We went last weekend and booked for two nights at $250/night. The photos looked nice online looked modest but fairly decent.
When we arrived what we got was another thing. The property was unkept and looked so unloved. The staff at front desk were friendly and let us in our room early. When we got to our room it smelled musty and damp. The washroom was semi clean and there was mould along the caulking in the shower. The ceiling fan in the room was covered and dust as well as the smoke alarm. The ac unit was dirty and hadn t been cleaned in ages. Our tv had terrible reception and the remote even stopped working. The propert offered free wifi which never worked while we were there. We went to the front desk and spoke to them about our concerns. They gave us a refund on the 2nd night we had booked and we checked out in the morning. They were very pleasant to deal with face to face, but the room was way below standard especially for $250 a night. I would definitely not recommend this resort to anyone.
Great location on the shores of West Lake. The rooms are a bit outdated but the location more than makes up for it. Great to have a restaurant on site. The pool in summer months is a great addition when the lake is cold.
Great place for a weekend get away. Lovely staff, great food
Location was amazing, rooms were wonderful, house keeping services not great, asked for them to come back a little later as we were gathering the family and lunch and were given a hard time,
Extremely average, EXPENSIVE, over rated, poor customer policy, bad customer service. Yikes
Had an upstairs room with just a bed. No night stand or clock. If I needed to plug in my phone, I would have to decide that or the noisy A.C..
Thank God I'm short or I would've killed myself on the low ceiling angles. Could use air freshener.
But it does have charm.
Clean and comfortable, the employees were very helpful. I was a guest at a family reunion and had two meals there, the food was great; fresh and plentiful, and the staff was very attentive.
Room wasnt too bad, Wi-Fi is good. City folk come down expecting fast internet down all in boon town lol. Dated to an extent, overpriced as hell for what you get. Doors that dont close all the way unless you yank it shut, some misc stuff could be touched upon such as sugar/creams for complimentary coffee in the room, actually cleaning the bottoms of the propane fireplaces with a vacuum. Had to turn off the pilot light due to gas leakage which had a small flame lit in the fireplace and by god Damn it had been never cleaned. Shower grouts need some scrubbing due to mold, smoke/cm detectors on the ceiling should be cleaned, some creepy pocket door that went up to some hidden attic room? ECT. Overpriced for sure
I photographed my first wedding at Isaiah Tubbs the summer of 2019. From the getting ready suites, to the ceremony views and the open reception hall, I loved this venue. The laid-back and natural atmosphere this venue delivers is amazing! Perfect for brides and grooms who want a cottage style wedding, beach ceremony and outdoor reception.
Everything was adequate. Our room was very big, but seemed very dated. The scary part is that the cottages looked even older. I think they are updating them, though, so be sure to ask.
Need more washrooms in 2 bedroom suites. One for upstairs. Bathtubs very slippery and dangerous. Beautiful grounds. Dinners poor quality for price.
Great place for an overnight. Their restaurant was good and reasonable.
Barely water in shower .
Small tiny standing shower
No wifi at all
Beach is horrible full
Of stones .
No where to eat but drive 20 min for eat
Pretty old rooms .
The rooms, I would even say the whole hotel is in a state of disrepair ... major renovations are needed !!! Price far too high for what there is. The only advantage, near the water. I will not be going back.
Location is great, beach house right on the water, rooms are older and not the cleanest...overall good for families.
Divider had Mold on it,
wifi in the hotel is awful,
nothing to do in off season,
some of the cabins had no heat in them.
Beds are completely uncomfortable especially the pull out couch, blinds to the outside hardly provide privacy,
their windows have drafts that come through them.
I could hear someone showering in the room next door,
my back was in pain from the sleep
and the decor is probably the same as when it was first built.
Although on the bright side they have really nice shower, good pressure, big tub, that was nice to have in the morning.
No heat in room. How do you have an establishment in Canada and dont have working heat. Rented a room for 4 no heat in leaving space and in room. If you want to freeze perfect place
Rooms seem very dated. Went to the restaurant on a very hot summer day and no air conditioning what so ever. I must say the food was great though. Just thinking maybe some money should be spent on some upgraded renos fir the price paid to stay there
Went to a wedding in the restaurant and stayed overnight in a double Queen bed in the Annex. The restaurant was nice. Good size, close to washrooms, and the food and service was good. The room was inexpensive so I wasn't expecting much but some of the furniture was stained and the paint in the shower was flaking, and some tiles were broken. The beds were clean and nice. Just needs a good renovation.
Very well situated, close to Sandbanks. Lovely venue for a wedding. Wedding package pricing is very transparent.
Perfect little gateway, great staff, great food and affordable.
Visited here many years ago as a kid and always had found memories of the place but it has gone downhill big time. Booked to stay for two nights and left after one. Stayed in beach house one, the location was beautiful but the room was dirty, had spiders in every corner and the sliding door didn t even lock, it. was being secured by a wooden dowel. When I went to the front desk to check out early I mentioned my concerns to the lady at the front desk and she did not even apologize nor care that we were leaving early because of the conditions of the room. She just proceeded to charge me for both nights and didn t bat an eye. The restaurant left lots to be desired, the food was overpriced for the quality they are serving. I would not recommend this place nor would I return.
Pretty pricey for the rooms. Also they set out expired yogurt for breakfast. They did apologize and remove them all when I mentioned it. Alright place overall though. Has an awesome pool.
Classic 3 star! We stayed on the second floor of the Inn (steep stairs). Even though we're close to the office, the WiFi is so weak that it's unusable. Beds are ok - one hard, one soft and a folding cot good for kids. Use of BBQ...bring your utensils. Pool is closed (not due to COVID - needs repair). Fridge, microwave and coffee maker all work. Beach and restaurant are good. Nice that it's close to Sandbanks and 15 mins from Picton.
Beautiful weekend in PEC celebrating a wedding. Great staff. Beautiful properties. Nice sandy beach for swimming! Definitely want to come back.
Great customer service, and beautiful location of the property, however Isaiah Inn where we stayed is outdated and not as we expected. When we arrived we noticed lots of mosquitoes and I would assume because of the pond that's located right in front of the entrance door of the rooms. Room is carpeted, and carpet looks old and stained in places. Room had micro wave, mini fridge and AC. Bed linen was clean and bed was comfortable but whole decor of the room looks like from 80's. Typical motel furniture, patterns of decor and feel in the room. Bathroom is small, functional and yes, outdated. Hairdryer is prehistoric, bit it works, chrome parts of the tub and sink are all water stained and look no so appealing, water in the shower fluctuate from warm to cold to warm. If you happened to have neighbors in the room next door, you may hear them while you're laying in your bed. Aside from dusty paved road, way towards the lake front is full of potholes. Beach is nice, lake was warm and it appeared clean. Sometimes wind would bring foul smells of rotten fish or something like that, but that would not be something Isaiah property has control over. During our stay, we had trouble locating garbage disposals; there were no garbage bins anywhere on the property and management have not provide any instructions on the map where we could dispose the garbage.
Staff of the property we approached was very nice and polite; they are hard working ladies and we give them credit for that.
Conclusion... We will not be coming back to this place because of the condition of the INN + mosquitoes. The place needs major renovation in and out. Star rating indicate how we felt staying at this property.
Feels like a private oasis on the lake. Incredible view and friendly staff
Beautiful setting on the water, amazing food, and friendly staff
The property is beautiful but the rooms are in desperate need of updating. The bed was comfortable and clean but the room was dingy.
Its a good place for the price, coffe break at restaurant could be better and cheaper. Beach area is good
Cleanliness ok but nothing more, it was just ok no wow and I don't think I will go back. I've seen worse but I've seen a lot better too!
Great location and a good place for families. However the whole place needs some major renovations and upgrades.
Its beautiful ! So clean and everyone is so friendly !
Clean comfy Rooms, Gave us a room upgrade when we checked in in Sunday. Had dinner at on site restaurant.
It needs work ,falling apart pool not open on July 1 long weekend.whatmore do want to know .very expensive for what get
We stayed here for a wedding. It was a great facility, rustic, comfortable. The facilities were great from a large open sided hall, to an adorable small round Ouse for cocktails to a wonderful bar, hall and dining room. We experienced them all. Rooms could use a refresh, but they were clean and the staff attentive. A bit expensive for what you get, but all in all a wonderful experience.
Room was dirty, dusty with stains all over. On top of that the staff were unhelpful and extremely rude. All they want is the money and they don t care about your experience.
So boring! If u have kids over the age of 12 dont bring them here! Barley working wifi and nothing to do for miles!
Stayed in one of the Lake Houses. Recently renovated, very nice on the inside. BBQ and firepit outside were great as well.
Nice peaceful place, good facilities and close to Sand Banks.
Went to a wedding here and it was great: a bit of a dirty dancing feel to the place, lots of space, accomodations were decent, pretty good beach, basic but tasty food, accommodating staff... All in all a good place for an event like this.
Room was not as expected and did not match their online photos. Our accommodations were very shabby and outdated - which would be fine if the price matched the level of comfort but it's extremely overpriced for what you actually get. Our room smelled bad and we saw a mouse run across our bedroom floor. Staff was friendly and helpful but I would not stay here again.
Wifi isn't working, pillow sheets were dirty, lots of work to be done on many buildings, seems like they are falling apart...
Well spotted place for days at the beach.
We had a nice lunch at the restaurant in this resort. Food was excellent, and the staff friendly. Lunch menus was really good
The wedding turned out better than we could even imagine. A special thank you to the staff for really putting in the extra effort to make the day amazing.
Nice resort. Didn't see a whole lot just the conference centre and it was nice
Stayed here with five other couples. Unfortunately we didn't use trip advisor and I suspect thats the only way this place will survive its last remaining months. Had we looked at the images posted and the recent reviews that's all one needs to know to look elsewhere. The entire place is in total disrepair, filthy and decorated with yard sale finds. Our room had nine framed faded pictures on the wall, a broken side table, a 70's Zeller lamp and a pull out couch I'm sure was purchased locally at a second hand store. The room had a musty odour from the mildew and rot that surrounds the units (see photos on trip advisor). Its apparent from the greater number of recent negative comments and managements constant defence towards the negative replies, that this "resort" ( I'm using that word loosely) is past the point of no return and they are gasping for what little business remains. Its my belief that the current absentee owners are only sucking out any financial gain remaining before putting this shitnaumi on the market. I'm sure the location and land alone is worth millions. If the breakfast we received on the final morning of our two night stay is any indication of the other meals available I'll add that you should drive into Picton and not spend anymore of your hard earned money here. The food matches the condition of the resort. We ordered a standard breakfast....and received deep fried potato squares, eggs that were over cooked because of a grill that is too hot(edges of eggs were crispy) , deep fried sausage and limp cold toast(see image on trip advisor) . If they can't get a simple breakfast right I wouldn't trust them to prepare your dinner. In closing look at the pictures, the cost of staying and do yourself a favour and turn around in the parking lot and get out of there so you don't make the same mistake the last 96% of the recent commentators have made.
Location is easy to find, cottages/room are very different and amazing!
We were kindly given an upgraded room at no additional charge as the resort wasn't busy. All the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and were more than happy to help with any request or question. The food at the resort restaurant was great. Service was a little slow but food came out hot, fresh and delicious. Two thumbs up for the French onion soup and the gluten free cheesecake!!
All of the staff were very nice but rooms were extremely outdated and ours had not been cleaned before getting there. I would actually still give it a four since I'm fine with rooms a bit outdated or rustic but the price was very high for what amounted to a dirty motel room.
They were starting to renovate the week after I stayed so hopefully this will justify the price in the future, I don't think I will be back to find out though.
Super beautiful surroundings right on the lake. In ten minutes you can reach the town where you can buy everything you need. Check in was impeccable. The rooms are clean. A minus point for the aging device. Restaurant, pool, playground is on site. We only booked one room, but got more.
Was for a wedding. Food was good and the staff was well organized. The room was a bit tired but ok
Excellent service. Great food. Nice craft beers. Get a Tubbs Club card before you eat to get 20% off!
Room damaged and not clean, worst place ever. Dirtiest bath room. Bad smell of mole. Rude and capricious staff. I will never go there again, this place should be close for ever.
Restaurant food was expensive and not more than ok + service was crap.
Sandbank was great but this place was unhealthy.
Clean room, too small, the sink is outside the Tiny bathroom. Almost no water presure amd barely hot. Noisy, but we were near the pool. A light pass trough the filmsy blind, it was not dark on the room. Rocky beach, and you need to take the car to get the onsite restaurant if you got Young children.
If you want to plan a wedding at this venue, YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!!!!!
UPDATE: Parts of Australia are back into lockdown. Yeah... "look how well Australia is doing". Seriously....
The complex is top there is a tennis court, a pool, basketball court, a beach restaurant to rent nautical equipment, the rooms are good but have not been renovated for a long time just as the rest would deserve some investment. .. But for a few days it's perfect and very good. Located right next to the park
Rooms need serious overhaul, no a/c, bathroom sink in main room as the bathroom only had room for tiolet and shower. microwave in room was probably the first ever built grounds are nice, beach and view of the lake are amazing. Food in retaurant was ok, not bad, not great.
Very nice location by the lake with clean rooms and pleasant staff.
Horrible. Extremely dirty. Old and needs a lot of maintenance. Such a disappointment. Don't ever think about coming here. If had a chance to take my money back I would run away!
A good place for families to spend the long weekends and relax. Sandbanks provincial park is about 10 minutes drive for those who wants to enjoy the lake and have picnics.
I gotta tell ya the server was amazing at the restaurant. The food was out of this world and bang for your buck outstanding. Our room is fantastic great price. Lady at the check in desk was super polite . I've been in the restaurant business for 30 years and I was overwhelmed how welcoming every staff member was in this 45 degree heat. My wife and I are going to recommend this place to everyone. Cheers
Super nice even if it is not the best season to go. To do also in summer
Beautiful spot right on water. Needs renovations but clean.
Been coming here for years. Loved it. New policies have soured me. To pre pay in September for next June is not right.
Love the beach. Restaurant is OK. The accommodations are very dated. We had a mouse in our room. No one seemed very concerned.
A bit dated, but the staff are great and the location very charming.
Didn t like it at all . Extremely overpriced . Cleaning service horrible . Lots of bugs in rooms. Prepare that they gone also be in in your bed when you sleep . Stuff is very moody and rude . I would not recommend this place . Very disappointed.
I recently stayed at the Isaiah Tubbs resort overnight for a wedding and didn't have very high expectations to begin with; but I left feeling disappointed. That being said, nothing was terrible. The service was mediocre at best and both my girlfriend and I felt some of the staff were dismissive and unhappy. We asked for champagne glasses at the check in counter and ended up having to call 2 more times within the next hour before using dixie cups for the champagne. It wasn't the worst experience of my life, but it definitely wasn't the best. It's a pretty resort, but the experience is not worth the price.
We were visiting as a possible wedding venue. Grounds are beautiful. Our tour guide could have done more to connect with us and ask about what we were looking for.
