The place smells, cleaning is just awful, the place is dirty.
Hotel is undergoing renovations. My first room on the first floor was not great, but I requested a change and got a different room on the 3rd, which was comfortable and in much better shape! I'm sure the original room just hasn't been renovated yet. The staff was very helpful.
I used it as an economical place to stay for a business trip to Memphis. I was told the neighborhood was sketchy but I never had any issues or problems.
Breakfast was decent, coffee really good. I thought the staff was friendly and attentive-always had a friendly "Hello!" when you come through the door.
My room was fine. Linens were clean, bathroom stocked. The water pressure and temperature in the shower was great!
The entire staff was exceptionally nice and accommodating. Would have rated the stay five stars if there was not a dirty sock left in the room and a small amount of trash. The breakfast was outstanding and the overall upkeep of the hotel was very good as well. Can not say enough about the friendly and helpful staff. We came in black with at least eight employers and they are all outstanding.
Cons-Room is dingy pubic hair in spare blanket checking out in am sheets dusty white and floor not freshly vacumed.
Pros -No bed bugs as of yet
Stayed at the hotel end of April 2015 for 5 nights. The rooms are a little dated and the a/c was a bit noisy. Unfortunately the pool and hot tub were not open yet so can not rate them. The hotel itself would be around a 3.5. However the staff at this hotel would be a five plus. They made me feel at home; were always laughing, helpful and cheerful. They seemed to love their work. Between them making me feel good in the morning and a decent breakfast - the days seemed to go well. The breakfast was always hot and fresh - above average compared to some other places I've stayed. Bonus was the fact that coffee and tea were always available in the lobby.
Hotel under renovations. Hopefully better shape when finished. Friendly staff. Approached several times by folks looking for money in the parking lot.
Comfortable room but maintenance and cleanliness definitely need improvement. Other hotel guests yelling in the hall all night, slamming doors and rude house keeping staff. Gentleman at front desk was very cordial.
Friendly staff, decent rooms and good location near the highway.
This hotel is under renovation, but until that is finished, it is a mess, rooms are hot, and furniture is mismatched and not enough outlets for phone chargers and stuff.
They allow me to buy all my drugs there without giving me a hard time
Has a peculiar smell and a dirty entrance, the breakfast area is very small
The hotel itself is 3/5 but the staff is 5/5. The front desk attendant Tisha was very sweet and accommodating and all of the housekeepers were very nice too.
It's a no frills place to spend the night. Room was clean and updated. Staff was kind and attentive. No real complaints. Would stay again.
Used Marriott app to book. I was looking for two queen beds and found this hotel to have room with two beds. When checked in I found one king bed in room. When asked to change I was told they upgraded us to king size bed room with sofa bed. They sold my room. Sofa bed was terrible with springs popping out. Couldn t sleep.
Room was old and hastily renovated with substandard work. Lights in parking lot are brighter than ballpark stadium.
Beware!
Very nice clean rooms. Service was great. My stay was very relaxing.
This is a very cozy place for the price! But it did come with some drawbacks. The rooms get SUPER COLD with the air running, and it seemed to be no way to turn it off. You could only adjust the temperature which was still cold. The day beds are not comfortable - you could feel the mattress springs because it's so thin, but I guess that's expected. The main bed is nice and cozy though. The TVs have great channels but you're not able to hook anything up. I didn't ask but it seemed like they tampered with the remotes so that we couldn't go to the settings, or try to go to the HDMI channel. The showers and bathroom are AMAZING. The towels and sheets were nice and clean and soft. There is a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker which was great. The breakfast is actually very good, 9/10 only because it's so early. They have a free computer and printer available for quick use. WiFi, I would say is 8/10. Also if you call for some questions to be answered or items requested they may tell you to come downstairs. I don't think they have people to come bring you want you want. I would recommend this for a cheap, temporary stay, but not for an entire week unless you don't mind the kinks.
Do not stay here! I was here for about a month on business. Two weeks in my things were stolen by housekeeping. Although the front desk staff was nice the front desk manager never reached out to me after the incident occurred to follow up with me. I checked in every other day with the front desk help to see if the situation was being handled. Clearly it was not. I feel very neglected and i will have to let my area sales manager know that this happend and i recommend no one else in the trainee program stay here. I was very cool about it but nothing was done about the situation so if you carry valuables with you on your trips don't stay here they WILL come up missing!
Very friendly staff and comfortable beds. Pretty basic hotel but good enough to stop for the night on a long road trip.
It could use some upgrades such as smoking, maybe a restaurant, or hot tub, maybe a Jacuzzi
They're doing some construction on this property, so it has a dusty feel. However, it was a pleasant stay. Nothing special and nothing really bad.
Poor customer service. Didn't bother getting my opinion on a fix to the problems with my stay. Awful property to have the Marriott name on it.
The staff was wonderful but the rooms were not that great. The place is really in need of updating and refreshing.
We stayed the night here on a trip across country, the staff was wonderful and the hotel was freshly remodeled. The first room we were given smelled strongly of smoke (not the staff's problem - selfish guest caused that problem). They happily changed rooms for us and got us set up nicely. Thank you Marriott!
The stay was great. Check out Lenny's steak philly cheese
I've stayed at several properties in the past and I can say this was the worst one. Rooms need to be updated. Our room had hair in the microwave, roaches crawling up the wall, and the tub looked so bad I chose to bathe once I got home. (Room 118) I will never stay at this property again.
The room was nice. But during the day when I was taking a nap in my room, the fire alarm kept going off. I went outside thinking that it was an emergency, but it was from construction. All the front desk clerk had to do was push a button to stop the alarm but she was not going out of her way to turn the alarms off even after I complained. Her response was "well there is construction going on" as if I didnt already know that. Her way of rectifying the situation was by telling me that I could stay at another marriott hotel but I would have to pay.. another obvious statement. With her rudeness and the unorganized construction, we left a day early. And I will not be returning to that particular hotel
Because I transport there 24/7 going to Beal St or the airport
The beds were comfortable, pillows were perfect for a good night's rest. The facility is decent and in well kept condition. The location is convenient and easy to find. The breakfast was delicious. The best part of our stay was the staff. All of the people working that we had any interactions with were absolutely fantastic. We will definitely return to this specific location mainly for the friendly smiling and accommodating staff.
The rooms were clean and they served breakfast. They have a pool, there are plenty of stores to shop, and places to eat. As well as right off the express way
Super friendly staff, very helpful and kind. Looks like recent renovations were rushed.
Overall it was a good stay, breakfast was decent ever day, variety of stuff to choose from.
The staff was excellent, and the rooms where clean. The breakfast was good. The only real downside was the beds. They were horrible by far the worst Marriot beds I have ever slept in.
Shower turned off on me 2 minutes after getting in, sometime between 10:30 and 11 am. I called down to ask about it and they said the water was shut off for the day and that they gave notice, but they DID NOT give me a notice. Room was fine, but bad experience overall.
Nice people, however the lighting was really dark on the floors and hot. The overall feel of the hotel was a little sketchy. We got a refund and switched to a courtyard for the week. I heard they JUST got new management, so I'm sure it'll get better. Shame.
Appears to have been recently remodeled. All the power outlets by the bed were covered over and paneling from the bed frame had to be removed to access them. The door(s) would not fully close on their own.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and free. Loved the room. Only complaint is the tv is a bit small.
Raven clarissa mika were very professional and helpful the morning staff were excellent and I truly enjoy my time and stay with yal don't let me forget the cleaning staff were on point or and the breakfast staff did there thing I gain a good 10 pounds with yal thanks again
I'm being generous and giving 2 stars only because of the friendly staff and the general hotel amenities but the hotel was a mess! I am a Marriott Titanium rewards member so I have stayed at many Marriott properties across most of their brands. I was disappointed to say the least, the rooms were dirty and there was hair all over the bathroom. I was moved to another room which seemed to be better but upon closer examination in the morning when I went to shower, the 2nd room was just as bad and had what I could only describe as snot on the walls and hair in the shower. I packed up and was going to check out but the front desk staff assured me they would move me to a different room. Since they did not have anything clean I took my things and went back after work. I was given an upgrade (thank you front desk) but it was subpar, the couch looked saggy & dirty, the ceiling had water damage and the room smelled musty. I was moved to another room & it appeared to be clean and smelled nice but again when morning came and it was fully light I could see the wall mirror was dirty and the floors hadn't been vacuumed very well and still found hair on the shower walls. So disappointed in Marriott for this one.
Staff was very friendly, breakfast was good. Overall a good stay.
Bad place to go i wouldn't recommend this to anybody the toilet was stopped up. And the breakfast was not that good
Had a short stay so i didn't get to experience much but the rooms are large and quiet. They have microwaves and refrigerators which is always a plus as well as windows that actually open which is a rare treat at hotels. Short 10 minute ride from the airport, just off the freeway with a few food choices nearby including ihop and popeyes. I saw there is a mall nearby within walking but no idea what it is like unfortunately. The hotel also has a free breakfast.
Overall it was nice. The bed was comfy and coffee was good. I gave it three stars because I was woken up very early because you can hear the traffic on the highway
Staff very curtious helpful. Clean . Breakfast was awesome as we had to be the university for pro Canadian football tryout for my son Tyler Hadynski wide receiver KCU graduate.
This was by far our worst experience with a marriott owed hotel. On top of the show rod there was a used washcloth and there is mold on the wall. At the front desk, the girl has been on the phone arguing with her boyfriend while we were eating breakfast. (She is literally still on the phone) I will not stay here again and I suggest you don't either
Hotel looks remodeled from the outside but once you step past the lobby this hotel is extremely run down. This is by far the dingiest, dilapidated hotel I've stayed in so far, which is saying a lot. The only saving grace is it's front desk staff who were very pleasant to deal with.
Customer service was great in my room was very clean.
Clean rooms with a great staff. One of their main perks is that they serve a hot breakfast. The rooms could use stop tops or hot plates for the swift student drivers that stay there for weeks or months at a time, full size refrigerators would be beneficial as well.
The people make this place.
So I travel for work around 44 weeks a year. I m no stranger to hotels and rental cars around the globe, and I have to say, this hotel has hands down the nicest, most willing to accommodate you staff I ve seen outside of a fancy all inclusive spa/resort.
The rooms themselves are pretty standard; with up to date furnishings and large TVs. Beds are nothing to write home about.
But when every staff member greets you warmly and genuinely and you overhear them being nice to other guests it just brightens up your day. I m impressed!
Clean room, decent place, especially for the price.
I have stayed in many Fairfield Marriott hotels however this particular one is by far the worst. We had bedbugs in our room, kids were running and screaming in the hallway at night, bad odor . The hotel is in bad neighborhood and in bad quality.
I ve stayed at plenty of hotels and this was for sure the most disgusting one. Stains on sheets, room smelled horrible, microwave and fridge were dirty. Faucet on sink came right off, knobs on ac came off. Seems like housekeeping is not a known thing at this hotel. The only one amazing thing about this place was the man at the front desk, Jacques. He made the stay less horrible and was the most polite human being I have ever met. He deserves to work at a 5 star hotel and not this dump.
For our needs, this place was perfect. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, smelled nice, and the bed slept great! We actually had a hard time leaving! Thank you
The hotel itself was clean and the room was comfortable so if you just want a basic hotel it will fit the bill well. The staff was very friendly and helpful though. My problems with the hotel we're: 1 the room felt a little damp, not sure what caused it but they did have a dehumidifier in the room which tells me they have gotten this complaint before. 2. The fitness center was severely lacking. It only had one treadmill and a bike in poor repair but it worked. Also the fitness center did not have A/C so be ready to sweat. Ask the front desk to put a fan in the room, it did help.
If I could give this zero stars I would!!
Well... My husband and I travel at least 2x per month for work. So we are in a lot of hotel rooms!
Needless to state, I do NOT recommend staying here unless your goal is to be lukewarm, uncomfortable and basically not happy with anything at your hotel.
To list some issues:
1) AC in room did not work but they seemed to think as long as the temp was within 10 degrees of your goal, all was good.
2) max allowance per room with 2 beds was 2 towels. Period.
3) laundry room ,aka 1 washer & dryer, thermostat was also broken and blazing hot in there.
4) elevator sounded like cable was gonna snap any second.
5) huge water stains on ceiling, but hey each room comes equipped with a free standing dehumidifier (water issues much?)
6) Toiletries are roughly 10-year old travel Paul Mitchell product (tip...the packaging dates it...)
7) the icing that made me write this review--- we had NO HOT WATER this morning. At all. When I called down, the lady said no, we aren't out of hot water. I replied oh ok, well can you send someone up to room #2** and her reply is no, but we did sell out... I'm like OF HOT WATER... She replies no rooms. Hmmmm. Umkay... Literally the one thing that the hotel could offer that was great and as expected was hot water. Epic fail!
8) hottest days of the year and pool is not open. I mean not even water in it. Take it off the website people. You don't have a pool. You have an empty hole with a tarp on top of it.
9) the hole in the pavement as you exit the property is so big you could lose a child in it.
Things that weren't bad:
Linens and blankets were good quality.
Good lighting.
Hot water on day 1
Free breakfast, my 15 year old said it was ok.
The front desk workers were nice but ineffectual.
I would recommend anywhere else.
PS: Marriot people, don't respond. I see where you've responds to other reviews to these same issues and nothing's changed. So. Don't bother.
The 1st two night was wonderful the breakfast and the service was great. The room and bed was nice. We checked out and had to stay another night toilet stop working and the refrigerator made noise, other an that thing was ok!!
It was very clean and the staff was friendly and the breakfaat was pretty good
The staff at this hotel were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Tricey hosted the breakfast buffet and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and were ready to start out day. Thank you for the wonderful service!
Clean and welcoming. Beds are comfy. Excellent service and breakfast..
Great place to stop over nite if your visiting the Memphis area . They are planning to enlarge the morning breakfast eating area on the near area. Don't forget to check out the iced fresh lime water in the front lobby area, it's great.
Nice hotel overall. But not up to date on the electronics. 1Mbps download speed (not high speed by any stretch) and TV doesn't allow variable inputs (can't hook up the Xbox), these things are important to some. Other than that, a nice hotel.
Great service and very friendly atmosphere! I felt very WELCOME!
Very friendly and helpful staff. The room I stayed was homey. The sheets smelled fresh and comfy.
Okay, this is a fairly nice Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott. Full disclosure, it's an older hotel that's been remodeled; so, it's nice in that regard but it's still an old hotel. The staff is very nice and accommodating; and, if you need a hotel in this area, I can recommend it.
Great friendly staff!!! Was in town and stayed 3 nights! Great location! The beds were extremely comfortable! The rooms were very nice! Breakfast was delicious all 3 mornings. I loved how bright the parking lot was! The staff was very helpful and everyone I passed (hk,front desk or the man doing breakfast,)everyone was very friendly and nice. A very beautiful hotel! I would recomend this hotel to everyone that goes to Memphis!
Staff was very nice. Restaurants and stores nearby. I would stay again
It was a nice hotel for the price we paid. The rooms were new and clean. Free breakfast in the morning and a friendly staff.
Hotel room was clean and the staff is very nice and accommodating.
Folks at the desk are great, vacuuming the halls at seven thirty am, not so much. Knocking on the door at nine am to clean the rooms, probably could have lived without that too. But it's a clean hotel, convenient with friendly staff. Oh and the pool is closed too.
Nice hotel, could use some updates. Very nice staff.
Great location and great staff. The hotel is somewhat old
