5-star rooms and common areas, exquisite staff treatment

Incredible, a dream place. It is the most beautiful hotel on the island. We stayed a week on the balcony and it really is worth it, the service facilities, the food. . . Everything is great.
From now on it will be our reference on the island, it is really wonderful.

Biggest advantage: with Adults Only you get pure relaxation!
The architecture of the hotel was great, the beautiful garden and a really great pool area.
Biggest negative point: The spa area is also billed separately, 20 / day and person is clearly too much !!!)
Otherwise nice hotel, but a bit old. All the staff very nice. We booked a junior suite with sea view and breakfast. Very comfortable bed, the dressing room was a walk-in, very narrow closet, the bathroom without a window, shower quite narrow and with a step. Breakfast buffet was great (order Doble espresso instead of the coffee broth filled in pots). I think the price / performance ratio is too high for the small junior suites, so I can only recommend the hotel to a limited extent. Evening buffet without drinks costs 40 per person, but it's really great, I think the price is okay, so definitely try it out. The restaurants outside are also in the upper segment (you can't get cheaper). We always paid between 130 - 170 for dinner and wine for 2 people. The "La Torre", "Acanto", "La Hazienda" (300m on foot) and the "Salenta" in La Calenta (30 min. On foot) were all good, the "La Nonna" was ok in terms of food, but the service was loud, stressed (with only half-occupied tables), seemed snooty / arrogant, the warmth of a Nonna was totally missing, we really don't need that ... You can eat a little cheaper in Fanabe (15 min. Walk), but the service / food quality is correspondingly easier.
All in all, it was a relaxing week, the temperatures at the end of November / beginning of December were always 23-27 degrees. Due to the high additional costs and the price / performance ratio of the junior suite, we can only recommend the hotel to a limited extent ...

This adults-only hotel is very nice and located right next to Playa del Duque. It is considered one of the most expensive and exclusive hotels in the area. We were told that major Spanish soccer players used to go there.

While we liked the overall look of the hotel, we were a little disappointed with the dinner selection. We had half board booked. Breakfast was okay, but dinner left both my husband and I wanting more. We stayed for 9 days and there was just not enough change from day to day. Last year we stayed at a comparable 5 star hotel in Rhodes and every night they had a different dinner theme (Greek, Italian, Japanese - you get the idea). When you stay 7 days, they give you the option to dine 2 days during your stay at their other on-site a la carte restaurant. We wanted to check the menu before we decided because I am a Vegetarian and wanted to see if they offered options for me. The young lady at the front desk told me that I should download the Iberostar app and just check the menu there (quote: we are paperless). Ok, downloaded the app as told and checked the menu where I found a few nice vegetarian options. We booked a table through the front desk and arrived at 7:30 PM at the restaurant. There were a few nice tables that overlook the pool and we thought one of them was reserved for us. However to our surprise the waiter told us that these were reserved for other people and our table was in the back (like way in the back with one view at all). There was only one couple except us in the restaurant and they had a wonderful view of the premises, so why not giving us a nice table as well? And guess what? The menu had NO Vegetarian options LOL we asked the waiter and showed him the app that we were told to download, but he just said that the app was outdated. They did not even offer to make me a Vegetarian dish... that was very disappointing. We left the restaurant and went back to the buffet one. Needless to say, we were not impressed. The issue was addressed at the front desk afterwards. They apologized and said they will come up with a solution, but to our surprise we did not hear back from them at all.

What took the cake was that during check-out when we were presented with our final bill, my husband realized that they charged us with a 30 euro bottle of wine. Hahahaha... I am pregnant and don't drink alcohol and my husband only had one beer during our stay. They took it off but were not apologizing at all, which I would have expected.

All in all the hotel is nice (as you can see in the photos), but the service is not on a 5 star level. Maybe it were isolated incidents but we would not go back.

Iberostar Grand Hotel El Mirador lies directly on a beautiful beach (Playa del Duque), which is a bit less "Coney Island"-like than the beaches just to the East (Playa de Fanabe and Playa Torviscas). Our room was spacious, comfortable and had a lovely terrace overlooking the sea. Everything (rooms, common areas, pools, outdoor facilities, etc) was exceptionally clean and tidy. The breakfast buffet was extensive, fresh and accommodating (upon request they provided gluten-free bread and pastries). What we most enjoyed was that the service personnel were extremely friendly and helpful. Although the hotel was relatively busy, we never had to wait in lines or search for assistance. From reception to the bar to room service, everyone smiled, greeted us and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

A great hotel. Dreams come true. Here there is really nothing to complain about. Top service, super clean very nice ambience. All in all a place where you can find peace and recharge your batteries. Not to forget the food of the very finest. Thanks for the nice time !!!!!

It is the 5 time I come and every time the room has less terrace and not for the price is that there are no rooms with two beds this time I am not very happy with the hotel
But the staff is lovely but I wonder if I'll be back

Excelete treatment and unbeatable facilities. The breakfast buffet is very varied and delicious.

Very nice rooms! Super clean! Very friendly staff! Very large and varied breakfast! Very quiet and older guests! Very nice bars all around! The beach has few stones and is always clean! The water is also very pure and not too wild due to the breakwaters! The promenade is perfect for a walk! In the immediate vicinity is everything you need on holiday!

The hotel is very quiet, ideal to disconnect ...
In my case everything was perfect, I stayed only one night but I have to admit that for a 5 * gl they didn't give me anything out of the ordinary as a welcome detail, just a bottle of water. The cava and strawberries they gave me was for the exchange of the Iberostar points.
The spa, small and with appliances that did not work ... Rather, it looks like a 3 * hotel ... The one with the gran tacande or the bahia del duque a thousand times better.
The food, both dinner and breakfast is varied and of good quality ... but it is not a great buffet in terms of quantity ... The only thing that happened to me was that at breakfast I did not feel well attended because 90% of the guests were on the terrace and I was inside, so if it wasn't because I got up to order the coffee with milk, no waiter would have attended me ... A small stain for such a beautiful place ...

The second time I stay at this hotel, excellent location, very beautiful rooms, near the beach, a lot of restaurants. Everything is just super!

Fabulous hotel felt thoroughly spoilt and now totally relaxed and recharged.

Gorgeous resort with fantastic pool good selection of restaurants close to the beach (if you get tired of the amazing pool, that we never grew tired of). Our room was stunning (junior suite) with balconies that overlook the resort and area that made breakfast coffee or dinner room service a treat. Definition of rest and relaxation.

Unbelievable near at the two beaches with white and black sand, the palace of the duke and the shopping centre. Very beautiful adults only hotel. When you enter it first time, it's as you visit your own medieval palace. Amazing and the best we could find at teneriffa.

Very nice hotel in an attractive design and good location. Large garden with pool. Many, comfortable beach chairs which are also allowed to stand on the lawn, so that you can enjoy the excellent view of the sea, including umbrellas. Beach chairs and umbrellas are moved by staff to the place you want them to have (of course you can do it yourself). Very friendly staff, always helpful. Prices are completely okay for this hotel class. Our room, junior suite, was very attractively decorated, with a lot of feel-good character. Large bath towels that are changed every day (in the room). A large covered terrace including furniture. There is a one for cleanliness. No matter if room, pool, facility or the whole hotel. Food was delicious, whether in buffet form or in one of the attached restaurants. Fitness room, separate near the pool overlooking the beach and the sea, including towels and flavored water.

The best views and the most peaceful and quiet place in Tenerife .... and very luxurious

Just all right. If you don't like this then I don't know anymore. We are in La Balconada in a super large suite, right on the pool and it is fantastic. 10 points!

Absolutely top hotel, if not the best in Tenerife! Very very nice suites, furnished with style! excellent breakfast, top staff, wonderful garden with really great pool.! We have already booked again! The assistant manager Ms. Tiziana Gomez deserves special mention, she really does everything that is possible and takes care of the guests perfectly!

Beautiful place ... this place is one of my favorites without hesitation .. its terraces coexist a medieval air with a fresh air ..walk through its gardens looking at the pool on one side and the ocean on the other side .. the breeze on your magic face

More appearance than reality.
The hotel is clean and the staff friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is very good.
What bothered us a little, for example, was that all towels were changed every day. That is meant nicely, but absolutely unnecessary, especially with regard to the environment.
It was also stupid that you only got the daily newspaper at noon, when you were out you could only read it in the evening ...
There is a kettle which is great. However, if the used cups are cleared away in the morning and you only get new ones in the late afternoon, you cannot make tea or coffee.
And what I find really unbelievable is that you book a spa hotel, but have to pay another entrance fee for the spa area.
We didn't find it really quiet either. Especially when you are sitting at an expensive dinner and listening to two different types of music.
Maybe sounds worse now than it was. But I think it's the little things that make a difference.
Lastly, I would like to say that I had a Thai massage, which was really, really good.

Great place for a good rest, the only beach with light sand, warm ocean water, a very original area, including a shopping center in the style of a medieval town. Excellent cuisine and courteous staff.

Generally, the hotel is very nice location, the area is very large and well maintained. The breakfast offers a lot of choice, the pool is very large and nice, the staff friendly and accommodating. The room (junior suite) was at first glance very nice, but the bed was a disaster. It wobbles extremely and the frame pops with every movement go the wall, which sleep has made virtually impossible. In addition, the rooms are very noisy, you can hear every sound from outside, even the elevator, the always beep when he arrived on the floor. Our room was cleaned well, but I was very disturbed that the towels, which we threw in the bathtub to change were simply hung up again, completely crumpled and dirty ... Something is not! All in all, it has been a nice holiday.

This beautiful, charming hotel has very nice swimming pool with a sunny terrace, games room, SPA, bars, restaurants, shopping center areas and it s only couple minutes away from the most popular beach Playa del Duque. Very silents place. Luxury spaces. Recommend %.

Price higher than standard but the service and facilities are also. Above all service. Very nice and attentive.

Stayed at this wonderful holel the first week in april,everything was perfect from arrival to us leaving .room was large and spotless .food was unbelievable,could not have been better,staff all friendly .so much space,lots of areas to just relax in.Could not think of one thing that would have made our holiday any better.hope to return soon

In particular, the attention of Executive Assistant Marija, who was constantly listening to the needs of tourists, made sure that everything was going well.

My boyfriend and I spent 10 days at this beautiful Hotel. We had an amazing time and returned home fully relaxed and happy. A few things that really caught my attention:
- We loved the staff. Everyone was incredibly attentive, helpful and friendly. I was also impressed by how many languages they spoke on a very high level (many being fully bilingual in french-spanish or english-spanish)
-The room (Junior with Ocean view) was perfect (clean, spacious, tastefully decorated) and was being taken cared of multiple times a day by lovely housekeepers (they even left fresh flowers which I loved)
- The Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Soap are all "Cruelty Free"-made, this made me so happy
-We really appreciated how the drinks were served at the hotel bar. Whenever we ordered a drink that was made from just one or two ingredients (scotch, Gin&T, Rusty Nail), the waitor would mix it right in front of us.

I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, relaxing resort, without the typical drunk loud tourists around you. We thought it was definitely more of a "couples-resort" but this didn't bother us at all since we came as a couple as well ;)

I was with my daughters spending a few days of rest and relaxation, they made us feel like queens.
Spectacular hotel, extraordinary cleanliness with all kinds of details, very comfortable rooms, but all this would not make sense without the charming treatment of ALL the hotel staff, always aware of everything and every moment.
Breakfast buffet and impressive dinner, great variety, extraordinary quality in all dishes.

Fantastic hotel, superb location. Staff brilliant. We have stayed in a number if 5 star, leading hotels of the world in Europe and this is the one we keep coming back to, a couple of times a year. What more can I say .Thanks to all at this hotel and looking forward to our next visit.

Great hotel. During our Tenerife trip we stayed 2 hotels: El Mirador and Ritz Abama Golf resort. The service in El Mirador was even better than in the Abama resort which was also great. El Mirador is a fantastic place for a relaxing holiday. No kids allowed. They have a great bar at the pool. If you are looking for a relatively small hotel, with great food and superb service, go here. It is nicely situated at the boulevard, so you have good access to other restaurants and bars in the area.
