Island View Hawaii Review

Such a beautiful experience! MUST DO! Our guide, Rider was experienced and calm. I was nervous to say the least. But NO need! Such a cool experience. Do it. You will NOT regret it!

Was an amazing experience & would do it again (in a heartbeat)! Everyone we worked with to get it scheduled & the guys who took us out were awesome & accommodating!

Great instructors and awesome adventure. Saw so many sharks and it really changes your mind about them. I wouldn t do it again but it was definitely a bucket list experience and the instructors made it very fun.

I was a first-time snorkeler on this trip, so I spent a fair amount of time trying to acclimate myself and not inhale too much sea water! The crew was patient, encouraging, and very safety-conscious, and at no time did I feel unsafe with the sharks. Watching them swim only feet away was a beautifully peaceful and calming experience. Having had additional snorkeling experience since, I would love to go again!

AMAZING!!!! Where to start??? I was worried this would be just another corporate tour where I am crowded on to a boat and rushed through the motions. IT IS NOT!! The three man crew made me feel like a friend right away when i arrived. The max number of guests is six. After we all talked and got comfortable, the crew gave a safety speech. The crew's priority was our safety and respect for the sharks. I couldn't have felt more comfortable, safe and part of the family. THIS IS A MUST DO!!!!! I will be back for sure. THANKS ISLAND VIEW YOUR TOUR WAS LIFE CHANGING!!!

Wife and I had an amazing time fighting our fears swimming so close to these beautiful creatures. They were professional and curious. Highly recommended them.

I made it back from an epic dive with Kaiea and Ryder. Echoing all the other reviews, it was an amazing and unforgettable experience. I had a lot of anxiety booking the tour that I'd be in the water with no cage but it was oddly a rather peaceful experience. I felt super safe and Kaiea/Ryder were both very attentive- constantly checking in and giving direction to keep everyone safe and accounted for. We saw 3 Galapagos Sharks, 1 Hammerhead, a few Mahi fish and a couple of humpback whales once we were back on the boat. What an unforgettable morning...highly recommend this!

This adventure was every bit of exciting as advertised. We snorkeled with Galapagos Sharks in the open ocean. The crew is very knowledgeable and eased any concerns we had before departing. It is a truly perspective changing experience and I would highly recommend this to any ocean enthusiast who visits Oahu.

This team was organized, professional, and I felt safe the entire time. It was the best experience we had in Hawaii. They took many pictures/video with our GoPro so their rule of no cameras was a non-issue. We loved it!

Omg Absolutely Breath Taking!!! The crew was awesome and explained everything perfectly. As soon as we got to the spot, the sharks did exactly what they said , and when we entered the water (even tho I was super nervous and excited and scared) once I was lowered in the water, and calmly swam to the diver, the sharks just swam around us, and looking at them and seeing them from a new perspective was absolutely amazing!!! Leave everything you heard about sharks and jaws behind because they are wonderful animals!!!

AMAZING experience! Once in a lifetime. Would highly recommend Island View Hawaii to anyone looking to go beyond their comfort zone. The total dive time is about 30 minutes--and as soon as we anchored, our boat was surrounded by somewhere around 50 sharks. Groups are kept small too, so you can be confident that the tours are intimate and safe.

I would do this again in a heartbeat but only with this company. I was so scared at first but after the safety briefing I felt a little better. Then we got to the open water and I saw a huge shark in the water and I almost chickened out but I'm SO GLAD I didn't!! I found my bearings and was the first one in the water (after our safety instructor of course)!! These guys watch everything, constantly, they know what they're doing and they're in constant communication with each other! They knew I was pretty scared (even though there's no reason to be) so when a shark came close he would literally put himself in between the shark and myself to ease my fears!! I cannot say enough good things about this crew, the knowledge, the respect, the experience is unparalleled!! I already had so much respect for this misunderstood species and that just grew even more!! I'm just in awe of the mellow tempered sharks and the amazing staff we had along the way!! I cannot wait to come back and snorkel with them again!! Mahalo for such an amazing experience!!

Very friendly and professional. They have floats to use if needed and make sure you feel safe and comfortable at all times. Love how personalble they are as well. Been twice now and you can tell they truly love taking people out and enjoy the time spent. Also love that they are a local family run business.

It may sound cliche but this really is an experience of a lifetime! The crew at Islandview took the time to really educate us about sharks and their behaviors/characteristics. Going in to the dive I had a pretty big fear of sharks but I actually gained a much greater sense of respect for them and definitely a better understanding of them. Book a tour with these guys, it s something you won t regret or forget!

A very nice crew, who gives all the advice so that the dive takes place in the best conditions and attentive to the respect of the rules of safety. An absolutely exceptional moment that I lived calmly thanks to a trio as serious as relaxed. To do without hesitation, it's a unique experience

1,000x better than a cage!!! The guys were super chill and were easy to work with. We saw alot of sharks, hammerhead, barracuda and some dolphins. Worth every penny! Also on the way out they stopped real quick to pick up some trash out of the ocean which was awesome to see.

3 times with these guys and still counting. Out of the world experience.

Had the most amazing time on the boat today with Kaiwi, Kahuka and Ryder making it an absolutely unforgettable experience. They made us all feel extremely comfortable, and shown me a new perspective of how sharks really are in their natural habitat. Would highly recommend, just approach with an open mind - Ryan from Aus

Incredible experience.
Impressive, madness and scary

We drove out with the 3-man crew about 3 miles and then in 80mtr. deep blue and crystal clear water snorkeled. That alone was impressive.
At first I was really afraid to go into the water, but thanks to the super friendly team, I was of course also in the sea.
After 10 minutes the first shark came, then the second, third, fourth and in the end we swam with 5 sharks.
In the beginning the heart was still up to the neck with fear and excitement and then in the end it was absolutely calm and peaceful.
It was amazing !!!

Hello all. My name is Steve from Delaware. It was an awesome and amazing experience in the water today. Felt really relaxed due to the experience of the men that run the dive tour. Hope to come back some day and dive again. I would recommend this tour group for anyone wanting to dive with sharks.

I was very nervous doing this but I am so glad I did it!! Justin, Katie, and Ryder were awesome and very informative! Justin was sure that all our nerves were calm. Such a surreal experience! A must do!

The shark dive was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. There were three employees that went with us on the boat - most importantly it was a small group (total of 5 of us).

Safety is their priority, and they started the process with a 15 minute review of safety, etc. We went out about 3 miles on the boat (15-20 mins) and there were sharks visible almost immediately after arriving to the area. We could see 5 sharks all at once. We spent about 20 minutes in the open water, and the sharks sometimes come very close to you. One of the employees got some amazing photos under water (for a small additional fee).

Overall, I would highly recommend Island View Hawaii. Amazing experience. Great staff.

Couldn t recommend Islandview Hawai i highly enough. Fantastic and memorable experience. Guides were great, and logistics were easy. Perfect from start to finish!

Smaller groups. Friendly staff that calm nerves and so helpful in the water!! They're right there if you're struggling with the water or scared of the sharks.
If I do it again itll be with them!

The experience was simply amazing. Every member of their team was friendly, professional, and they created a very comfortable atmosphere. I would go again in an instant.

If you have fears about doing the tour...don't. They are more than willing to be between you and the sharks the entire time and do a great job of making you comfortable. In our group, a couple were more scared and stayed close to the safety diver. Someone who wasn't comfortable swimming was able to use a flotation device. Others like myself were able to swim around a little to get a better view. It is just an awesome experience.

For those of you wanting to use a GoPro or have an issue with the GoPro policy. I am telling you that it isn't worth it. I thought for sure that I would want mine during the tour. As soon as I had it, I just wish I didn't. It felt like it was in the way and I ended up just turning it off. The experience is just beautiful and amazing. You should spend your time enjoying it and not trying to get the perfect shot. I used mine for about 10 minutes. But the whole time I had it, I kept trying to pawn it off on one of my buddies so I could just enjoy the experience. It is simply amazing to be among these animals. Enjoy it and trust that they will get great shots of you and the sharks.

I took several videos and a couple pictures but the videos and pictures they took are my favorite. Yeah I have a cool video of a shark swimming by me...but I am not in it. Looks like a shot from shark week. Their pictures are awesome because you can see yourself and the sharks. They are able to get a much better angle. Just trust me.

The experience is worth it pictures or not. But just soak it in. Appreciate the beauty of the scene around you. I loved the entire experience and would definitely do it again.

Just as an FYI...

Take Dramamine if you know you are going to get seasick and if you don't know if you will, take it anyway. One of my buddies got sick in the water and not on the boat. He threw up. Not pleasant.

If you're not a strong swimmer, you can float with their flotation devices. So don't let that stop you.

Literally the most awesome experience EVER! The guides are knowledged and will make you feel comfortable the entire time. I HIGHLY recommend doing this tour! Put the fears aside and see the TRUE BEAUTY of sharks ALOHA!

The team with Island View is knowledgeable and friendly. The experience is like unreal. No words can describe it. I truly admire and will pay forward the message that Island View hopes to share about sharks and trying to break the stereotypes that have been created by media. They are beautiful creatures and like with anything in Mother Nature, it's about respect. I would 110% recommend to anyone who can swim and who wants to have an experience of a lifetime.

So, so worth it! The crew was amazing and made it so comfortable for us! They were even able to convince my husband to get in the water after he was adamant that he wouldn't swim with the sharks. He had the best time too! Definitely a must!
