Fantastic place to take your family. If you plan on visiting more then twice a year (and most people do) I suggest getting a family pass. It pays for itself very quickly and you get to bypass the lines at the entrance, get free parking and a discount for rides. The zoo also has great activities for children year round such as Zoo Boo for Halloween and Christmas at the Zoo.

The way the zoo is setup and laid out is nice and not to close together. They have a wide variety of animals there. Most if not all of the staff is friendly and helpful. Now let's talk about price. For two adults and one child. $110 on a weekday. $8 for parking. So just to get into the building $118 Now if you didn't bring food. Bring EXTRA money for food. Over $3 for a bottle of water!! I felt pretty bad for the animals. They look sad and depressed inside there cage. But if I would go from my natural habitat to being locked up. I suppose I would look and act the same way. Now would I recommend this place to anyone/You...Well..If you have money to spend. And have never seen exotic animals before. Then yes. This place is for you. If you are on a budget/Cheap..Then no. This is not for you :-)

This zoo is a great place to take kids. In addition to all the usual animals at a zoo, they have a dolphin show which is included with admission (be sure to get there early as these tickets are first-come). The African Plains exhibit is very good, and they have a fun Orangutan exhibit which allows them to climb up outside on large cables. In the summer you can visit the butterfly exhibit. The zoo is a little expensive, so if you plan on going multiple times in a year, I would recommend the zoo annual pass. Also, the zoo train ride (extra charge) gives you a tour of the back of the zoo, so don't expect to see any animals while riding the train.

Clean, Fun zoo with lots to see and do! I love the fact that many of the
interactive exhibits are free with the cost of admission! For example, You can pet sharks and many other things of that nature! Definitely recommend and will be returning!

1. Parking isn't free. 2. The dolphin show is the worst I've never seen. 3. No gorillas. 4. No petting zoo. No chimpanzees. The city needs to take over the zoo and get it on par with other Zoos such as St. Louis.

I dont know if its my age but seeing the monkeys almost made me cry. They all looked so sad in captivity. And lots of the other exhibits weren't that great. Don't seem like the animals have much room in their areas to enjoy captive living. The zoo needs to expand living areas for these animals!!!

We had a wonderful time here!! The food and treats were pricey but we felt that the tickets themselves were a great value! We will come back again! The zoo is very clean and even though there were a lot of people there, we never had any trouble getting close to see any of the animals!

Lots of fun for the kids and adults :) The dolphin show is by far my favorite! The zoo keepers do amazing job educating you on the animals and there care. Place is very clean, even the bathrooms. Prices are a little crazy for food and drinks though I mean $4 for a can of soda? I get it goes towards the animals, but just the admission alone is already up there and I'm sure if it was lower more people would buy or donate.

About Indianapolis Zoological Society

The Indianapolis Zoological Society is a non-profit organization that operates the Indianapolis Zoo. The zoo is located in White River State Park, which is situated in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The society was founded in 1964 and has since been dedicated to advancing animal conservation through education, research, and community engagement.

Through this partnership, the zoo has been able to raise awareness about climate change's impact on polar bears' survival while also supporting PBI's research efforts.

In addition to its conservation efforts, the Indianapolis Zoological Society also provides educational opportunities for visitors of all ages. The zoo offers various educational programs such as camps for children during summer break or school field trips throughout the year.

Moreover, it hosts several events throughout the year that are designed to educate visitors about animal conservation while providing them with an enjoyable experience at the same time. For example, during Halloween season every year they host "ZooBoo," where families can enjoy trick-or-treating while learning about bats' importance in our ecosystem.

Overall, The Indianapolis Zoological Society strives not only to provide visitors with an unforgettable experience but also empower people locally and globally towards advancing animal conservation efforts through education initiatives like their Conservation Conversation series which brings together experts on various topics related wildlife protection issues facing our planet today.
