Staff need lot of training on Customer service. Would love to see them bit polite and helpful. The guy who was handling my mother's wheelchair was extremely rude not only to us but to people around us as well.

An amazing little airport. Plenty of space and good food choice while you're waiting. Short queues (generally, though it can be busy at peak times). Easy and inexpensive access to the city by public transport, and a Snapper (public transport card) top up kiosk in the arrivals area.
There are statues from the Hobbit scattered around (courtesy of Wellington icon Weta Workshop), something for the kids to do is to hunt them out (there isn't much else in the way of activities for children).
Quarantine are rigorous, with good reason, to protect NZ's unique wildlife, so make sure to declare or dispose (or you'll get a really big fine). Bags are x-rayed and the are sniffer dogs, so don't even think of trying to sneak something through
Landings can sometimes be white-knuckle due to Wellington's famous breezes, but on a fine day you'll get a lovely view of the northern South Island or the harbour on the approach. Look out for the control tower - it sits atop a nearby ridge, amongst houses!

One thing that I would love seeing in the future at this airport is a observatory deck to watch the planes taking off and land for people like me who love aviation :)

The international airport is basically with the domestic airport. The winds into Wellington and the short runway mean that less international flights come into Wellington. The domestic is very busy because of Wellington being the capital city and politicians fly weekly in and out. Same goes for many government servants. It is very packed at the moment because it is being renovated and expanded. Plan time to get yourself around and check the layout particularly in the domestic part. Good shops and food outlets. Not too expensive compared to city.

Poor service. Often no one in the info desk and you have to pick up the phone to call them, you may wait a long time and when it finally gets through, unfriendly and impatient staff want to end your talk ASAP. I know my English is not that bad and in my college, most classmates can understand. But staff here, they pretend they can't hear you and it seems they are not well trained, the info they provide about this airport is wrong. For example, there is a Snapper bus card sold here. They tell me a shop named "RELAY" offer it but actually the staff in "RELAY" don't even know what is Snapper. I spend 20 minutes asking, shop by shop, and get that. A waste of time.
Food is awful, you don't have many choices as there are only 5 bars, all of them is fairly small, selling sandwiches and burgers, fastfood.
Don't expect too much before you set foot here. Though this is the second largest airport in NZ, the experience is really terrible in all aspects.

Poor quality airport. Deeply unhelpful and disinterested staff. For example the British man at the information desk: I said "hello is there a toilet here please?" his response "yes" thanks very much for being a true idiot and being unhelpful. Typical New Zealand attitude.

After a fabulous holiday in New Zealand I could not believe the delapidated state and shabby facilities at the Wellington international departure lounge. A Subway outlet and the Inappropriately named Mojo Cafe that I suspect lost its mojo some time during the 70 s and resembled a jumble sale stall, with a collection of antique rolls, cakes and croissants piled up in a refrigerated display case .... yum yum . And who was the genius who decided to install metal legged chairs on a stone floor - what a racket every time anyone moved. Finally, I trust you will have a good insurer to cover the likelihood of folks tumbling down the steps at Mojo. Sorry to be leaving New Zealand but so relieved to be leaving this departure lounge.

Average food selection (however nothing is open when you're on the last flight of the day), no power outlets anywhere, well nowhere obvious. Layout and staff seem friendly enough. Best thing is the cheap direct bus to/from the city ($18 return) so if you have a couple hours to kill, take the 20min trip to the city and back.

Wonderful experience to be at Wellington airport.
Well maintained and awesome ambiance. LOTR theme adds to the beauty of the airport. Limited but cheerful staff do their best to make you feel better during your stay at airport.
WiFi is available for free.
Both domestic and international terminals are located in same building. Comparatively small for the an international airport. You may need a great deal of patience to grab a cab to the city on a Monday morning.

Great airport especially in the departure check-in area. Modern check-in terminals for Qantas and Air New Zealand, with numerous flights to Australia daily (Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra & Sydney) and now a new flight to Nadi, Fiji nonstop. It overlooks Cook Strait and just as the sun is rising that view is unbeatable! Offers an early morning flight to Sydney which is a common choice for our family which is great because we arrive at about 8:30am Sydney Local Time. Clean, modern facilities and many shops/cafes to eat at. Departure is 5 stars but arrival is only 4 as the biosecurity could be improved; the queue is always long due to a shortage of staff...

Edit: Lack of parking if you go between approximately 10am and 6pm. Took 20 minutes to find a park. Luckily, a new parking building is being built for this steadily growing international airport.

Good airport with friendly and helpful staff. The renovations to the regional flights area is a very good update from the last time I was here.
Plenty of room in the parents room for changing children and babies although a clock on the wall or flight board would be a nice addition.

Arrived here after midnight so almost everything was closed and had a small staff on duty.
Have the electronic passport control which speeds passage through immigration.
Its a small, single level airport building that is getting tired in appearance.
Has two baggage carousels.
Public car parking and Disabled car parking. Public and disabled toilets / rest rooms located inside. Is a wheel chair friendly facility.

Would give e half if I could.. Sitting g at international departure gates, security coming in and out... People wiring, no smiles from the staff nor information letting us know how long we have to wait. Extremely poor by international standards!!

If the WETA cave isnt enough, a quick drive at the Wellington Airport will surely feed more of your LOTR hearts. Gollum and the dragon, smaug will greet you upon arrival. Kiwis are super friendly folks that they will allow you to take pictures with thier 'greeters'
