I had contacted the dealership recently in search ...

I had contacted the dealership recently in search of a decent used truck. At first I was greeted with hospitality, shortly thereafter came the classic used car dealership shtick. I spoke with the online sales representative, Breann Ardison, and I was informed that the vehicle I was interested in was in the shop for some routine repairs . At this point the dealership started pressing me into looking at another vehicle, which is typical, so I went ahead and check their inventory of used trucks. I was looking in the 5,000- 8,000 range, the rep was aware of this, and what really left me uneasy was the fact that the next lowest priced truck was 16,990. So I responded and told her the vehicle I had asked about was the one I wanted, she had told me the vehicle would be out of the shop in about a week. So we set up an appointment for a Saturday. I hadn t heard any updates on the vehicle in the week prior to the test drive until the night before my appointment was scheduled. She had informed me that they had decided to wholesale the vehicle, and began trying to upsell me again. It really upsets me to be treated as such by a widely reputable company. Overall this experience has been about as terrible as one would expect from a used car dealership of this caliber. You re better off spending your time talking to a brick wall, it ll get you further. Steer clear of this dealership and their unethical antics. Good luck.

They fixed my 1993 Corvette after another shop broke my car more than they fixed it and charged less. Anyone thinking that the car dealer charges more for repairs than local shops is incorrect. They charge jobs based on how long it should cost, regardless of it is takes more or less time, while small shops will charge for every minute of service, even if it is there fault for taking longer than it should have. They have great service and are very honest.

It was a quick and painless transaction. I was pleased with our salesmen (Tom Koch) and our finance rep (Tim). They were friendly, worked quickly to get us a deal we could live with and I am completely satisfied with my 2015 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab LTZ. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I brought my car in because it had 11 codes going off. Most of the codes were due to my negative battery not being tightened. All they did was reset the battery and cleared the codes and replaced a part that was less than fifty dollars which probably didn't even need to be replaced. then overcharged me, I left paying over $500. Then to top it off, my service traction/ esc came on again. Very disappointed.

I've had my car for three years. Brand new off the lot. I've been dealing with problem after problem for the past year. Service will tell me it's one thing when they look at it and when they take it it's a different problem. I will never go back or own a Chevy again.

Way over prices their cars. Not worth buying a car from here. Currently trying to find a new car because I do not feel safe in the one this establishment sold me but due to the outrageous pricing that they claimed was great . I am unable to do so. Be careful if you don t know much about cars, it seems like they only wanted my money. No care for the customer.

Got a notice in the mail that I had a recall for my car. Called Monday and made an appt for Wednesday at 8am. Came in, gave the keys, and was told that a shuttle could take me to work. The shuttle had already left, not knowing I needed a ride as well, so they had one of the service guys (cant remember his name) take me instead. Around 930, I got a call from Fred Yuss saying my car was done. After work, i was picked up by the same guy who took me and brought back. Was able to jump in my car and leave immediately! Great service team and great job! Thanks for everything!

My brakes were not working properly and I was a long way from home needing to get back the following Monday. I called on Friday and they worked me into the schedule, provided a shuttle to and from the dealership and was able to fix the problem. Everyone was professional and yet super friendly. Would refer them to anyone.

Had front end checked out on car needed front struts they also said that you need to replace the springs that's common when you do it a repair like this very expensive also found out through my research on the replacement of front end parts it's not as straightforward as I thought newer cars are much more complicated than what the older vehicle were. Way more expensive than what older days

My daughter is an 8 hour drive away at college and the engine failed on the car she was driving. Mother's worst nightmare.
If you ever find yourself in that scenario, or just want to find a very friendly, helpful and reputable dealership, Jack Schmitt Chevrolet in Wood River is who you need to contact.
Honest evaluation from the service department and a great staff (Everett Droit was our salesman) that helped me get my daughter into a loaner while they evaluated the engine and then helped me get my daughter into a car that she will enjoy for years to come.
I felt well cared for and enjoyed the really helpful manner that each person who worked with us portrayed throughout the process. Special shout out to Everett and Lisa Shain who worked so hard to help me out long distance. I am very happy and appreciative!!!!

Actually, it was your service department that prompted me to buy the new car in the first place. We've always been satisfied with the service. Last year while having our vehicle serviced I browsed the new cars. I wasn't ready to make a purchase as my husband became extremely ill. I would be amiss if I didn't mention Josh Bray who stayed in contact with me, just enough. This was the first time I bought a new car all by myself and he was so helpful. While having my car serviced this last time it was Josh that got me hooked up with the Chevy Rewards Program.

I took my 2004 Chevy Impala in for an oil change and tire rotation. They convinced me that I needed a transmission flush since the car was older. They also tried to convince us that we needed to get the fuel system cleaned out. My husband said no. Our car was running like a top before we took it in. I went and picked up the car and it felt like there was a valve sticking when the car was shifting, which it had NEVER done before. I was heading to work and tried to use the cruise control and it wasn t working at all. It wouldn t even light up in the steering wheel. Again I had NEVER had a problem with that at all. I called and told them that it needed to be fixed because they broke it. I took it back in and they lied to me. They said it was a module that was possibly going bad for the cruise but they didn t have to do anything to it and it started working. I had attempted to use it a few times and it acted dead before we took it back in. I know they did something to it to deactivate it when they were working on the car, and they didn t want to fess up to the fact that they did it and then fixed it. I don t deal well with being lied to. Just be honest and say what your service guys did to mess up my car, don t lie to me and tell me it s because my car is old. I will NEVER go back to Jack Schmidt. Very poor service For my old car that I trusted a dealership to be able to take care of.

I was told that I could bring my car in to get fixed because I had a recall on the vehicle. Set up an appointment and everything and then once we get there I m told they don t do recalls on my specific car and that I needed to go somewhere else. I am a full time student and a teacher and work a second part time job so finding time to do all this is a huge struggle. Normally I would ve been fine but I wish I was told on the phone when making the appointment that I would have to go somewhere else then when speaking with the service department in person I was just brushed off and and Jeff Weber showed zero remorse for his departments screw up. The only person who seemed like they cared was Mike (salesman). I guess they need more Mike s in charge.

I wish the salesman knew more about the specific vehicle we were buying. One example is that the vehicle model we bought did not come with rear speakers. I know that seems like a trivial thing, but there are spots for the speakers in the doors and that is a bit misleading. I realize I probably would have still bought the vehicle if I had known, but I might have went for the next model up. I now have to purchase after market speakers to put in the rear doors of a brand new car. Silly, right? Just a heads up about things like that, and that the only way to enter the hatchback is to turn the vehicle off and use the key would be nice. Also our vehicle was equipped with day time running lights and our salesman knew nothing about them.

Went in for warranty work multiple times. Last time went in for an issue they supposedly fixed 5 days prior. Guess they messed up the last time it was in and tried to cover up their mistake by claiming rodent damage to trailer wiring. Went to Weber Chevy in granite and they confirmed it wasn't rodent damage but mishandled wiring from when jack Schmitt repaired it the previous week. Now I have a 60k truck with 35k miles with spliced wiring because jack Schmitt is not an honest dealership. I've had numerous other problems with them and would highly recommend staying away if you need quality work.

Over the last two years I have taken my Chevrolet ...

Over the last two years I have taken my Chevrolet for most of its service here. One visit was a nice 1800 dollars for a engine problem that was originally quoted at 800. Come to find out now I have a problem with my fuel line leaking on my 2011. Even tho my car is out of warranty I pleaded that I get this discounted somehow. They send me to corporate instead and corporate tells me they will see about helping me after I get my car towed to their shop and after it gets inspected. They were seeing that my car was towed and inspected free at cost I was appreciative that this was starting to look up. Mostly I m upset because anytime before that they would do an oil change they never notified me of my lines were rusting, even the fact that they couldn t give me a sign off checklist on my oil change tag that sticks to my windshield that my brakes battery and tires were good, but yet they can send me a letter months later saying they haven t heard from me that my needed brake change needs to be done. The day before they stated they would give the best price comparison that they could and said that a Chevrolet cobalt(almost similar to mine) just had a service for less than 600 dollars. After they got the inspection done the price somehow managed to go up to 982.42 and there was nothing more they could do to help other than to do that. At this point I m upset to the point that I just want my car back. I go down there and ask for my car keys back so I can have it towed. As always it takes the guy 20 minutes to find my keys and obvious enough it was in the mechanics tool box , which was the first thing he said after he found them. They did not get me an inspection report, just wanted me to sign a paper stating that I would give them permission to inspect and drive my car AFTER they already drove and looked at it. I could not be more frustrated with this place. Just had a buddy go down there to trade in his older but very well kept car, for a nicer and newer one. He told me that the salesman kept showing him newer used cars that he disclosed;

-needed engine work

-needed a head gasket replaced soon

And anything else other than a reliable car.

From my experience and anyone else that I knows experience I will absolutely not recommend going to this location for either purchasing a vehicle or having it serviced. Next step is to call the states attorney General and trade my car in elsewhere.

UPDATE: I won t waste my time in responding to all of your response. GM promised that they would look more into this about getting some credit applied toward this since this is an uncommon problem but said only after the dealer got the chance to inspect my vehicle. After your department checked it out they denied any help including your specific location to the point that everyone with authority was not available . I noticed how you pinpointed about my odometer being 150K+. Really goes to show how much your service department actually pays attention to vehicles. My car is yet to this day touch 150K. If you can t even get the facts straight on my mileage on the car really goes to show that it s not surprising to know that you couldn t notice a rusty fuel line on an oil change. You ll have your story and I have mine, last thing that I am is a freeloader that has only been to your location twice, because I know it s more than that.

Poor communication and poor execution morphed a simple one day repair into a four day ordeal. Fred made way too many presumptions to list, despite admitting that he did not know anything about the repairs. If they had just ordered the two parts together and addressed both issues, the repair could have been completed in a day or two instead of four or five.

Fred, getting irritated because I called to follow up on the progress just made matters worst.

After going to a few dealerships in search of a new vehicle, I found Tom Koch very refreshing. He wasn't pushey and listened to what I wanted. He didn't call me and text me to see when I would return. He was just what I needed. Stated what was available and let me see all options without being overbearing.

I brought my car in for an oil change. First they didn't put the plastic battery cover back on and it ended up getting stuck in by radiator fan. It didn't break the fan but the battery cover was pretty tore up. Second they took the in-cabin air filter out to show me that there were leaves in it and that it needed to be replaced. I told them that I would just put a new one in myself. So they just shoved it back in with the leaves on it, which made leaves blow out of my car vents. Dude just rub the damn leaves off before you put it back in. Learn how to take care of your customers and not just pretend like you do!!

Overall, I was pleased with the work the Parts and Service Department did for me. In February 2020, I accidentally ran over a racoon, causing $3,300 in damage. The body work they did looks really good, and my car is running fantastically. I have two reasons for giving four stars instead of five. First, it took 29 days for them to finish the work, and from what I gathered, most of that time was spent simply waiting on parts to arrive. That's probably beyond the control of the Service Department, but it's no less frustrating. Secondly, I didn't appreciate that the gentleman I was working with wouldn't call me when he told me he would. Twice he told me he would call me the next day and he didn't. I had to call him, and he had the answers to my questions both times, so it wasn't as though he was waiting to get an answer before calling me. On the day I got my car, I happened to be in the area, so I stopped by just to see how far along the repairs were. To my surprise, he told me it was ready and he hadn't bothered to call me. As I said, I was happy with the work, and I'm happy to use them again. I just wish they would they would show me the courtesy of returning my calls as quickly as possible instead of waiting until the end of the day.

I got a email this morning reminding me of the appointment I had scheduled with our sales man so I could purchase a car( which was supposedly ready for us) for my son today who is also getting his license today! Went in asked for our salesman and he came out and said it was sold yesterday! I live over 1 1/2 hours away. Wasted trip!!! So now I get to drive another 1 1/2hours back home to get to see the disappointment on my son's face when he gets home from school thinking his new car is here and its not! Worst experience yet trying to purchase a car!!! Thumbs down!!!
