Overall pretty nice zoo. Not as big as some of the zoos up north but would definitely recommend any Jacksonville visitors to stop and enjoy. It was pretty packed, so bring your masks. And if you have little ones, don't forget the strollers. You have to buy tickets online and If you want the hands on experience, those tickets sell out fast.
We always have fun coming here. It's a well kept zoo kids enjoy it.

Had great time. A recommendation, spend a couple of $$, ride zoo train to the end (half way around the track), disembark and walk back towards the front, visiting sites along the way. Best way to see the park and save energy.
The Jacksonville Zoo is a great place to take your kids. The staff is very knowledgeable, the exhibits are well maintained, they are constantly improving and there are so many fun things to do. I highly recommend going!
My only take away from this is that is pointless unless you buy the extras
Huge zoo. Liked it a lot of shade and well mantained. Some staff were not enthusiastic but we enjoyed the birds area. Animals like wildcats need more space. Overall we did enjoy it very much i would say the second best zoo we have visited so far.
We love our zoo and gardens. Having memberships are great. My only problem is the garden signage is very lacking. Not being from a warm area I can not name but maybe 1 in 10! I would love to see that change with better and much more plant information. All the new animal statutes are amazing.
Love it. I've been multiple times and it never disappoints. They're handling the coronavirus very well. (If that was a concern) The giraffe feeding was a very cool experience.
Had a great day. Can't wait till the monkey exhibit gets finished. The souvenirs were limited. The store had a line with one cashier. The food was good. Definitely go back.
An overall quality experience at the Jacksonville Zoo. The zoo exhibits capture some incredible animals and was designed fairly well. One area that needs improvement is concessions. Our wait for food at a cafeteria style restaurant took nearly 40 minutes after the order was placed. Definitely do a behind the scenes tour.
The park is lovely! The staff is friendly and offered so much information about the animals at most of the exhibits. It is a wonderful get away right here in town!
Awesome zoo! Clean displays. Beware of the random lines. People make lines for several displays for no reason at all. Then they get butt hurt when you walk past them.

It's a great place to spend the day! A really nice zoo.
We didn't see much of it. The lack of masks and the lack of social distancing by other patrons made me feel uncomfortable having my daughter there. Trying to dodge the hordes of people was a real poop show. They had signage and policies, but I didn't see any enforcement. We just left early rather than risk getting Covid.
We went early there were no lines no waiting it was a beautiful day and all the animals were out. Loved it
I'll give 3.5 stars. I really loved how everything was redone and things were added. Just disappointed with restrooms facilities. Not having extra soap, paper towels and not having hand sanitizer was a lol shocking. Especially with all the recent health issues. Just my thoughts. The zoo is a great place will be back.
My son had a blast! He loved feed Mr Duke the giraffe. Feeding the birds was an excellent experience too. Cannot wait to keep using our annual passes.
The zoo is always a blast. From petting stingrays to getting to see new babies. We love it so much, we got a membership!

The zoo was nice but a bit costly for what we received as you have to pay separate costs to the admission price for a few of the attractions! The one great thing my 2 year old son really enjoyed was feeding the giraffes which we had to pay a separate amount to do.
The zoo is a good size. The food isnt too exspensive($7 + for a meal) They have a nice splash area for kids.
There was no mask wearing or social distancing on Saturday 7/4/20. Plus 95% of animals in hiding with zookeepers standing in exhibits. Don't go. Not safe for public.
Granddaughter loves coming here. Not to expensive. I try to come about once month.
Nice zoo for its age. Has a wide range of animals from around the globe. Still a great place to bring the kids when in Jacksonville.
Absolutely fantastic exhibits. Very reasonable entrance fee. Great shows and chats with the keepers. Only complaint is the dining staff does not wear hair nets at all.
The Jacksonville Zoo is the best zoo I ve been to so far and I loved it so much. There were a wide variety of beautiful animals and the place was very clean and organized. The workers were also very nice and helpful. I will definetly be coming back to this amazing zoo.

Love the train, worth the ride,to see where everything is located. Then walk the trails.Very clean and friendly staff.Animals are amazing, did not get the chance for lunch at restaurant inside,but will definitely try it next time.

I've been here at least half a dozen times over 10 years, always impressed with the zoo exhibits, and the level of care that seems to be put into every aspect of the zoo itself, and the animals!

We always love going to the Zoo. The Jacksonville Zoo is fun for all ages. I took my 3 year old son this last time and he had a blast. They even let us watch the 4D movie even tho we were the only ones there and no one else was in line waiting to watch. Their train ride is also very good. My son got to feed the giraffes which was such a thrill. He got real excited about that and that was all he talked about for days. Lol.
The Jacksonville Zoo is a great place to take any age of person and just to go and have a good time and adventure and enjoy yourselves entirely.
The staff at the Zoo is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for decent fun and activities to do in the Jacksonville area.
Definitely one of my favorite Zoos. I wasn t expecting much from the Jacksonville Zoo, but was definitely proven wrong. Plenty of exhibits with the ability to do hands on stuff as well. The four stars is due to the pricing. It was more expensive than I was expecting, but I live near the National Zoo so I am spoiled.
My daughter loves Stingray Bay and feeding the giraffes, well laid out and fun for my kiddos. We always eat at Trout River Grill and spend lots of time running through in the maze. She would love some more things for small kids at the playground and make more hands on stuff for small kids. We go a few times a year and love it
It was great and truly enjoyed our time there. I only wish that there wasn't so many exhibitions closed or animals inside
Great place for the whole family to visit or just for animal lovers in general. They have a wide variety of animals and attractions to look at. I would definitely recommend to anyone. Only downside to my visit was that they were working on the gorilla habitat at the time but that gives me a reason to go back one day.
I love it except I don't do snakes. I also would like to recommend that when given an armband they should hand out maps to every one not just one per family. Their were quite a few people who got lost when we went. Their should be a smoking section for those who smoke cigarettes. Out by the gorgeous water is a great place to smoke.
Wonderful zoo! A perfect place to stop by and see some wildlife. The animals were very well taken care of at this zoo and the staff were really nice.

Not bad could use a make over. Train ride was very disappointing only see run down back of buildings.Kids loved the little water area for them to get wet and play.
Dont go to late. You need at least 3 hours to see everything and 5 hours to actually enjoy it.

They'll give you back story, the animal's culture, behaviors, and the best times to see them.they recently expanded the Zoo as well. The expansion is marvelously done.

Family fun. Always love the animals and my son enjoyed it the most! Tickets are reasonably priced, staff was friendly. Had a place when you walk in for the kids to play in the water.
Paid to feed the giraffes but they weren't hungry. Refunded our ticket to get the money back. Overall great time!
The Jacksonville Zoo is a well maintained and operated zoo. It is always very clean and the staff are great. The exhibits are really nice and the animals are enjoyable to interact with. Our family enjoys going there often and taking the train ride around the park. Try to go during cool weather as summer is brutal.

I love our Zoo. It has underwent some changes, beginning with the Monkey and Gorillas. The exhibit is fascinating. I love All the animals, there are so many different species of animals and birds, fish, Manatee's, and stingray's. The tiger exhibit is so Awesome as well. Okay, go check it out for yourself.

Great place for a family get away great variety of animals to see. There is really so much to see so I would plan for a day trip and they also have a little water park for the kiddos inside so pack the kids swim wear. Most of the walkways are shaded so you don't have to worry too much about sun exposure. Really the best zoo I have been to in awhile.
Only got to see half but the half that I did see was a one of a kind experience. Alot of first times for me. Feeding giraffes, feeding birds, petting sting Ray's, seeing rhinos, etc.. the scenery is absolutely stunning. I loved it. Today's trip is definitely going to be a memory I'll never forget and hopefully I'll get to go back soon to see the rest.

I've been to the zoo countless times, living 10 minutes away, but I still can't get enough. Always clean, staff is always friendly, and the animals are all so well taken care of.

Very nicely landscaped walking paths between exhibits. Exhibits are spacious and well kept.
Nice place if you want some peace, but some exhibits smell a little funny.
I won't say I liked the zoo very much but it is worth visiting with family. There are many common animals missing which I didn't expect...like bear, wild dogs, Hynas..

Train ride is okay if you have kids as they would love it..else don't bother spending time riding on it.. you'll hardly see any animals that too from very far and it also doesn't cover many sections in zoo..
Dont forget to feed Doug the giraffe! Youll need a couple of hours to thoroughly cover and enjoy the entire zoo.
Jax zoo is great entertainment. Recommend train ride as you sometimes see animals up closer. The train experience could be more enjoyable if it was more aesthetically pleasing--backs of buildings could use murals, etc.
Not a fan of animals in captivity but if u must go it is worth it. Learned a lot. The walk ways allow u to see everything where the animal may be.

We visit the Jax zoo three to four times a year and never feel like we have the same experience twice our kids absolutely love it. We generally work our way through the zoo and ride the train back and we generally visit between October and February when it's not so hot.
