Just visited zoo for first time this past weekend I purchased my tickets through AAA and glad I paid what I did I would never pay full price for this zoo. It was small, not all areas are accessible for handicapped at all. The elephants appeared to be bored or something wrong with them. We spent about 4 hours there. Unfortunately I will not visit again

The zoo is good, but expensive. We went with a reciprocal zoo membership from Fort Wayne Children's Zoo and only got $4 off! Most zoos give half off admissions. Otherwise the zoo is good, just too expensive to visit more than once a year.

I love this zoo and the animals seem fairly well cared for but there is definitely room to improve some of the older exhibits that have definitely not been renovated much in my lifetime of 21 years.

Zoo was nice but was not expecting extra cost of train, carousel, and gondola. Then after paying for train ride it just took you around the BACK of the zoo where there was NOTHING to look at but overgrown gardens and the backs of buildings and barns. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Not the biggest zoo but all of the exhibits were very high quality. My wife and I both studied and worked in the veterinary world, so we not only enjoy visiting zoos in cities we visit, but can also appreciate when animals are well taken care of. The dolphin show was excellent. I don't usually advocated gift shops but their t shirts were there best we've seen at any zoo. I am the Walrus and Otter Things were my favorites.

About Indianapolis Zoological Society

The Indianapolis Zoological Society is a non-profit organization that operates the Indianapolis Zoo. The zoo is located in White River State Park, which is situated in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The society was founded in 1964 and has since been dedicated to advancing animal conservation through education, research, and community engagement.

The Indianapolis Zoo covers an area of 64 acres and houses over 1,200 animals from more than 200 species. It offers a wide range of exhibits that showcase animals from different parts of the world. Through this partnership, the zoo has been able to raise awareness about climate change's impact on polar bears' survival while also supporting PBI's research efforts.

In addition to its conservation efforts, the Indianapolis Zoological Society also provides educational opportunities for visitors of all ages. The zoo offers various educational programs such as camps for children during summer break or school field trips throughout the year.

Moreover, it hosts several events throughout the year that are designed to educate visitors about animal conservation while providing them with an enjoyable experience at the same time. For example, during Halloween season every year they host "ZooBoo," where families can enjoy trick-or-treating while learning about bats' importance in our ecosystem.

Overall, The Indianapolis Zoological Society strives not only to provide visitors with an unforgettable experience but also empower people locally and globally towards advancing animal conservation efforts through education initiatives like their Conservation Conversation series which brings together experts on various topics related wildlife protection issues facing our planet today.
