I was amazed at the amazing airport design. So modern and elegant. Though I was flying in on a less elegant airline.... Jetstar. My legs were cramped from the tight plane but I was happy to be off. The search dogs looked Cute and it was a painless experience to get through custom.
Lacks many places for food. I guess it doesnt help that the international departure lounge is closed
Only flew domestic with no baggage so check-in was a breeze. Was at the airport on peak hours and even if there were lots of people around, finding a good spot to wait for my flight never became a problem. Waiting area also has good views of the apron and runway so if you enjoy watching planes come and go, it's a bonus.
And yeah it was my first time there so I tried to look for Gollum but can't find him.
Awesome place
Loved the atmosphere
Great service and excellent decor. The staff are very relaxed but efficient. I never mind coming through here but you can beat the size and simplicity of the layout. Plenty of food and shopping choices.
Nice airport. Very basic but large enough to not get bored.
Modern looking airport with many aircraft. There is a large man tethered to the ceiling.
Great place, clean, efficient, the staff is friendly and helpful, its lovely, just entering there a couple of huges Eagles I loved, there is a special area for apps pick up, just follow the road.
The most interesting airport I've ever been to, decorated with a dominant LOTR theme. Loved how it has been designed and it keeps the visitors intrigued and amazed. Didn't have any issues with the staff or services as well.
Facilities are good, the whitcoulls bookshop is great. Reasonably efficient too.
Really nice airport, modern/funky. Only fault would be good to have some more food options after going thru int'l check in but not a big deal, points for the Lords Of The Rings touches around the airport :-)
Very good customer service information. Clean and tidy
Very good service, access to transportation. Very clean tidy and helpful staff.
Sort your f*ckqueueing life out. The people on front of me and behing me both missed and nearly missed connecting flights due to the obcene queue to get processed through customs. Not only were there only 3 desks open to process more that 500 people, but the physical queuing design was absolute chaos. I would not be writing this if someone had not repeatedly mentioned that "its ALWAYS like this" stop building rooms that look like rocks from the outside and sort your customer service out. Not at all what I expect from kiwis.
I love this airport, small, but with good service and attention. Plus: they have showers
Airport FLYER Bus.... as of Feb 2019.. Be WARNED.. The new Arrival and a departure location is NOT well sign posted.. AT ALL.... I travel frequently and the Airport Management and Powers to be should have made a much better effort to sign and direct users FROM inside the Terminal......
Great loved it -
Love the eagles in ceilings and enough food places and shops
New as of Early 2020.... Amazing flow space and open design....
Just pick up family fun waiting for people to arrive for one hour people coming and going as long as you don't want spend on food drinks every thing is good
This is a nice small airport but it still has all the things a bigger airport has. Checking in and departures are well organised and there is always staff on hand willing to sort out any boarding issues you might have. Customs is always seamless and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking although it can get full during the Christmas holiday period.
Poor service for NZ citizens and passport control. Kids under 12 have to join the "all passports queue" which took about 40 mins to clear, not a great experience after a red eye flight from Aus. Surely more than one officer at this desk would be a good idea when a flight lands???
Easy to get to using normal buses, nice atmosphere,
Fairly smooth going as far as airports go. Good range of facilities and close to the city centre.
Clean place and adding to it. Under construction but not bad to navigate.
Great easy access.
Off the plane and picked up luggage and in the cab within 15 minutes
A nice, quiet airport. The landing path is quite scenic.
They make uber and ride share pick up spots difficult to find and get to. Public transport to the city is very expensive and very slow
Small but very sympa airport. Beautiful view to the harbour. And good povs for plane spotter
Congratulations to driver Gregory on the flyer yesterday afternoon. He was extremely helpful to all passengers. He went that extra mile for all of them ensuring they knew where to find various landmarks. He was lovely to a disabled lad and his mum. Great service Hregory.
Very nice clean airport the staff is efficient and the various formalities are quick
Takes longer to get through security than it does to fly there
Always clean and fresh. Love the open spaces and feel
Nice airport. Good food options but airport prices of course.
Wellingtin international and domestic airport is the best little airport in the world and is the centre of Middle Earth. Not only is this modern and well laid out airport fit for purpose, but the unique sculptures and artworks are worth visiting, even if you are not flying anywhere. There are plenty of parking options available, depending on your budget. There are also numerous eating options and some other retail shops for that last minute shopping. All in all the airport and it's surroundings are definitely worth a visit.
It was very nice and very clean
Well organised and very friendly staff
Beautiful scenery and great atmosphere
4 planes in at once ...2 quarantine staff. Huge queues!! Worse than Kathmandu by far... looked like industrial action but apparently not
Good beer options for an airport before security. Note that their wifi blocks Uber.
Nice small airport with a good range of eateries. More power points wouldn't go astray though!
I like how its quick and fast but if some people are late and the plane is leaving in like 20 mins and they dont let them on, thats a bummer.
The free WiFi is great. Compared to Auckland, it is a real bonus. Well done to the creative capital for making it easy to work a d stay in touch.
Great little airport need to extend the runway to acomadate bigger aircraft and increase the number of international flights though, like the new air traffic control tower.
Great terminal with good amenities. Unfortunately however on arrival we went through very narrow old corridors because a large section of the airport appears to be closed
Always a joy. New layout v nice. Looking more upmarket!
Cost me $7 just too pick someone up thought that was a bit stink considering circumstances.
If you buy any food or drinks they are very expensive
Very well done Airport, love landing and taking off at thos Airport. Feels like home. Great ATC service and customer service. Well done food and frist class service. Love working around the International Airport. Cannot wait to put NZWN on my flight planner again.
Clean and tidy. Its a bit confusing with domestic travel running through the international terminal so security is just before boarding again
Looking good with new hotel and multi-storey car park.
Airport parking. Nice booking system when it works. 4 out of 5 Prepay, get a better rate. System recognizes number plate, prints on ticket. In my case, didn't align with booking, maybe I made a mistake, don't know yet, so when I left, had to pay twice as much in addition to prepayment to be able to leave, and sort afterwards. Phoned to sort, polite gent helped, 5 of 5, had to go to website, 1 of 5, then filled details of booking, receipt, car, card etc, pressed submit. 20 times, nothing happened. Resubmitted all several times, nothing..... finally accepted after 5 min or so. - 10 out of 5. Either allow phone sorting, or get your system sorted WIAL.
Be aware that Wellington airport is termed a "silent" airport through which only Jetstar do not make a call to passengers to embark the aircraft in the foodcourt area, very unhelpful if your distracted, also you can only access management through a phone not face to face, very unsatisfactory, what could the reason be for this as a blind person would be hard pressed to navigate this airport let alone travel on a jetstar flight, i couldn't find any disclosure details of this fact and staff dont advise passengers either when checking in.
The moral is avoid jetstar at all cost
Conveniently located international airport in Wellington. It is a bit vulnerable when it is windy but it is wellington. It has changed parking space and it is probably under construction as usual: It's always confuse where I have to go for a park. Book a parking lot via online if trip within a shot time of period. Great deco with Road of the Ring.
Well maintained, artsy airport with all the amenities. The sculptures by Weta Workshop are very impressive.
Great food and excellent beer. And it's a good airport too !
I hated it because of the service!
I didn't get help on where to go and where my flight was
Worst airport eva
