Food is pretty bland considering Indonesian is sup...
Food is pretty bland considering Indonesian is supposed to be flavorful.
Food is pretty bland considering Indonesian is supposed to be flavorful.
indonesian food and the scene here is great. Definitely one of the best places in the area. Service is consistently above par. Bring your appetite because portions are large. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I liked.
Fine location for quality Indonesian food. It was so appetizing. This place has a cool feel to it.
Really delicious food. I always go for the roti and calamari appetizers, and pretty much any entree on the menu is good. Gets quite busy as does any other restaurant in this area so, go early or call ahead.
Authentic Indonesian food. Nice ambiance, friendly staff. Decent selection of wine and beer. Worth a visit if you like Indonesian food.
I is picking up food for customer there I don't know what it would be like to eat there don't really care for that type of food
Entrees and Appetizers were great in general. Husband ordered a steak medium-rare, but I think they heard it as medium-well. Drinks and dessert were just okay. I think their food was way better before.
They have a really good lunch menu specials. The chicken satay and roti are a good started dish. Interior is well designed 5/5. The outdoor section is really nice and spacious, but a bit outdated (4/5). The service is impeccable and the manager is really out there doing his job (5/5). Good happy hour specials 5 - 8pm.
Cool little Hangout great stuff cocktail are good food is good atmosphere is great
This place has a great happy hour. Well made cocktails and delicious bar food makes it my go to choice with anyone looking to unwind after work. I highly recommend the Gin Fizz, Roti, and Calamari.
An Indonesian restaurant close to me? yayyy :)
I'm indonesian so I grew up eating indo food and it's rather difficult finding a restaurant that is close to me until I read about this place. None of the food is really authentic and I know better than to think something called Indo restaurant and lounge would actually make legit authentic indo food, BUT they do offer something very similar and it still tastes great.
The place is really big! don't be fooled when you drive by it on el camino, because it's actually really long. They have nice outdoor seating that can accommodate large parties and they have a nice bar too. The place is casual to fancy-ish. It's definitely better than your normal restaurant. check out the website and you'll get a feel of how it is.
I came here for lunch on a Thursday with my coworkers and it wasn't particularly busy. We had a large party of about 8 people and we were seated outside. The waiter was super nice and he was really attentive :) He joked around with us and made sure we got everything we needed! so service was great and now onto the food.
INDO SAMPLER: chicken satays, samosa, poh pia, tartare. The chicken satays were delicious, it had a nice grilled char taste to it and their peanut sauce was super yummy. The samosa was okay, it was really dense it potatoes but I thought the flavoring of the samosa was decent. Poh pia is like a vietnamese spring roll, except that it's filled with tofu instead of shrimp and there wasn't mint. It was okay nothing really that special about it. The tartare was okay, it was kind of weird because the tartare was sitting on one of those shrimp cracker so combined it was a really weird mixture in my mouth. not really that fond of it.
MIE GORENG: MY FAVORITE. I love fried noodles so this dish was it for me. It was really flavorful, sweet, and spicy. The egg noodles absorbed all the flavor and so every bite was delicious.
CHILEAN SEA BASS: The fish was cooked perfectly. Very tasty, it was pan seared to perfection. The portion is really small, it is intended for like one person maybe two if you felt like sharing. The dish had some vegetables that came along with it and it was on the bottom, it served as a bed of the sea bass to sit on, it was a tad bit salty but flavor wise was good.
BIHUN GORENG: this is like fried noodles but with vermicelli instead. The thing is with vermicelli it doesn't absorb as much flavor so I thought it was bland. But the crab meat was a nice touch.
LAKSA NOODLES: This was super yummy too! It's a noodle soup and the soup is coconut based so it was heavy. But it was packed with a lot of flavor and they had some really nice jumbo prawns in it. This is on their special lunch menu, so it's meant for one person but you can easily share this dish.
SEAFOOD GREEN CURRY: I really really liked this curry. It was spicy! It had a lot of flavor and it tasted soo good with the rice.
We also got Jasmine rice, coconut rice, and brown rice to go along with our food. You can pick out what rice you like but I think everyone really loved the COCONUT RICE because it had extra flavor.
The food was great, the service was wonderful, the atmosphere was nice so I would go back here again. It is definitely BETTER THAN STRAITS.
Nice atmosphere and energy. Good food, GREAT service
Hidden gem. I have no idea why this place isn t perpetually packed with an obnoxious wait like other places but I m so glad it s not. Pretty patio that someone obviously cares for. I ve gone here alone, with a few friends, and even hosted 20 people for my birthday last year. They were so accommodating and delicious unfussy food.
Great food, lots of flavor. I highly recommend the ribs
Try the indo house drink, the one with ginger in it!
Very good food and a great selection of wines. They have tables outside too. Nice, intimate atmosphere.
Indonesian food at this spot - delicious. nice place to meet and catch up with family. the service here is great. this place has a good atmosphere. i can see why they have so many reviews.
Great food. Awesome staff and service. My experiences are always for lunch.
As someone that grew up in Indonesia, I wouldn't consider this authentic Indonesian food at all. This is bougie white washed Palo Alto asian fusion with a hint of Indonesian influence.
Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious and located in Palo Alto comes with $$$ price tag. I've tried almost everything on the menu and I can say my favs split into 2 categories:
-Real indonesian dishes name: satay ayam, mie goreng, Gado gado
-The non Indonesian dishes: the sea bass, short rib (altho this reminds me a lot of rendang), the desserts!!!!
Overall I enjoyed coming here, I love the classy vibe and dark ambiance. They also have an outdoor patio that is pretty at night.
One of my preferred places for quality indonesian food. This place will surprise you. I've had nothing but great experiences here and will keep coming back. This place has a nice atmosphere. If it wasn't far from my work I would come by more.
A fav location for quality indonesian food. Makes me feel like I am back in Sacramento.
The service was great they accommodated my special requests beautifully wonderful salmon. Food was cooked really well.
Decent Indonesian fusion food. Was expecting alot from this restaurant because a couple of friends really rated it high, but the red thai curry could have been better.
The green curry was really good. The mango flavored dessert was extremely good too.
Great drinks! and food.... But seriously good cocktails! Will be back for sure!
Stellar quality, but fairly small portions. The garlic noodles especially were spectacular.
Good place to live with the family come and you will not regret this delicious food and a very clean place 100%
Nice atmosphere and outside patio. Great staff. Food was so so.
I am allergic to eggplant. They do not list all their ingredients. Had to leave due to an allergic reaction mid-meal. Epipen the whole shabang. I was basically poisoned.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great cocktails! We had a few small plates and everything was fantastic!
Food was tasty as always however..one hour of wait and food was cold. That means food was ready but waiter forgot to deliver. That's why lower rating.
Very good Asian food with tasty cocktails. It's big enough to accommodate reasonably large groups.
Food was ok, noice level was very high. The patio is your best bet on lower noice. Wait staff needs training big time.
Good drinks, great food, nice staff. Gets pretty loud when it's full but it's always good to practice speaking louder.
Very nice staff and great food. Good bar as well. Great for groups. Good scotch selection too
Most of the dishes were mediocre at best and overpriced (typical Palo Alto ) also, the dining room is SO COLD. The dishes were barely lukewarm by the time they go to our table. They didn t survive the cold walk from the kitchen to our table
Roti canai was tasty. Char Kwai teow lacked the wok hei flavor (smoky flavor of the wok). Lemon grass chicken (bumbu rajak) was so one dimensional in flavor we barely touched it.
If you do go, double check your bill before paying. They charged us for an additional dish that we didn t order (we asked them to correct it)
Great ambience and food for the price paid.
They have a indoor bar and dining.
The dim lighting, candles and Buddha decor gives the Indonesian feel.
The service was very quick.
For starter we had a vegetarian roti prata. The roti was crisp and soft with loaded flavours served with a side of green coconut sauce.
For main course we had vegetarian nasi goreng, green beans sambal and a bowl of coconut rice.
I just loved the green beans sambal. The crunch of the beans .. I can still feel it in my mouth.
We had rose peppermint tea.. which was soothing.
Dinner ended with ginger cake with ice cream..highly recommended.
They have an exclusive parking section.
I went with friends(over 4) here. There is hardly any joint in Bay Area which caters to this kind of fusion cuisine.
We had passionfruit soda,ginger soda,americn mule,passionfruit caipirinha,poh pia,rpti prada,tofu gorend,bihun goreng with tof and veggies,sayur lodeh,wok eggplant,sambal tofu,
For desserts - we had kue nagasari and chocolate cake which were awesome.
Service by Michael was great.
I had the garlic noodles with chicken. It was delicious. Good portion size. I sat at the bar and the service was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant in general is dark, and reading menus can be difficult because the light is inadequate....but this is one of my favorite places to eat when i travel to Palo Alto.
Very nice and clean restaurant. I ordered duck meal and it was great! Prices are fair too.
Good service, not busy a lot of the time, great atmosphere. Explore the menu as I have.
Love the vibe here. Little pricey but very romantic lighting and prefect for date night. Good wine selection. Got the garlic noodles. And my partner got the pad Thai. Both very yummy!
The ambience was nice, the food was decent but not great.
Boasting of a very audacious asian fusion cuisine, this restaurant does not disappoint. The names of the dishes are funny, most are word plays on traditional Indian, Thai and Chinese food. But they taste good and are refreshing from the normal cuisine I am used to. So expect a laccha parantha, but served with an odd yellow sauce ( of course they call it roti prata). The okra entree is delicious, so is the fried tofu as a starter! I am a vegetarian, but judging from my friends reactions, the meat is good too.
Made a trip out here for my birthday. I figured I should bring some of my friends to try Indonesian food since there are none around where I live.
This restaurant is very different from other indo-places - it have a much more refined atmosphere and menu offering, while maintaining the delicious flavors we all miss from home. The Satay, Balado, and Mie Goreng were all on point. The other not-so-indonesian-menu, like the pan seared Seabass, etc, are equally delicious.
The only thing I wish they have is more Indonesian desserts. Like Es campur, es teler, etc. And OH - Penyetan would be epic.
I have always loved the food and service at Indo but my experience tonight made me rethink. Appetizers were not brought to the table even though we preordered. Also the waitress chased after me to question the tip. If the size of the tip was mandatory they should have added it to the total. This has never happened to me. Don t think I will return here in the future.
Indo is a hip and trendy restaurant. The service was very nice, although a bit hyper-efficient clean up. The patio outside is awesome. The hostess was really nice to make sure we were near a heat lamp so the seniors in my group wouldn't get cold (and they probably don't have a ton of seniors visiting).
Great food. The Mie Goreng and the Lamb Curry were great. I recommend ordering more rice because the sauces for the dishes tend to be on the heavy side, but would be excellent over rice (ex. papaya curried beef)
If you check-in on Yelp, you get free chicken satay (4pcs, real order is 6pcs).
Overall, nice and trendy place for fusion asian food and hangout with friends.
Nice place for Nasi Goreng, my favourite Indonesian dish. Staff were friendly, good for those who are travelling alone and want to sit at a bar for good food.
WOW is all I have to say! I work for Stanford and hosted a work event here and it was everything and we needed and more. Kristina was amazing, the food was so delicious and had options for everyone! Our server Gage was also on top of everything! I will definitely be returning here for a work event or even just dinner!
Very elegant Indonesian food, great atmosphere, good drinks, friendly staff. Not inexpensive, but worth it.
indonesian food and the feeling here is better than most. Food was so appetizing. Nothing but pleasant experiences here. It has an awesome feel to it.
The environment and atmosphere was good. Everything else is about average.
Nice place but will get over crowded especially when lunch time
So classy. Beautifully set up. Loved the roti prata and hit gold with the mi goreng!! Wait staff is very thoughtful too.
Delicious indo-asian food and creative list of drinks. Used to be a Singaporean fusian restaurant; the menu doesn't seem to have changed much. Still a wide variety of dishes, and the roti prata is still rich and memorable.
Excellent food, delicious cocktails, and nice atmosphere.
This restaurant was amazing! The outdoor patio is very nicely decorated, service was great and friendly. Food was absolutely amazing and unique options- very shareable. Very reasonably priced
It was alright for a first time. Waiters were pleasant, service was quick. The food was a bit off though. I love Indonesia food but this didn't taste authentic. I can't quite put my finger on it but it didn't have great taste I was expecting. The Pad Thai smelled a bit off and tofu chunks tasted a bit rancid. The satay was OK. The place is conveniently located next to my work so if I was to go back, it would be at the recommendation of someone else. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.
Really great food. I recommend the lobster pas tai ! And all kinds of lobster based courses!
Really like this place...it serves pan-asian cuisine...definitely not authentic Indonesian...but nonetheless food tastes great.
Great food, great drinks, nice staff. Will definitely go again
got 1 disabled parking, lobby was too dark for disabled like me.
Team lunch here. The food was good. Great parking spot.
Nice ambience (especially for date night) but food was kind of mediocre given the price. Also, service was decent but they did seem to be in a hurry to clear our plates.
