Ambience environment with world class facilities. Excellent Faculty and Staff. Worthy to spend your precious time of your life in this polution free environment. Away from polluted cities. Close to Kolkata. All kind of facilities are available only you need to make use of it judiciously. Ideal place for foreign students to enrich yourself with Indian cultural heritage as well as keep you technically abreast with world.

This is the place I've spent five years of my life in. Great, memorable, serene, calm, beautiful... running out of words is easier than describing this place fully. It is a great place of learning, and living your life. This 2500 acres of lush green campus is a place with world class resources, awesome student life, secure future, and better knowledge. However, the importance of most of the things you realise only during the final days of your student life in this campus. All the best to the future IITians, this place will never disappoint you. Make sure you never disappoint it either, and live up to your name after achieving so much. From academics to extra academics to non academics, every aspect of it enjoyable. Don't make the mistake of thinking that the competition is over once the result of JEE is declared. From the first day to the last, you're going to face a lot of competition in each aspect of your life here. Hence the learning curve never gets saturated. Also, you're going to get many surprises from the moment you get into the campus until your first year is over. After that, you kind of get used to all those things. All the Best!

Unbelievable public sector first rate performance for a decade of it prompted Central govt.to have more IITs in 1960.Thoughtless and greedy
later politicians came up with the bright idea that more IITs the merry it
is.Calling some institute IIT is not establishing or building an IIT.There was even a move asking IITs to become autonomous by building their own
Corpus fund when IIT,KGP bordered and narrowly missed.Had it been allowed that time it would have shown what strength IIT has.

The campus is one of the best in the country, but in terms of food it's not that good. There is greenery all around. In terms of teaching, some faculties are brilliant, helpful and friendly but there are also some professors who don't mind making students understand their subject.
But if you are new here, take from me that you will be spending your most memorable time here.

Whenever I visit IIT kgp,I get back my energy. When fr d first time I visit here for some entrance exam, that time I determined "mujha aisa hi banna hai".. whatever it's a huge area,nice ambient,tight security! It's most prestigious and oldest education institutions!

Great place for learning, Lush green campus. IIT kgp environment is enough to motivate you to achive any goal.

Its a Historical place served as a base for American airforce during second world war, and before that British used it as a detention camp for the Indian freedom fighters also known as Hijli Kingdom. Subhas Chandra Bose visited her to collect the bodies of freedom fighters. The Hijli jail turned into the origin place of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. This campus also includes Nehru Museum of Science and Technology.

One of the best Institute for engineering science and technology in India. It is a premiere institute for engineering at international level faculties and campus. Most of the CEO's come from here. A very beautiful and vast campus. A great institution.....made India proud.

Staying in the oldest and the largest IIT is very very very fascinating.

Admission to most undergraduate and postgraduate courses in IIT Kharagpur is granted through written entrance examinations. Admissions to M.S.(by Research) and PhD programmes are based on written tests followed by personal interviews.
