The pancakes are delicious, it's the service that isn't consistent. Sometimes they are the best servers and others are far careless of the customer service. We have also experienced a racist situation. Before a group arrived we were told we were next. 15 minutes later another group comes in (they were the same group size as ours) and they get seated. They don't accet phone reservations. Therefore, it was the host being bias to the Caucasian group.

They arbitrarily decide to not do to go orders on certain days of the week without notifying you on the website or on yelp. Then, if you show up by accident not knowing this policy they will refuse to work with you. Also they can't except Credit cards apparently. This place deserves to go out of business as soon as possible. Also there is nowhere to park.

Jacks and Joe was my first place I got food in LA, it was recommended to me by a ton of people and I'm glad I did. Their food options are wide for every type of tastebud, and their wait staff was also very kind and generous. They had a small chat with us instead of just walking up and asking for our order. So should I ever find my way back to LA, this will definitely be on my stop list.

In the search for a yummy breakfast place I stumbled upon this place through Yelp! The reviews are good and the food looks great but I'm going to have to return for a second visit to really give this place a chance.

For me my visit was barely o.k. I felt the pancakes where bland and wet not fluffy, the loaded hash brown was really sad, barely had hash brown and it had no had no color and wasn't crispy. the eggs that sat on top did not look like fresh cracked eggs they looked processed. and the only thing I liked about this place was the fact that they served turkey bacon and the prices are decent and portions too but food has to taste good to they can't just get by on plating big portions.

I really want to return to see if maybe I just went on a bad day but for now my experience was just two stars because I have definitely had better.

BREAKFAST HEAVEN!!! I was in the mood for amazing breakfast "Best Pancakes in LA" and this place was at the top of the list! I saw the pictures and menu, and drooled a little bit. So I decided to try it out.

Went on a Sunday at about 1:30pm and had to wait 35-45 minutes for a table (but that's not bad!) They have a ton of chairs on the patio where you can lounge and talk while you wait. The parking lot is SMALL so you have better luck parking on 23rd near Flower and burning a few calories before breakfast.

Their staff was attentive and friendly! Bunny was a doll! She has great energy (and highly caffeinated) and very helpful. The decor inside is simple, exposed brick to give it a nice touch, small place with lots of seating.

They have an extensive list of pancakes to choose from, yet, I decided to go with the Dakine French Toast (which is made on hawaiian bread, can you say YUM!). Their JNJ potatoes are good, but nothing to write home about. The French toast was goooood and a nice sized portion!

Overall, great breakfast place, reasonable prices, and wonderful atmosphere!

I will be back for my next brunch adventure!

Still as great as I remembered it. The lemon butter is soooo good and everything was great. Not too crowded for a weekday still very busy but got seated immediately. The bathroom is a little nasty I must say iimagine because they are so busy but yeah someone needs a heavier bathroom rotation schedule for cleaning. The only thing I still hate about this place which is why I havent been in years is the parking situation is screwed front and back and I always end up parking blocks away, nothing to be done but its sucks

They said they are closed from August 25-31st. They are actually closed right now until the 1st of August. I am from Dallas and I am on vacation and this is one of the spots I wanted to have for my birthday breakfast and I drove an hour from where I was staying to find out it was closed. I am sure it is probably really good. But get your stuff together!

The food was amazing. We got the pancake and french toast. And added the combo to it. Their potatoes are really good also. But if you make the trip to this place stick with the pancake and or French toast. The eags are same as every where else.

Excellent food. Fantastic service. Very modern and Clean restaurant. What more could you ask for? Can't with for their microbrewery/restaurant to open next door.

Owners have done an incredible job training their staff to be top notch.

Great food. The wait can be a headache and barely any parking. If you go here, expect to wait at least 45 minutes before your seated. Otherwise don't go when your extremely hungry . The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

I was served by a young woman that was inked on her arms. I did not get her name so this is how I can identify her.
She was great. I observed how she handled the tables around me. She is an asset and most likely would be to any employer.

I came here for brunch with my sister last Sunday. We arrived around 8:30AM and there was already a line!! They open at 8AM! The wait wasn't too bad though. Although, once we were done, there was a big crowd of people waiting.

What We Ordered:
- 7 Minutes in Heaven French Toast
- Loaded Hash Browns (Secret Menu)
- Pudgie Elvis Pancakes

We both LOVE the 7 Minutes in Heaven!! It only comes with 3 pieces though. :( Good thing we ordered a bunch of food! The Loaded Hash Browns were delicious as well! I really liked the sauce they drizzled on top! We both were indifferent about the Pudgie Elvis...it was too peanut buttery for us. If I ever feel like waking up early again, I will head over here!

Where do I start...? First and foremost I am not from California, I flew way across the country to enjoy what I thought would have been a good experience. My family and I walked a good two miles to Jacks n Joes for breakfast. Before leaving we read on google that they closed at 2pm. We were trying to be mindful and not show up too late but no later than 1:30. In which we did make that time. When we walked up to the door, after walking in the rain and the 60 degree weather we weren't expecting when we made this trip; there was a sign saying they were closed. Since it wasn't 2pm yet we still walked in. Immediately the MANAGER expressed they weren't seating anyone else. I explained that they aren't closed so what's the issue. She then told me that there was a really long wait so they had stop taking people at 1pm. I left calmly and thought okay where to next. Then, a lady walked in after me and was seated IMMEDIATETLY. With no hesitation my family and I walked back in to question what just happened. Long story short the manager disrespected us by belittling us and talking down on us in general because we spoke up on the unfair service she provided. We then left because we weren't trying to cause a scene. However, I would not recommend Jacks n Joes to ANYONE. I can't speak on the food because I never got the chance to eat there due to the lack of service and false advertisement. But I would definitely recommend The Original Pantry Cafe, Egg Slut, and Bottega Louie hope you all enjoy.

Went on Sunday November 10th. There was a line waiting outside which is usually a good sign lol Sat at the little bar area since I was by myself so there was no wait for me. Ordered my food and I just observed. I don't know if the owners read these reviews, but the cooks you have in the kitchen are BADASS! I mean absolutely BADASS!! They were tossing out dishes like it was nothing. You could tell they knew what they were doing. Pancakes were perfect. Awesome service and I recieved my food quickly! You've got great people working for you. Will be back for sure
