Don't even waste your time. You'll take longer trying to figure out their system or how to make an appointment than walking to Italy. When you actually make it inside all they know how to say is go on the website "Fast it" and process what you need there, which should be called "SLOW it". I need my passport for work which I keep on missing because these people don't do their job. 7 months waiting for my passport now. When I went in and told them I needed it for work they told me get a new job. I have held myself back from this being a review full of insults. I hope you all get fired & if I could put zero instead of one star I would.

The reservation system is indeed demented. As others say it is impossible to book an appointment if you are not online at 11:59 pm, for a booking two weeks later. I wonder what the reasons are and I point out that explaining them would help overcome the sense of frustration. That said, and to counterbalance the almost unpleasantly horrendous judgments left online, I must say that once the booking was made, everything went as smoothly as oil. I had to renew my passport, I brought all the necessary documentation (clearly indicated in the form) and I got my passport in an hour. This is my second visit to the consulate in Barcelona. The first was for the AIRE registration. In both cases, after passing the reservation hurdle, my experience at the consulate was positive. Quick and courteous staff. Even today I have not heard anyone complain and I think they have all been treated with courtesy. I do not doubt negative experiences but I believe they are not a representative sample. Probably those who, like me, do not have much to complain about simply do not write a review.

It 'obvious and obvious that given the number of people with an Italian passport resident in Barcelona (not only Italians, but many Argentinians with Italian passport), they should absolutely provide more money and human resources to the consulate. It is scandalous that one to ask for information should pay 807 more than 1 euro per minute.
I lived in Dublin and the consulate there more or less works. A barcelona is absolutely outrageous. We should denounce the situation to the foreign ministry!

1 star because Google does not allow giving less. An operator cannot be contacted by email or telephone. My son born in Barcelona but with Italian citizenship cannot go to Italy to know the family because of the inability of the operators of the Italian consulate in Barcelona and the bad service offered by the institution itself. They refuse to give my son the identity card because it is not clear. I sent all the documentation as indicated on the web page: registration to the AIRE of my child; birth certificate communication; I asked to change the data in my form (since I am registered with AIRE), I tried to make an appointment via the web and it is useless to say that it is impossible, even by connecting and sending the request for 00:00 am I succeeded, the ALWAYS error system. The answer of the operator who handled my file? your request ARCHIVE! With an absolute rudeness using words in bold and in capital letters. But who do they think they are to treat a compatriot like this? until proven otherwise I can read and I followed the instructions to the letter in the bad web page they have. I replied very politely to the email I received and obviously I received no reply. Do they talk about reimbursement, and the photos and documents I sent? how do I get them back (considering that some documents are original copies)? where do we put them? Moreover, the frustration of not being able to obtain a document that I have to have by law and by law. The annoyance of not being able to travel with my son where we put it? Bad !!!!!!

If I could select 0 stars, I would! Terrible service at counter 3. Disrespectful, and super rude secretary. Shocking experience! A consulate should help Italians abroad say, thank goodness !!! I am sorry for my colleagues because, fortunately, I was then helped by others, nice, polite and helpful. Thanks Andrea for your help!

I have been trying to get an appointment online for weeks and the free days boxes do not allow you to make the appointment. I went to the consulate and they told me that only by internet. A disaster !

SIMPLY HORRIBLE

SIMPLY HORRIBLE

The staff is nothing short of unreasonable, snooty, of no help and with little or no desire to help / work. The only one who really does his part is the carabiniere who is in control of the entrances.

Almost all the services are managed through appointments, which can be fixed at 15 days at sight and at times often inaccessible to a worker.

There is no official online consultation service (the paid call center is not recognized by the consulate) and the information on the online page is often obsolete. Consequently, the result of the appointment is the same as playing Russian roulette.

The services are relatively expensive so much that it costs less to return to their homeland and attend to their practices, avoiding endless queues and moreover being treated like a criminal.

Bad service, it seems more the immigration office for Latin Americans than an office dedicated to Italian citizens who instead pay taxes, but apparently without compensation. They only have rights to us only duties. Shame

The same clowning as always. Third world service. Internet sites with pages that do not lead anywhere. Quasi impossible to communicate with someone. "Automatic" dating system that keeps insistently asking for the same data 3 or 4 times ... and finally ... it does not work.
Is this the consulate of a European country?

I asked to change my residence 6 months ago, impossible to talk to anyone or receive an answer by email. I wonder why they call the website FAST IT, it's everything but fast! Worst service ever.

I have to renew the identity card that I have expired for a year, that is to say that I am undocumented !. I ask "cita previa", but how I am registered, for 12 years, I don't remember the password and there is no way to recover it. I tried with three different emails and nothing. What can I do ?, I'm desperate.!

Unnecessary. Non-existent service. It is impossible to have any kind of contact with the staff, no one replies to emails even for the most trivial of information. I don't get the ballot papers, I ask for explanations, but it's like talking to the wall. No response in weeks. I state that I am regularly registered with the Aire. Wages thrown away for doing absolutely nothing in front of the computer, yuck!

Indecent! The time for the renewal of a document is strangely long and the officials are quite indifferent. Consequently, if you need a document urgently, and with urgent I mean within 4 months, better go to Italy. I therefore wonder ... what is the point in registering with A.I.R.E.?

Impossible to make an appointment from the website...

Impossible to make an appointment from the website which, among other things, turns out to be the only solution given by the Consulate itself! It is absolutely not a service at the service of the citizen.

I AM ABOUT TO GIVE ME AN INFARCTION !! For starters it seems inappropriate that we have to call an 807 to ask for information.
And to top it all off, there is no human way in recent weeks to take a number in the online appointment. I have to put the alarm at 00:00 to try to get a number!
If someone can give me a tip I appreciate it very much.

Appalling! And the worst of all starts from the doorman of the building that has bad treatment and who does not think he is! A headache having to go there. No matter what happens, they must learn to organize themselves better. Nobody reviews these opinions?

Apart from the slowness of the system to be able to have an appointment, the people I met at the counters are almost all rude, they don't give the impression of wanting to help. If you ask for information, the answer is to look at the site.
I have been living in Barcelona for 7 years and have had to go to the consulate several times. I've never been happy. Last time the lady didn't even look at me. But the worst thing is slowness.

My experience has been positive. Certainly I had some difficulty in booking the appointment via the internet, but once it was successful, the procedure was swift and with total collaboration from all the employees, who by the way are very correct. Greetings

My experience..well! nor have I gone once !!! because the site is already made fatal super super bad and part of it is only about 4 issues and I need other information! and finally calling either have helped me and have been super rude!

I had commented putting a star: "bad bad, very bad! Inability to make an appointment, only online, where some dates open for a few minutes which inevitably end in no time. Then, from Friday at 4 am until Monday all closed! When they reopen they say the system is blocked! Greetings and greetings to all "
I changed from 1 star to 3 because today I must say I was very well received and those of the Consulate staff helped me a lot.
The lady who received me was super fast and very friendly as were her colleagues.
So 5 stars for the staff and the people who work there, I remain with 1 star for the online dating system and for the smallness of the consulate, for me unworthy for how small it is. They told me that they are waiting for a bigger office, I hope so, for those who work there and especially for their compatriots who will need help from the Italian consulate.
A greeting

A great crap the management of the Italian Consulate; I have a month and a half waiting for a response about a documentation and still no one gives me a solution to help me. On the other hand, the guard a great rude good for nothing who disrespected me yesterday by telling me that; He is not a computer scientist to know why the page did not let me register in the FASTIT.
I don't know what they are doing consulate work for but they know how to serve the community; what they do is spend the money of the Italian government and leave the Italians who live in BCN to revive.

My son, who lives in Barcelona, lost his passport and is still waiting for his new passport.
It's a shame because he needs a passport to work. They are more than 2 months waiting.
I still have the confidence that they will be able to write a very positive review! Thank you

Horrible! AN INOPERATING Consulate financed by the ITALIAN PEOPLE and I see that I am not the only one who thinks so!
To this list we must add all those who happen to leave a bad opinion for not losing 3 minutes in them, not because they do not deserve it!
If you call there is a recording, if you go personally there is a payment security that DOES NOT let you go up unless you have an appointment and they are waiting for some procedure.
If what you are going to ask is not in your web or in that recording, how do you do to solve doubts? you can not go to YOUR CONSULATE that represents YOUR COUNTRY to inform you? they deny you to enter YOUR country? Or is that only in the movies?

I asked online for a passport appointment (knowing that although the question was about the passport that day I would not do it because I was missing steps I did not know how to do and from there I WANTED AND NEED TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE or I would be eternally in a deadlock without to be able to do what I need)
BUT IT WAS MORE OF THE SAME!
ACHIEVE ENTER BECAUSE I WAS NOW IN THAT DAMN LIST.
The public workers at the service of the citizenship, since it is from her that they charge, are parapeded behind a protective glass.
That already indicates that something is wrong in there ... and it is not for safety because before you have gone through a metal detector and there is a police as you go up and enter the floor, in case something happened.
I wonder if they are aware that people would like to spit their faces if they could (given the rejection they generate with their attitude)
From the security of your bubble, they feel a great power to speak to you EVIL or directly leave you with the word in your mouth with a total lack of respect (in my case I did an official of about 60 years who was in the window of more to the left when I went)
In short and thanks to the aforesaid official, he did not solve my problem and he did not even want to tell me who to address because Y ALZANDO LA VOZ !!! He told me that he was not the one in that section and when I asked him who was then addressing me, he answered that he did not know.
In short ... A SHAME OF OFFICERS and a worse Consul that allows their workers to work like this and not remedy it.
Just by doing a search on inetrnet you could see that the negative comments are multiple and from a long time.
There goes my only star, Senor Consul! and from what I see, there are hundreds who unfortunately (and because there is no other if you live in Barcelona) we had to go there.

hello and several days that I can not make an appointment online reading on the site of the consulate there is a possibility to request appointment by mail I would like to know how to do that there is no information and almost 9 months ke I wait for my passport and an update of my marital status I understand that there are many people who require consular services but it seems excessive to me I sent various emails but without ever receiving an answer.

If you combine the inefficiency of the Italian bureaucracy, already cumbersome, with an unfortunate appointment system, waiting times for any procedure that exceeds months, disastrous face-to-face attention and a desire to work that do not exist ... you get the Consulate Italian from Barcelona. To be the largest foreign community in the city, the service that our country is giving us, paid for by our taxes, is outrageous. Unpresentable.

Useless at a professional level. 8 months that I sent the documentation and waiting for the code to remove it and send me an email saying that there is no code and that I make a normal appointment. You have to be very UNSUSE when it takes 8 months to send an email saying that you have not done anything yet. But ... to spend the paperwork money if they are fast. Corrupt!

The person who gives you the passport told me that they give passports to anyone and there was a significant resentment towards those of us who have acquired inheritance nationality. The staff are not friendly nor much less friendly.

It is shameful for a two-month change in residence appearance without getting any response except that of a ROBOT. I cross my fingers, let's see if I can vote. Do not worry that the passport will renew it in Italy. Rating = 0 split

Experience not to be repeated. They stole my bag with documents inside, after reporting to the police, on Friday at about 1.30pm, I start to call, again from the police station, a note of credit to the police officers who were very kind. From the number no one answers, answering machine with the usual types 1, 2, 3. After 20 Min I go on the web, phone x emergencies not reachable. I take a taxi and go directly to the consulate, where they miraculously open me. I thought: how lucky I am at home, instead the first lady, with a very kind air, tells me: I'm going out to go to my colleague, she gets angry that she too has to go out, which is not done in time, which by now Italy is all closed, that in Italy I will not be safe on Monday. All this because I was delaying it, but can it?
I was telling her that she is paid with my taxes as well. He eventually practice, served two photos and then I go out and td x x them. Return and for luck the girl was gone. Eventually a gentleman gave me my etd.

I put a star because I can not zero.

I put a star because I can not zero.
It is a shame all: the treatment of the citizen, lousy; the slow, lousy; not being able to call a happy normal telephone number (I'm tired of calling the call center in the Canary Islands), lousy. All wrong, wrong, wrong. It makes you want to change your nationality.

Regrettable. More than two hours of waiting, poor service, uninformed and unfriendly. I came to pick up my passport and suddenly they asked me for a document that they did not notify me in the email I needed and that I had already sent in the application. All waiting for nothing. The lady who attended me was terribly unpleasant and was talking on the phone with another person most of the time, in addition to discussing the obvious: they do not warn in the mail that you have to bring ANY document. Simply lamentable.

It is impossible to get a previous appointment for the page, I have already tried in all possible ways and nothing, it is a shame we have to leave the country and my son has a passport expired, since that date I am trying and nothing .. If someone knows how I can solve this I would appreciate it very much

You need to change system. And maybe also be more nice and provide solutions instead to be aggressive. You should help Italians that live here. Consulate has 4 opening hours per day, impossible to take an appointment, security guy at the door really rude and when you manage to go upstairs they told you to go to Italy when I am inscribed at AIRE and they should be the ones handling this issues. i think we have a major problem here. London embassy is NOT like Barcelona one..so make me think you should do something in order to improve your services.

Yesterday I went to the Italian Consulate in Barce...

Yesterday I went to the Italian Consulate in Barcelona and I want to express my disappointment with the service I received.
First the goalkeeper down at the palace literally blocks the people who come up. I went there having an expired identity card and an imminent trip to work. I can convince him to let me ring and ask to come up to explain my urgency.
A policeman receives me and tries to liquidate me immediately, telling me that he asked me on the intercom to stay down and not go up while he asked if something could be done about my problem.
I explain everything to him and he goes to do a consultation, after 5 minutes he returns and tells me that nothing can be done, to have an identity card I have to send everything by mail and I have to wait 4 to 6 months, absurd.
Allibita I asked him to be able to talk to someone and he makes me talk to a lady, who immediately silences me and tells me that I had to think about it before, since I had expired the Identity Card and going to Italy I would have the documents in the day . I wonder: what is your function then? It is not possible to enter in person, it is not possible to book an appointment online, it is not possible to telephone, the renewal works only by mail with very long waiting times of 4-6 up to 9 months ....
To these words I told her that I was deeply disappointed and that as an Italian citizen I did not feel represented, protected and helped.
The Consulate is the representation of a country and its citizens in a territory, I felt myself in a situation of profound injustice yesterday.
I hope that many will read the numerous complaints of Italian citizens in Barcelona and that something will soon change in our favor.
We are not well represented and what is unacceptable is that there are people in these offices with a total absence of professionalism.
Not only are we not helped, we must also be treated badly whenever we go there.

PS: I want to specify that we need to put at least one star or not to allow the publication, so I put one.

A star only for the inability to give a negative v...

A star only for the inability to give a negative vote that would be between -10 and -1000 ... Incompetence, inefficiency, indifference, inaccessibility, in short, the mirror of Italy.
My passport expires on 29/12/2019, the day from which I will be totally free of personal identity documents, therefore unable to travel and at risk in case of control by the local police.
In August (August 14) I sent the documentation with A / R for the identity card ..... I don't know anything yet, they don't deign to reply to the emails .... they are so overwhelmed that I see them sweating.
Go in person? impossible, you must have an appointment! make appointment? impossiile: you have to be in front of the pc at an unspecified night time, like a conspirator, a charcoal worker, otherwise you say goodbye to the homeland !!
the system is saturated, to date until 24 January it's all busy, but they don't even allow you to make an appointment for the first day available, no. you have to stay there and pray to one of their saints to have c.u.l.o.
a phone number? you are crazy if you think you have available (AS MANY CONSULATES OF CIVIL COUNTRIES) a 93, but come on .... we have a paid number 807 !!!! for which this summer I received a surprise of 40 euros extra bills for inquiries.
What else to say? we are the usual, when you are dealing with something Italian, there is only to cry or hope to have a "saint in paradise", because through the official route it is impossible to see your rights as a citizen respected. In conclusion, Madame Console, you are directing an institution which is a real SHIT.

This is the only Italian consulate that the porter won't let you pass if you don't have an appointment. The porter answers all your questions and gives you directions. In all other consulates it is possible to enter and request information for an official.

When you can finally make an appointment and talk to an employee, they tell you that the porter does not work for the Consulate and is not authorized to provide information.

I am organizing a complaint at the Madrid embassy to denounce this nonsense.

I was born in Argentina, but, also, I have Italian...

I was born in Argentina, but, also, I have Italian citizenship, a detail that seems to be something that is not in good taste for the workers of the Italian consulate in Barcelona. Although the bureaucracy and the lack of empathy in the attention to the citizens that we were NOT born in Italy, it was common, and I experienced it, a long time ago, when I managed the citizenship in my country of birth.
I have been living in Catalonia for 13 years and renewing my Italian passport has been worse than a delivery. From the simple fact of making telephone consultations, ask questions to the security man who usually put "filter" at the door of the consulate, try to take a turn for personal attention, with long lines and waiting times, for example, was always a chaos, which leaves anyone with a feeling of enormous frustration and impotence.
But this year I was pleasantly surprised to have renewed my passport without problems.
I wrote an email to the consulate with some questions. They answered me, in Italian, giving me the information with links to the consulate website. I made all the copies they asked for, the deposit of the money in Banco Santander, the photographs and I sent it by mail with acknowledgment of receipt (although they do not demand it, it was a peace of mind for me to leave a record of having received it). After two months, they sent me an email with the instructions to request the appointment on the web, for the final phase. The 21st century, finally, came to the administration of the consulate!
I chose the day and time and there I was present on the corresponding day.
There was a security person at the entrance of the building and a short row comparing it with the one that was formed years ago.
I went up to the office, minutes later they called me from an office where a woman called me, called Alba. The attention was quick and pleasant. I left my fingerprints. I left the office and within minutes the same lady called me back to give me my new passport. Obviously, I let her know my thanks and congratulations for making me feel good, for the first time, in all these years.
Through the window of A.I.R.E, I was also treated by a girl, very well. But she refused to give me her name. I guess burned by so many years of claims. Likewise, I explained to him that it was to congratulate him for his pleasant attention.
We know that those who serve the public must have minimum qualities to do well and we also know that it is their responsibility to attend well. But ... It's not good that, compared to how badly they were doing it, congratulate those who do it well? I am sure that this motivates them to continue on the right path.
In short, I can not complain. This year, renewing the passport, it was a very positive experience.

Please

Please
Anyone know where or how it can be done to denounce these unpresentables
Because I thought it didn't happen to me anymore
But reading these reviews I see that there are many who have treated like me
Thank you

No stars at all is what this people deserve. Horrible attention, dreadful website and even worse mechanisms to get a simple appointment. Shame on them. It looks like they don't know that with our taxes WE pay their salaries. The appointment process is made so almost no one can get a date to go there. It's our right to have a passport! And don't even think of reaching them by phone. It's unacceptable the service and resources they offer to Italian citizens. Yuk.
