The view from the lodge of the Grand Tetons is spectacular. Worth seeing it even if you aren't staying there. The cocktail bar was also nice and their Huckleberry martini definitely lives up to it's expectations. Beyond that the rooms are nice and the service was fine.
Don't even think of buying something in the shop. Mugs and glasses are terrible in terms of quality. Print is getting worn out after couple of washes and mugs and glasses just collapse after a short period of time.
Bathroom was filthy. I called the front desk and asked them to come clean the bathroom and change out the shower curtain which they didn't do. it was disgusting!! I took the shower curtain to the front desk and the manager gave us $80.00 off a $700.00 Bill for 2 nights not worth it!!!! Don't do it!@
We didn't stay at this lodge; we came by for the view.
The Jackson Lake Lodge is a truly impressive place. It has multiple shops (one appeared rather upscale), several restaurants, and a bar. And a nice common room on the second floor.
But what really made this an outstanding stop on our trip was the view from the common room and the deck. The wall of windows completely encompasses the spectacular Teton range. And for an even more wide view, step out onto the deck or down onto the lawn.
The Jackson Lake Lodge is well worth a stop in your trip.
Lots of good things about the lodge. The view is amazing from the lobby and the outdoors bar. The food has been good too. The rooms are adequate but not what one may expect for the price. It's very busy, packed with people but runs pretty well. Dinner time it is hard to find space in the diner and the bar.
There is a wall of windows overlooking the Grand Tetons. The food and service at the grill insider the lodge was excellent! There were 6 of us. We all got different food items. Everything we ordered was fantastic! The wait staff that helped us was very friendly and personable.
We ordered burgers medium rare and were assured that they would be prepared that way. What was brought to us was so overcooked it was dry and Inedible. The server apologized and said they would be done correctly. The second go round was the same dry, tasteless meat.
The scenic views are magnificent!! Do breakfast in the Mural Room and ask for a window seat. Cabins are well-appointed. Hot water and good pressure. The staff is friendly and helpful, with one or two exceptions. Overall, you can't beat the experience!!
Jackson Lake Lodge has an insane view of the Grand Tetons and is an amazing place to stay. We had one of the small cabins which were very cute. It s a short walk to the main lodge where you can enjoy yummy food and drink and take in one of the most incredible vistas I ve ever seen. Take me back!
We stopped by while visiting Yellowstone and the Tetons and we LOVED it. The people were helpful, the gift shop was cute, and the view is amazing. We stop here every time we visit (several times a year).
Beautiful lodge style hotel with majestic views of the Tetons! Several eating options and gift shops to meet your needs. From the large open lounge full of comfy chairs and couches you can relax by the fires and take in the view from the floor to ceiling windows whilst sipping a coffee from the kiosk or a cocktail from the bar. You may even see a moose! Just outside are perfect photo taking spots of the mountains.
We only ate at the restaurant and have to say it was disappointing. The food came out cold. The chips were not seasoned. Every table around us, including ours, had to ask for napkins and silverware after receiving food. The staff rarely came to the tables.
But the view is amazing! Stop and take pictures, maybe order a drink. Avoid eating here.
Just passing through. Great views of the mountain range. Nice shops on the second floor. Several dining options and styles. Parking was easy and recycling options were also available. Didn't do the brief walk.
Great views from the main lodge, but be careful of when we go. We called ahead to specifically ask if certain activities were open, and got a confirmation only to arrive and find out that it's all closed (such as poolside BBQ, etc). Also make note, you stay in a separate building (cabins) not in the main lodge, the frontdesk we booked with told us otherwise.
The one star is for the lodge itself, the views from and the staff inside the restaurant, namely Bobby (He was amazing and was so personable and kind, we specifically went back to sit in his area the next day). As for the stay and accommodations, we had the cabins, which were filthy and so poorly kept, I couldn t get believe the gall of them charging their guests $350 plus a night to stay there. I spent over an hour cleaning the floors, baseboards, wiping down who knows what off of the doors and around the toilet. So disgusting! Another over the top, unacceptable issue, was having to take a shower in a clogged tub. Lovely standing in one s own filth or that of others before you! The final kicker for us was the noisy and completely wobbly ceiling fan which provided the only cool air in the cabin and afforded us and probably all the ceiling spiders in their webs, little to no sleep both nights we stayed. Do not stay in the cabins unless you demand a 2 star price!
Large main building, one wall is glass and has a great view of the Grand Tetons. On the balcony, you can spot wildlife. We saw elks and moose and the cafeteria had good food for a reasonable prices. This is a large sprawling hotel. highly recommended.
I have just returned from a vacation to the Grand Tetons. I stayed at the Colter Bay Campground. The site we had was a good size but the campground in general needed repairs. Only one sink in the bathroom worked. One of the bathroom stalls had a toilet in it that looked like it was for men. (This was the womens bathroom). Couldn't use it. The camping pads had broken black top. On our trip it rained and our site looked like it had a pond in it! We even had a pond between the truck and camper! Needless to say it could use some TLC
My husband and I stopped in to see if they had anything to eat, but also because our friend told us it was a pretty view. We ate and got drinks at the Blue Heron. The food was good and reasonable priced, but the view was amazing!! We came in just before sunset and sat at the counter on the back deck. Our waiter was awesome, and I could not have asked for a better evening.
Beautiful, beautiful place. Perfect view of the Tetons. My parents got married at the lodge so we always spend more time here then all the other lodges in Grand Tetons. Both restaurants are okay. They are not bad quality food. The dinning is more expensive the little cafeteria. They have wonderful Huckleberry Mojitos at the bar and are very friendly. The shops are still cute. They have a BBQ dinner that they do everyday i think and its all you can eat. I have heard good things about it.
This place is beautiful! They have some great restaurants and shops at this location. I was here on a road trip.
After we left, I realized that my headphones weren t with me when we made it to our next stop in Colorado. My boyfriend said he did a clean sweep of the place, but that was the last time I remember using them. So I called the lodge to get in touch with someone who might ve seen them. I called and left a few messages over a few days, and I didn t hear a response. We were on our last leg of the trip so we weren t going to go back for them if they weren t there. I would ve appreciated a call back, even if they didn t find them, or someone else staying there found/or took them. They were nice headphones that I received from my brother as a gift for Christmas, so they had some meaning to me. I just couldn t believe that a place as nice as that didn t reply to a simple message.
I don t see a bear, some man with an Irish accent said. He and his friends stared and pointed at something out in the great plain, north of Jackson Lake, while I scanned the tree line east of the majestic Teton Range of mountains with my binoculars. Hundreds of people stood with me and my wife on the edge of the veranda wall at Jackson Lake Lodge in Wyoming. The great plain that yawned before us was the size of a county in my native state of South Carolina. It had grasses and bushes up to six feet tall, some trees, and several streams. Bison, elk, deer, moose, and other wildlife of the Grand Teton National Park, including both types of bears (Black and Grizzly) might be seen on the plain. The best time to see them was at twilight and in darkness, with the exception that the bull elk were out during daylight too, yodeling for female elk to come to them to be herded and impregnated. My wife and I had eaten an early breakfast so that we could stand out there in the cold crisp air of morning twilight. We saw moose, some otters, and eagles. There was a large bull elk about a half mile out in front of us, yodeling. But, we wanted to see bears, and perhaps a wolf or a mountain lion. I m telling you, the bear is right there! the Irish friend of the first Irishman stated emphatically. I glanced to my left. They were about ten people away from me. I saw that man point nearly in front of me about 300 yards out. I thought he was nuts! Something as large as a bear could not possibly be that close to hundreds of people without being seen clearly and ratted out for everyone to see. To my wife s chagrin, I abandoned my perch at the edge to go meet the Irishmen. I introduced myself, told the men that I had heard their discussion and was willing to become a believer. The men were the patriarchs of two sizeable Irish families, and they readily adopted me and my binoculars to settle this matter of a bear that only one of them could see. That one man lined me up to put my eyes with binoculars on a patch of grey with a little reddish brown mix, nestled among grasses and bushes. After staring for two full minutes, I confidently told him, I don t see a bear. Right, said the Irishman s friend. All of the Irish families snickered and grinned. This poor man, about my father s age, needed someone to back him up. Clearly, that was my job, and I had let him down. He stood next to me with his head lowered. Well, I said, just because I don t see a bear, that doesn t mean that a bear is not there. How do you know that the scruffy patch of grey is a bear? The Irishman looked me square in the eyes and said, I saw him move. Truth dwelled in this man s eyes. In that moment, I joined his quest to prove to his family and everyone there that he had indeed seen a bear. It took me forty minutes to do it. My wife was as skeptical and upset with me as his family was with him, but I talked it up as I moved about the veranda to get a better viewing angle. Finally, a grizzly bear raised his head! The Irishmen and their families saw it! My wife saw it, and so did sixty or so other people. The bear was laying in ambush for a chance at the yodeling elk! We all go great photographs. I got a look, that I will never forget, from a grateful and proud Irishman.
The questions is Why? Why stay at a 3 star hotel and pay 5 star prices? You may say for the view. But the view is only from the restaurants. Why not just come for lunch? Problems: No AC (yes it got hot during the day). No TV. No microwave. No fridge. No iron. Mouse or some other creature ate through my snacks during the night. The blinds got stuck in the middle of the night. I asked for duct tape and towels for light protection and privacy. Someone brought me hand towels and no tape because the engineering guy was too lazy to come to my room. The cottages are far from the hotel and nobody carries your bags for you. I was told pick up shuttle to town was at 12 and after 12:30 questioned why it didn t come only to be told that it was 1 after all. Training anyone? Also told to meet the pickup shuttle. in front of the hotel. Almost missed it because it did not meet in front of the hotel. Again training anyone? We were asked by the sponsors of our meeting did we want to return to Jackson. There was a ReSounding yes however several people spoke up and said not to this hotel. I agree. Poorly managed, overpriced hotel.
I have been here multiple times for both business/conferences and for family trips. Without question, it is one of my favorite places. The views are simply stunning.
Comfortable room. Spectacular views at the lobby. The WiFi is also good. Sadly the food is pretty bad. Either stick to simple items or eat at signal mountain.
The view from the lobby is the best. You can enjoy the view of Teton at dusk and in the morning. However, the lodge which I used was a little narrow for four families and the facilities are old.
