Very friendly staff, and strong safety rules, with good attention to detail (I'll take their word for it that they enforce them). The "novice shooter's package" (more or less required for foreign visitors) has sensible training content and, because it includes gun rental, is very good value for money. If you want to go somewhere and make holes in paper, this is a good place to start (if you want to try something high-powered, you'll need to go elsewhere).

I've shot here a number of times and like the place. The lines are long on weekend mornings and afternoons, but what do you expect given how few indoor ranges there are in the SF / Peninsula area? The lines usually move a little more quickly than you're told to expect, which is nice. They could do a better job making sure all the target holders are working. And dress for the weather, because if it's cold outside it will be cold inside. But overall, it's a very solid place, with knowledgeable, friendly staff.

The place is a little bit grungy and they overcharge for ammo so bring your own. The 9mm Glock I rented (rentals are free - $ absorbed by the ammo fees) didn't work properly. Stick with the .22 and you'll be happier and it will cost less.

The facility is ok for shooting, but the staff are full blown losers holding on to the little bit of authority they have. its comical and pathetic at the same time. I will still shoot there but just treat the staff like the losers they are.

One of the few indoor range near me. It provides a good place to practice pistol and shotguns. A little pricy, and it unfortunate they are no longer support high power rifles like 5.56 calibers.

Only local shooting range that still allows rapid fire and double taps. They let you still have some fun without a "experienced range master" barking over a loud speaker. They have a great staff once you get to know them and they always like to chat you up if your bringing anything interesting to the range. Only thing is you have to watch the busy times or you could be facing up to an hour weight and no parking in the lot

Thank goodness they are closing down, there really isn't much chance of teaching their current staff force customer service skills.

If you have to greet store staff as a customer first, then you have issues.

Safety tests before use - fine with that. I and my friend was denied even being able to do the test as they had an issue with one of our party moving the gun off centre by what must have been 10 degrees - a range of movement that would have been down range still.

I've served in the Military, trained alongside US servicemen and passed APWT as well as carried live rounds on active duty. Having driven a ton of time out of my way to privilege them with my business, I'm irritated. Reading through the reviews, it shows a common thread of animosity to non US people.

The condescending comment about my military service by the guy that looked like the comic book guy from the Simpsons is ironic.

Glad you guys are out of work at the end the month, I'm sure Silicon Valley could do with a couple of car park litter pickers.

Once again a super nice experience at Jackson Arms. This time for a Private Party Transfer (PPT) of pistol to a new owner. Jackson arms handled this with their standard safe, secure, and efficient manner. All the time with a smile. Thus time it meant even more since we found out after arriving at 10 AM that their PPT services do not until noon (12 PM). They helped us anyway and we sine and out in less than 30 minutes. A plus? Jackson Arms does not mind ifbyou count the sale transfer cash right therebon the counter next to the PPT in progress. Their PPT process was pleasant and not over-bearing with unneeded steps. I can whole-heartedly recommend Jackson Arms for you PPT needs and as a great range too.

Most of the employees are very rude and make inappropriate comments. The ammo is marked up 30 percent. The range is filthy and has terrible lighting which is good since I train with a flashlight.

If you're looking to shoot a gun in a safe environment near SF, this is your best bet. The club and range is small, but they are professionally and securely providing access that is otherwise sorely limited in the city.

Some of the workers are real nice and down to earth that help your entry go smooth, some are really REALLY not and lack customer service skills. Great place to shoot and relax though besides that.

The staffs need more training in terms of "customer service." I went there with my friends from overseas just to have them experience shooting guns one night. When the staff (don't remember the name but he had nasty looking stomach sticking out of this shirt). He said he had to check my guns on the counter and started, I don't even know what it was, BSing. I felt like I am doing something terribly wrong in front of my guests. But when I had thinking about it, I did nothing wrong or illegal. His notion was that all my magazines were loaded and they were same as I am carrying a loaded gun. The staff members are arrogant and careless of what their customers feels. I brought busiensses to the place and instead of rewarding me with discounts or at least some pat in the back... they arrogantly mistreat you like a dirt.

The staff was highly trained to "ruin" their customer's day? Is it wast it was? Thanks to that unprofessional staff, my clients had a bad impression of me and the beautiful part is that they never ever want to visit the bayarea anymore.

The shooting range should use more cleaning if they are going to charge like $17 an hour (I never went back there ever since so I don't know how much they charge now). Not only cleaning, they should fix when things are broken (lane winch, lighting, ... and so on.).

The entire business is geared towards: 1. making easy money; 2. making the owner and staffers happy; 3. making their customers happy if necessary and not all the time.

I might go back when absolutely have no second choice but I will always try to avoid this shooting range. I really don't have idea why they are running the business? They might enjoy harrasing their own customers.

I can somewhat see where th negative reviews are coming from. But for those who just want to come and shoot their hearts out and a nice indoor range with no cease fire, this is your place. And that's why I love it.

Terrible staff worst customer service ever, Well it quite frankly doesn't exist in this hell hole, please avoid at all cost go elsewhere it is not worth your time to even attempt to visit this places unless you are asian/chinese

Very rude staff.

Very rude staff.
The service was good before. Not sure if the management changed, or the hired new people. Whatever happened there, never going there again!

The staff here is approachable and friendly (which took me by surprise at first) but most importantly takes range safety extremely seriously.

As you would expect, weekends are busy but their queuing process is impressively smooth and fair. I went out of my way to write this review because they deserve credit for keeping range lanes maintained, people safe and accommodating shooters with different levels of experience - these guys love doing what they do and it shows.

They require that you purchase targets from them, even the ones I brought were identical to the ones I purchased from them at the counter. They have to "inspect" your gun before you take it in, whatever that means. In my case, that meant the employee picking my pistol up and aiming it around while I filled out the waiver. The range has poor sound insulation, but is otherwise fine. Fairly standard shooting experience for a normal price, minus the small annoyances.

To swap guns for a gun rental is pretty pricey but overall a great place. If you're new just make sure to go withe someone who's knowledgeable in basic firearm safety. Very friendly and great. Just follow their rules and it'll be a fantastic experience.

Great service. Great place to go shooting. So sad to see them close their doors. Been shooting here for years and never had a bad experience. Wish all the staff the best of luck. You guys are all fantastic.

Class fee is a little pricey, considering $60 per person, and only 50 rounds between two people; However, really great beginners course!! Like the free firearm upgrade, only had to pay for ammo--somewhat makes up for it.The instructor Pete was very informative!! All the guys however were really helpful!! Great first time experience!

Horrible lady behind the counter -- rude upon the very first step inside. I can understand why possessing a gun at a shooting range would give someone an insatiable power trip, but this little lady was ridiculously unfriendly and rude. Never coming back.

Got hit with a ricachea. They need to put wood on all the bays not just the 3 bay area. Stop getting cheap jackson and do something about it. Put wood on all shooting bays to block people from getting hit in the legs with bullets!
