I applied for a job that looked really scammy, an engineering position stating worth $100k-150k annually in a remote region. I applied, got a call-back to set up a phone appointment at a later date, etc. After, one of the representatives from Impact Recruitment called me, but rather than just tell me that they weren't going to consider me for the position, they make me go through all of my work history, salary expectations, benefit expectations, relocation, etc and then told me they weren't going forward with my original application.

I really would've preferred if they told me straight that they weren't going to consider me for the position, and I probably would've used their services anyways. So now they have a lot of my personal information and I did indeed tell them that they could email me jobs that I would "be a better fit for". That's all alright, until I started getting really awful $20k annually, remote location, contract with no benefits kind of jobs being spammed. I told them to stop and they've stopped sending me messages for now.

Honestly, it just seems so scammy - it's lik they pruposely put up a really nice job and salary, then they hook you on for the purpose of getting your information and trying to make you into one of their contacts. Very, very scammy and I'm glad I've stopped using Impact Recruitment's terrible services. See, another recruitment agency did it right - they emailed me back quickly saying I wasn't a right fit for the role I applied for, but if I called them back they would gladly try to find a different position for me - THAT's how this company should've done it.

Very, very bad trust violations from Impact.

How does an office clerk from Vancouver (who has never worked in a mine herself) go about finding suitable candidature for a mining electrician? A resume with outstanding credentials posting several positions with names of mining companies is not even read in its entirety. Shame on you for trying to push your inadequacies onto corporations to hire people from a list of people you can't read from a very detailed resume. Maybe impact recruitment could hire professionals who have experience in the indutries they promote would benefit everybody from job hunters and corporations alike. Get a grip!

Olivia cares about her clients and she is very easy to talk to. She makes sure that the job opportunity she gives you is the right fit for you and your interests. Very disappointed. I was been contacted by one of the recruiters who had left me a voicemail. She said she would follow up with an email as well and never did. I called back right away and left a voicemail and a follow up email. After 2 days we finally connected and she had asked me to come in to meet, which I agreed, and she said she would send me an email confirmation - no email. I sent an email again to follow up with the meeting on the day of - she cancelled and re-scheduled. There seems to be a lot of inconsistency and I feel they do not take candidates seriously. I decided I did not want to work with them and declined meeting with her.

I would rather work with someone who is responsive, who does what they say they would do, and who respects that I too have a busy calendar.

She is very professional. I got a job less than a month after meeting her. I highly highly recommend.
