Best Margaritas in town!!

Best views.

I know people complain the food is mehhh, but great burgers and nachos. It's not all bad.

Did I mention the Margaritas??? Haha

Great view other than that nothing very expensive food is ok at best. The cooks couldn't hit any of the temps. What's the point of asking how we wanted items cooked if everything comes out mid-well no matter what we said? Overall the only reason to come here is for the view nothing else.

This place is super busy and for tourist. The food wasn't Great, it was just okay, but you can not put a price on the view of the sunset. It is unlike anything I have ever seen. Even the kids were super impressed. The service was great. We got there Bout 6:30pm on a Saturday, sunset was 8:26. I recommend getting there at least 1.5hours before sunset, the place is SUPER packed. The kitchen made a mistake with my food several timea but the manager and waiter were super nice about it and took it offf the bill and srill gave me the food. Our intial quote for wait time was 45 mins it took about 10 mins. People are not coming here because the food is delicious its very average, people are coming here becaise the view is one of the most beautiful you wil lever see.

Great atmosphere!! Beautiful views of the lake. Wonderful decor !! Our server Alea was very attentive and friendly. As was the rest of the staff we encountered. Even if its out of the way, its worth it !!

Let's be real.

Let's be real.

People come here for the views and the experience, not the food or the service. It was our first time at The Oasis. We were in the area for a weekend getaway with the fam. The food was ok but the views were out of this world!

Here are a few tips to consider when coming to The Oasis.

1) If you can avoid it, come when it's not 100 degrees outside. Youll enjoy your food better when your not dripping in sweat. They assemble the umbrellas so that the sun isn't beating down on you but then that also takes away from the gorgeous view.

2) Get there early to avoid the lines. We came around 5:30 and no wait! By the time we left, maybe 7:30, there was a line out the door!

3) If you come early, ask for a table with the best view! We told them that it was our first time and that we wanted a table with a good view. They couldnt of seated us in a better location. We were on the corner of a patio so we could see all of Lake Travis.

4) Purchase a lock at the gift shop while you either wait for your food or wait for a table. Then, proceed in finding it a home in the vast amount of locations to choose from. But don't lose your key!

5) Order the Chicken Diablo as an appetizer. You'll be blown away. Trust me.

Food was forgettable, I don't recommend the fish tacos but I DO recommend the guac + queso dip appetizer as a nice share with one or two others.
BUT the location specifically the views make it absolutely worth going to especially with friend(s). *Beautiful scenery*.

Felt that the food was ok,not much in terms of choices.Service was horendous, no refills, had to ask everyone other then our waiter multiple times for various items we already asked our"waiter" for. He was clearly more focused on other more white, well to do, patrons.Apparently the 150$ bill was not good enough for him to care about us.Don't get me started on the young unprofessional females who "work" at the front check in desk.

The view was incredible! However the atmosphere was chaotic. If you're going to go I would not recommend a weekend due to the overwhelming amount of people. The wait was about an 1 1/2 but the staff had us skip the line because my wife is pregnant. The customer service makes up for the chaos and so does the delicious food!

The view is spectacular, try and avoid sunset peak time because it does get hot. If can't avoid it sit inside for dinner. A bit overpriced but food is delicious. Check out the bar and arcade room they have next door!

Spectacular views.

90 minutes waiting at the table and no food at all, so I cannot comment about the food.

Food is good, service is good, but let's be honest: You are only going for the view. I haven't been there in 4 years, but they now have shops and other smaller food joints (ice cream, coffee, etc) to keep the 1.5 hour wait for a table not so bad.

A good place to watch the sun set. It s huge but don t let the size scare you away. The food is okay but it s a trade off for the view. Spend some time looking around. There are bars and game rooms to help you waste away the night.

The view was amazing, line was a bit long but wait time to be seated was less than 10 minutes, customer service was on point . However, food was not what I was expecting. Seasoning was too strong , food was semi warm and beef fajitas are really not beef fajitas. The food is more like a Tex-Mex kind of restaurant.

The service and selection seem to be declining as the tourist trade increases. The view is stunning; I would know because I sat there for approximately 50 minutes after being seated, in direct Texas sun, waiting for someone to take my drink order. I would like to say things got better once we were acknowledged but alas, this was not the case. Another 20 minute wait for the drinks followed by a 30 minute wait for food. By this time, I was done. I took a couple bites of my veggie burger (which was actually quite tasty) and packed it up to go. Were they slammed? No, it was around 2:30pm on a Monday afternoon when I last visited.

The combo fajita plate was really good , great flavor and the meat wasn t chewy at all.
For water drinkers - the water was some of the BEST tasting water unlike alot of places it taste like hospital water or jus tap/ hand washing water . ive came now a handful of times and the place is always beautiful.
This past visit was on a monday and we were seated right away . Wasn t packed at all versus coming on a weekend where the wait time is over an hour .

It s sad because the bad reviews are true. You could still enjoy the view and just get a drink up at the top. As to eating here? I kind of felt bad for whoever runs this place because it s embarrassing how bad the service is. I can imagine it s hard to hire quality people. You mostly see teenagers running around looking confused. There s way too many tables for the space but I suppose it s to maximize profits. The girl that walked us to our table left us there because the table she took us too was full so she went back to find out what happened. We ordered guacamole and dip and the poor bus boy dropped it all over the floor in front of us. The food was awful and I mean just as terrible as you can imagine. I ordered the perfect margarita and it was far from it. Tasted like the usual slurped that comes out of the machine and doubt it had any alcohol in it, it was really sour. unfortunately this place will continue to profit because there is no competition and they have the perfect spot. This place could literally have one star all around and it will still make money.

After watching the feature on the travel channel friends and I took the hour and a Half drive to The Oasis from San Antonio. We arrived while still very busy about 8:11 and was greeted by a host that was clearly not happy about us arriving 48 mins before closing and stated in a nasty tone "Your gonna wait 1 1/2 hours.'' We were fine with the wait, we were also told we were not allowed to go anywhere but the waiting area. meanwhile the other guest were roaming freely. I went to the restroom and then to the bar to ask if it was okay to get a drink. The bartender a very nice man gave us great service and told us we can go where ever we'd like. We stepped outside to watch the sunset and then we were called for our table. As I was walking in the door a waitress screams at me "Move, get out the way!" so i move quickly thinking i was in the way of a server, and look around only to see her and another co worker laughing cause she startled us. No Emergency, No Nothing just rude! we sat at our table ordered another round of drink and appetizer. The waitress was not rude but not kind either, mostly behaved like we were bothering her. We order our dinner and it arrives and the server dropping off our food has 2 steak knives and states "I only have 2 knives left y'all are going to have to fight over them. We all express our displeasure with the comment and the guy from behind him busing tables pulls a dirty steak knife from the bus tub and hands it to the waiter to hand to us. at this point I'm furious and didn't eat. Our server does not return to our table until She decided it was our time to go with our checks separated which we didn't not ask for. This was truly the worst Experience i have had in a restaurant and will never recommend ever, Just flat out nasty people.

What you really pay for is the view, which is amazing, but it wasn t worth my most recent visit. There was an appetizer we ordered but never got, so we ended up taking it off of the order at the end; my nachos came out with not one, not two, but 3 extremely long hairs clumped together on top of my sour cream and it concerned me that my waiter didn t see it before giving it to me. The only thing I was satisfied with was the turnaround time on my new plate of food and the margarita I had. The staff was friendly and you can tell that they were trying but it wasn t hard enough for me, I haven t had service as bad as that in a really long time.

As an Austin native, I ve always loved going to the Oasis but I m not sure I ll ever go back.

This place is all about them views!!! Such a great place to see the lake at such a high vantage point. Food was ok but overpriced in my opinion. Service was mediocre. But a great environment and place to be. Glad we brought warm clothes though. 45 degrees in January.

They have an amazing view of the lake. Probably the best Austin has to offer but their food and service was below what was expected. They are always packed and you can't expect to get the attention from the waiters as you would get at a restaurant.

This was honestly terrible... the table was dirty, both sets of cutlery we had were dirty, and the food is below average. For the price the meals are at, you d think the service would match that. The server had the dips out and took awhile to come back with the chips. That s not much of an issue, but the place just felt completely dirty. Definitely do not recommend. The view is great, but I was bothered with the terrible experience I didn t really get to enjoy it in peace. I d say come to visit the surrounding area to check out the lake for free at the balcony outside the restaurant, but unfortunately we will not be back to dine here.

The view and atmosphere are exceptional, and warrant a visit on their own. The food however left something to be desired. For the prices that we paid I definitely expected more. Overall it was a good experience, but it was a one time experience as overall I felt let down.

Preface: This incident occurred during the lunch hours on 3/21/19. my fiancee had been having a tough few days so I decided that a lunch at The Oasis and some beers at the brewery later would be a good way to decompress a bit.

We get to the restaurant and greet the hostess and ask for a table for two outdoors and are quickly escorted out by what seems to be a newer, young male employee. He was instructed to seat us at table 122, which was apprently already taken up, so thinking quickly he took us to another table (136, I believe) only to find that the table had not been bussed yet. Being courteous and trying to do his best, the young man seated us at a larger top table rather than having us awkwardly saunter back indoors to wait for a table ... Which is what should've happened in the first place to avoid all of this.

Once seated at the larger table, a few minutes pass before one female who had been standing at the hostess stand earlier comes by to give us a strange look and proceeds to ask if we had been seated there by someone, we respond "yes," but what we were thinking was, "no, we just happened to stroll right past the host stand while being somehow undetected, grabbed menus from wherever it is they are held, and grabbed the first table we saw (which by the way was not easily visible)."

Anyway, some more time passes and a different female who was also standing at the hostess stand earlier decides to come and rather than say, someone will be with you shortly, or, someone will be right over to take your order, she decides to ask the same question we had already been asked once more, only this time with a more annoyed tone. She then proceeded to inform us that we could not sit at that table because it was meant for larger groups (despite us not asking to be seated there) and informed us that there were no tables for two available at that moment. She then began to ask if we would mind moving before immediately doing a double take to instruct us to move because, apparently, there was a party waiting for a large table (one that we, again, did not ask to be seated at).

By this time we were both frustrated and irritated with the situation and asked to speak to the manager, we were escorted to the host stand and asked to wait there for the manager to arrive about 5 minutes later.

To the manager's credit, he did listen to us and offered to find us a table quickly but by that point the whole experience had left a sour taste, we opted to leave and told him we just wanted to inform him so it didn't happen to others in the future.

Thankfully, we hit up Lupe Tortilla instead where we were treated to food that may have been a bit more expensive but was likely much better and, most importantly, we were not asked to relinquish our seats. We then topped it off with a visit to Austin Beerworks... Just sad to say that The Oasis has been ruined for us.

1 star for the view.

The Oasis is absolutely, breathtakingly, beautiful! From the front door to the back door, you will experience beauty decor, great good and one of the most amazing sunsets EVER! Get there around 7:00 to experience the sunset.

The Oasis is a pretty special place in Austin with bad food, decent margaritas and an incredibly beautiful view. You can't come to Austin and not come here.

They do not take reservations. Makes it hard for a big group as they are sticklers on the number of people in your party being present right there right then. The food was sub par. The service was good for the big group.

It was busy and mayhem and chaotic.

The sunset was very beautiful.

It is not worth it for the hassle and didn't drive to get out there unless you like to contend with big crowds and no reservations.

I do recommend experiencing it at least once. You'll be glad you did.

Views are wonderful and the property is spacious and trendy. The wait was two hours for the restaurant, the line for beer at the tap room was long, beer was tasty but expensive, and the food was lacking in serving amount and flavor. Bottom line: you wouldn't go out of your way for the food, you'd go for the view.
