The hotel is in a very good location. Small room but well-maintained and exceptional service. You can go to boutiques, department stores, and the Louvre museum by walk. The food was really rich and delicious. Would highly recommend it!

Great location only begins it. Near a wide range of stores (see the view from the top of two of the stores to see the Paris skyline) including the food hall of galeries lafayette...a good resource for quick items during your stay.

The staff was very helpful and the room was quiet, large and comfortable. An impressive building and if you are lucky enough to get on the Opera side of the building, a beautiful view awaits at any hour of the day.

We enjoyed eating at the restaurant and had two different good meals.

Recommended...and a wonderful memory.

Prestige is in the spotlight, the place is splendid in Napoleon III empire style.

1 star less because really not accessible to all gates, same level food and drink, but it is still very nice to have a drink or work under the beautiful glass roof inside the hotel.

5 stars, but 6 if you could! A palace which is above all a historic building, which has seen the Empress Eugenie pass .... classified ballrooms, a restaurant, magnificent tea room. All the decor has been redone recently. The service is at the top. The hot chocolate is delicious, served in a pitcher. In short, we come back with pleasure for a coffee or a chocolate.

Supremely disappointed and very unimpressed. Do you want to spend 500 euros and room in an old-style shoebox with no views? And then get a 24 euro surcharge for internet + 40 euro parking?

A lot of the positive reviews are people rationalizing their stays here and pretending that it was worth it to stay here. Look at all the reviews that call it a tiny box. And say that they had a lovely view of the HVAC system. But then they give it four stars. Kinda generous, don't you think?

We booked the day of and drove into the city (it took about 2 hours to just get into the city). I got out of the car to find valet and figure out how to park it. The guy asked me 3 times if I was staying at the hotel. I had just roadtripped across Europe and was wearing comfy pants. Sue me, I didn't look put together.

It took about 15 minutes to even be spoken to about check-in and then 15 minutes thereafter to complete check-in. There was a group in front of me and the other receptionist was on the phone for a long time. My husband, meanwhile, was crouching down (stomach virus) and trying hard to not throw up. (He eventually left to the lobby bathroom to intimately get to know one of the toilets within it). Our room was not ready when we checked in at 8 pm (how???) and would not be ready for another hour. The receptionist proceeded to go through room by room, looking for one that she could put us in. Normally I would think this takes all of one minute, given that she had a computer and presumably some sort of system on it. For some reason, this took 15. I suggested a king and she suggested a queen bed.

Ah well. During the 30 minutes I got to watch the fancy Parisians and Arabs going to the opera in couture dresses and gowns. Holy smokes I've never in my life ever witnessed so many fancy things within the span of half an hour. That was nice. And they got to behold me, a disheveled girl in comfy pants. I'd like to think that I broadened someone's horizons that day.

Some hidden sides of the Grand Hotel Intercontine...

Some hidden sides of the Grand Hotel Intercontinental Paris: Until the year 1 905, the Court of Honour was accessible to the brand new automobiles that had begun to circulate, via the entrance overlooking the boulevard des Capucines. The problem with these new machines was that they were smelly and very noisy. It was therefore decided to create a new entrance, suitable for motor vehicles, on the rue Scribe. This involved the demolition of several rooms, among them the Correspondence room, and important alterations to the Court of Honour; which would henceforth be closed to all vehicles. More than 1 80 architects entered the competition and Henri Nenot, designer of the new Sorbonne, was chosen
for the project. He totally transformed the Court of Honour into an elegant Winter Garden "a la Proust".This he roofed with an immense
membrane of coloured glass, whose motifs were refiected in the mosaic on the floor below. It rapidly became the in place for Parisians: the ritual five o'clock tea in the Grand hotel Winter Garden
