there (despite the large crowds) and someone had to be radioed in to come help. So after walking the entire length of the park we had to wait for this random person to arrive to administer a band aid.

The animal exhibits were very dated (exception being the jaguar exhibit which was the standout). The new monkey exhibit was very disappointing. We only saw like five monkeys total. No gorillas to see and they have these huge pipes for the monkeys to use but none of them go inside the tubes. The remainder of the exhibits were well past their prime and sadly in need of a refurbishment.

Needless to say we won t be back for a Long time.

My kids had a BLAST! It's a smallish zoo so don't expect something equivalent to San Diego but it is comparable to the Nashville zoo we are most familiar with. We went with the basic admission (which includes ray petting) and paid a couple dollars to feed giraffes. That seemed the best bang for the buck for us. My kids are a little old to appreciate the dinosaur train ride so we skipped it but it looked like a fun activity for the younger crowd.

The new Campground Critters animals show is super cool. They have all kind of animals, most of them adopted from local shelters in Florida, dancing and doing funny tricks with their trainers. The staff did a great job and we are definitely going again.
Great job guys and thanks for the zoo for always adding new shows and activities.

We had a great time, it wasn't packed with people so we could enjoy everything the park had, well worth the money. The animals were out and about too, which made it even better. The apes were so funny and playful, and we loved petting the stingrays!! I would definitely recommend a trip here, at least before it gets too busy with more people.

We love this zoo! Very clean, and the animals are so well taken care of compared to others I've been to before. Tons of things to see, and it wasn't as expensive as we thought which is a plus. Definitely going again.

The highlight for me was the Critter Show. Great variety of animals and the script was well written. It was on the hot side but most of the animals were out. The landscaping is very nice. The Palm Cafe has good food. The gift shop had unique items of all prices.

Really family friendly and the value you get for visiting here really outweighs the ticket price. Love the giraffes and how we get to feed the giraffes in the park. The route is clearly marks and there are surprises every corner. Good experience.

I love the Jacksonville zoo. I got a membership so I can take my 10 month old. I walk with the stroller or baby carrier. I get some exercise without worrying about traffic. I can't wait to see the new ape exhibit they are building and the new baby tigers.

There was a lot of construction going on when we went so we only got to see a small fraction of the monkeys. All of the animals were set up nicely and clear to see, except the elephants. There was only one elephant out and it was being occupied for a tour group at the back. The "Save the Frogs" exhibit left a lot to be desired. Overall, I'd love to go back...once the Gorilla exhibit is completed.

Great family fun. If you're visiting with a couple of adults and children you should consider purchasing the membership vs paying for day admission. The standard membership is $120.00 and includes two adults and four children..

Excellent to bring the family! Areas are well maintained and they have the shops and various options to eat. Is bigger than we expected and it was a nice walk around the zoo. Loved the reptile and amphibians exhibitions and the area to feed the giraffe amd stingrays. Animals look healthy. The bathrooms and water fountain could be a bit cleaner though so bring your water..yeap, at least they allow you to bring your water.

It's a nice zoo. I think extras (train, carousel, etc) should be included with a membership. The Halloween party was worth the money years ago. It doesn't seem worth the money now. When the weather is nice, it is a great place to spend the day.

A nice zoo to visit although it is on the small side & for first time visitors can be difficult to navigate. My kids loved that there was a train ride. We have an annual family pass & the only frustration is that we still have to pay for the train for each person riding.

We were so very disappointed with the way the poor animals lived. We heard about the zoo prior to but will never go back, we'll drive back home to Tampa where the animals live more in their habitat and not in sterile cages or watering holes. I have been to the Bronx zoo and it's awesome just like Tampa, they need to shut down Jax zoo and send these animals to habitat familiar surroundings. God bless these poor animals.

Love going to this zoo, probably one of the nicer ones I've been too and the staff really cares about these animals. They were pretty good at answering any questions we had about the animals & their care too. Had a really good time here last time we visited and really enjoyed our other visits in the past. The plant life all over here is beautiful too, the asian water garden full of bamboo is my favorite spot As far as I know they offer discounts for military and students too which is nice, I use the extra money I save to donate to their fundraiser boxes while I'm there.
