Hospitality was great food was good. Beds were hard but we had a good stay

Expensive, and shouldn't be. The hotel is mediocre at best, you pay for the location NOT for the hotel. With that said, we had a great time. View is wonderful. Management was quick to move our friends to a new room (after smelling the first) and the a.c. blew cold.

We were assigned rooms on the 4th floor which had dormered ceilings that were quit literally dangerous. I am 5 ft 2 inches tall and needed to bend over in half to get around the bed and into the bathroom. The 4th floor was obviously just an attic that was converted into tiny guest rooms. I wasnt paying close attention one time walking around the bed and smacked my head hard on the dormer. We had to block the circumference of the bed with chairs so we wouldn't accidentally run into the dormer. At these prices rooms like this shouldn't even exist.

We love bringing our groups here year after year. This season we have three tours visiting. They make everyone feel special and bend over backwards to please their guests. Carol has kept our business here due to this commitment to customer care. The recent renovation of rooms makes it even more appealing. Plus the prime rib at the restaurant is the best on the island. Dan makes every guest feel welcome when they enter the dining room. Stay here. You will not be disappointed.

Another fantastic stay at the Island House. We usually stay on the third or fourth floor but we splurged and up graded to a bigger room. I have to say it was well worth it. Breakfast was fantastic as usual. The employees were great with it being opening weekend.

Loved our stay here, 3rd floor room offered great views of the harbor and streets below. Just wish we could have spent more time relaxing and enjoying the front porch and front lawn. Hope to return to the island soon, and stay here again. Clean rooms with a great
View, far enough from town to be quiet and relaxing but close enough to easily be near the grocery or a bar. Can t wait to return!!

My husband and I stayed on the 4th floor. I really wasn t expecting a whole lot from our room because it was comparatively cheap, but the room was actually very nice. The first thing I noticed was how clean the room was. I ve been to more expensive hotels that were far less clean. Our room layout was very nice too. There s enough room to move around without running into each other, and having a place to sit and chit chat by the window is awesome. There isn t a microwave, which is really the only bummer. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area is unbelievably nice too. The hot tub was clean. Location is also very convenient. I will say that the hallways and stairs are really in need of updating on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. Overall, definitely worth it to stay here.

The Island House is a great location for a family trip to Mackinac Island or a romantic destination for a couple. Being slightly out of the hustle and bustle of the middle of town is nice. The walk to the hotel is short and flat. The interior could use some updating, but this is to be expected for a historic lodging location.

It is a very clean beautiful hotel. We just arrived.
