In October, my daughter had good intentions of treating me to a stress-free, relaxing beginner's yoga session. She brought me to Inner Essence Yoga for the Beginner Yoga class. The instructor, Isaak informed the class he was filling in for another instructor. My daughter paid for our class, we signed the waiver making certain I listed my health restrictions and stressing the fact it was my 1st time. Isaak acknowledged. From the beginning, I found the poses to be strenuous & at a quick pace. I began to feel very hot & dizzy. I stopped & rested. Isaak came over; I told him I was hot & dizzy. He agreed it was warm in the room. He offered me a cup of water (although I had my own) & I rested for 5-8 minutes. He then approached me with ropes to continue on to other poses. I tried, however, I became very light-headed & with the extreme heat in the room I began to feel nausea. I ran to the bathroom & vomited. My daughter came back to help me. She took me to the front to rest before we left. When the class was over, several of the students were also complaining of how hot it was & commented they did not realize this class was the "hot yoga" class! Since then, my daughter has contacted the owner, Suzie Lopez & has had a difficult time settling any type of satisfaction. In fact, when Ms. Lopez finally responded, she denied any accountability for customer service. When pressed for a request of a refund for the two classes ($27), Ms. Lopez insulted my daughter by letting her know a refund of only $3 would be sent to her due to "overcharging" on one of the classes. She further let my daughter know the studio is closing permanently May 19th. IMHO, if this person ever opens up another studio...we will not be going or referring our friends due to lack of customer service and the of lack an honest sense of business practice.
