Jac's Cekola's Pizza Review

I love their pizza the only thing that's better is their buffet. I've always gotten great service and food I also love their wings too

Most food is very good, but anytime we get the pizza we feel awful afterwards.

It's a nice sports bar with unique items on the menu.

What I had was a nacho, it was very nasty, I don't even think it was meat they put on it!!! Will never go back!!!

Love their deck area! Wait staff was friendly and efficient. Food was well prepared.

Had to change my review from 5 to 4 stars because of my first bad experience here. Shame because the food is still so great but the policies and alcohol management really take away the experience.

Always love stopping in at Jac's the service is always amazing, the food is fantastic and I highly recommend the Martini menu! So good!!

The Portage location is by far our favorite. The wait staff is always great (Haley is my new favorite) and the food is ALWAYS delicious!! You won't be disappointed with their specials and the plethora of TV's! If you want more of a quiet/intimate setting they do have a restaurant side as well!

4 pizzas 8 people everyone left hungry and they're were two small girls. Beers were hard to come by and pop was non existent. Not impressed. Place has fallen off in a year's time.

Brilliant thin crust pizza, nearly best in town. Great for groups and watching sports. Just wish Jac's looked cleaner.

The food was alright, but I had a very hard working friend who worked there for a period of time. I do not recommend working there if you have a choice. The owners treated her very badly.

The pizza sauce is black as sin and their mixed drinks are sad. Whoever mixes them cuts every corner and they re weak. If you want good food and drinks for your money, this is not your place.

Great tasting pizza, although the pepperoni was extremely salty. The service was good. But the food was expensive.

Always go here for the NFL games and they do a great job. Never feel rushed or pressured. Great beer selection and an awesome Bloody Mary bar along with the always first class pizza.

Good food, friendly servers. Lots of TV's for sports viewing. A separate room is available for private parties or gatherings.

I really like the pizza here. It's my favorite in the greater Kalamazoo area. It's a thin crust and it's not slathered in sauce. I'm not a fan of lots of sauce and I really don't like pizza sauce that is sweet. Jac's does well on both counts. Not too saucy and the sauce is not sweet. The service has been a little slow on most of my visits, but they are always nice.

Usually the food is great, but it was mediocre this time, my friend love his however, the service was great though.

This is me and my fiancee's favorite bar/ restaurant. Drinks are great, food is great. I would recommend this place to any of my friends.

The inside is typical sports bar, and not really my thing. However, out back is a cozy little patio that faces into a wooded acre. It feels secluded and away. Standard bar appetizers were decent. We also ordered a pretty tasty pizza. Super-thin crust, semi-sweet sauce, and quality cheese. Service was the only thing keeping my review from being 5 stars. It was just ... ok

Love the crab Rangoon! Especially the house made dipping sauce!!

I was there to have 1 drink and that was it. Everything was fine and going like clock work. No problems or issues, friendly service. Next time, I will try dine in.

Paid our 1st (long overdue) visit tonight. House chips highly recommended! Plenty of worthy beers on tap as well.

FOr the 9th street location....took a bunch of coworkers to have pizza.....guess what, no pizza.... they would bring one out every so often, but there was probably 100 people in there....very disappointing. We had to go get lunch some place else.

The food is phenomenal! Jac's is the perfect spot to catch the game, have dinner with family/friends or grab a quick lunch. If you like craft beer, this is your place! Always a huge selection of new and old favorites. They also have a banquet room that is ideal for larger gatherings. Check out the covered deck seating too; TV's, individually controlled ceiling fans, comfortable seating...

Good lunch buffet and prices are fair. Withholding a full statement on their pizza because I only enjoyed their buffet slices, which I know are never anyone's best product. They were unique and worth a try. If you remember the old Starworld Arcade days in Portage then this pizza will take you back as it did me - same owners and recipe I'm told. A person I was with ordered a vegetarian pizza and raved about how good that was. Despite being fairly slow in the place, service was not great. We didn't require much support but we were rarely checked on and eventually had to flag a server down to request a check.

The shrimp poppers were very mediocre. The pasta sauce tasted store bought and was on over cooked noodles. The pizza was a soggy thin crust pizza, the mushrooms were definitely from a can and had the metal/tin taste. The onion rings we're the only pretty decent thing about the buffet part. The staff was nice but you could obviously tell me and my dad were not overly happy with our food and they didn't say anything about it. I ate maybe half a slice of pizza off my plate and our waiter didn't ask or say anything about the fact we probably didn't like our food. It almost felt as if they were getting us out as fast as possible. Will not be going there again. Good atmosphere though, much like a sports bar.

Usually go for the lunch buffet which features pizza, salad bar, soup,chilli some pasta and a rotating dish of either chicken, fried shrimp,or boiled potatoes or onion rings.

The pizza is ok. I usually go for the daily feature and salad bar.

Staff is attentive.The buffet has the tendecy to run low on food as it does not seem to be checked often enough during the busy time. This can be frustrating if you get there at the wrong time.

My 1st visit. Food was great and prepared fresh and fast. Our service was exceptional. Will definitely travel to Kalamazoo to eat here again.

The food it s okay, don t give me wrong. I had been there a few times now and on my last visit I had a spaghetti and meat balls and the meat was way over cooked ( it was actually rock hard yuck) that s why I give them a 2 star!

Great atmosphere great waitress food is a little pricey

Thought we would try this place, I drive by it a lot and read on here plenty of good reviews. Just wanted an easy burger for lunch.
The second we walked in the stench of a highway rest area knocked us over. Urine and urinal cake smell was so gross we had to turn around and walk out, gasping for fresh air.
No thank you. I don't think I could be drunk enough to eat here. I have no clue how some place could smell like that and get away with it. I can only hope they fold, As anyone running a restaurant like this shouldn't even be in the business. Shame on you Jac's!!
No wonder there wasn't a single soul eating or drinking there.
I'll be calling the Department of Public Health on Monday to report this place. No one should be eating here. My girlfriend has a horrible sense of smell and even she was knocked over. How can any of you even tolerate it?

Family owned and they are always there to make sure food & drink are right. Bloody Mary bar rocks.

Pizza isn't very good. Have tried sandwiches, do can't speak to them.

It's a decent pub with similar competition in the area.

Food was okay service was okay. Was not real impressed though with their socials distancing on the outside patio.

Quality of food you can depend on. Rather extensive menu. Sports bar atmosphere. Well worth your giving it a try.

Cekola's pizza is the best! The restaurant is great, the food is great, the microbrew selection is great, and the service is phenomenal!

In response to Doug's review below: I am from Buffalo, NY: Born, raised, huge wing fan. Cekola's wings are the closest thing to REAL Buffalo wings I've had since moving away. If you want small, gummy, rubbery, rosemary thai, wings go to BW3. If you want real Buffalo wings go to Cekola's!
