Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort Review

The hotel recently reopened for month after a couple years shutdown and has undergone a beautification of fittings. I must give it 2thumbs up for the renovation they've conducted. There was a small issue of the selection or tiles used in public places especially where the floors can get wet from the rain, which then renders the flooring hazardous. Restaurants were wonderful with both the Italian and kampong restaurants performing well above expectations.

Will return for leisure next time.

I work for a global travel company and have been for 35 years. I can safely say this is the place to relax near the seaside in a fantastic 5 star hotel. And if you are in to tanning then this is your place

Rooms are large and fully air conduction. I do consider this to be a true 5 star hotel. There is a tv, free mini bar, kettle in the room and room service is out of this world. What ever we needed was no problem for the hotel to provide. AAAA STAR from me

The staff are wonderful, we were treated with good respect, special thanks to Nazrin who is the assistant manager of this property. He really looked after us on my birthday. Also special mention of Arif who sorted out a misunderstanding on my bill

Also there are two-five place to eat within the hotel compound. The lower resteraunt manager was great and we talked a lot

The property has three lovely size swimming pools for different abilities and age groups . And yes the water is warm

The seaside is just a stone throw away, we had a sea view room and it was wonderful waking up to the sound of waves

There is a gym, executive lounge and spa facilities

This has truly been one of my best holidays which I will treasure for ever.

There is no Doubt that we will return here one day.

Nice stay with newly renovated room, nice pool for adult n kids. Fire show and live singing at TC beach is bonus.

Great location for a weekend getaway. Just recently re-opened after being closed for 3 years due to propeety renovation/refurbishment. What I like about this place is the modern classic architecture that is still maintained since the late 1970s! The swimming pool (Pool A Area), is still as how it was back when I first came in 1979 :) Very nostalgic! Nope, never rustic nor mouldy, new & spotless all the time at every visit! Do get the sea-view room to see the SunSet & SunRise from your own balcony, apart from hearing the soothing sound of the waves 24/7. My hope is for this place to be continually perfectly maintained. Supervision of detailed Housekeeping is key to satisfy Room Guests , keep it up! Kuantan.

All service that provide by hyatt regency was excellent. They keep remind us to follow the S.O.P also very friendly staff.

Great place for a relaxing trip. Friendly staff and white beach . The road to the hotel should be re design as it's heavily congested in holidays . The breakfast buffet is good .

Forever Hyatt. Nice beaches, well maintained and warm hospitality.

Hotel beach was nice and somehow clean. The old little ship cafe was nice. Live music at cafe was terrible. Food quality was good and stuffs were friendly like all other Malaysians.

Nice simple clean rooms, rooms facing the pool are nice for the easy access to pool and beach. The staff aren't that friendly and welcoming for a 5 star hotel.

Lovely resort with fine sand beach. Excellent location with access to lot of cafe in 200 meters.

Stayed for a short business trip, really good amenities and breakfast food for its price. Highly recommended

Nice hotel and nice view. The hotel have direct access to teluk cempedak. The stuff is very friendly but think they are under stuff at the moment since have to ring few time to get room service.

One of the best hotel at Kuantan, all staffs are excellent and friendly. Available to help at anytime and no cost but high value.
Recommended for all travelers, the value more than money we spent.

Beautiful beach and good service.... Good food nearby

Got bad experience when checking in but the assistant manager managed to calm us down and make our holiday enjoyable.

Great room, staff and great view. Excellent cleanliness

The location is beautiful, the rooms are decent but the food was a bit disappointing for breakfast. So much so I opted to go to Starbucks for the breakfast on day 2

Great location. Good hotel. Slightly over priced but it's a Hyatt. Food wise there are few restaurants at the property however choices are not that many. The beach is quite clean and the pools are well maintained. Great place to unwind for a weekend.

Place was so Great! Love everything in this Place!!, Food esp the Vegetables Dhall and the Buffet.Rooms only need to improve... Hotel Staff are very Nice and Friendly. 4.5 Hoping to spend a week or so with my Kids to show them how Beautiful the Place is. <sigh>

Gym is kinda small but the swimming pools are huge and clean.
Although the room booked doesn't include breakfast. You have to buy separately. So that's a bummer.

We stayed for 2 nights, took the Deluxe room with Seaview. Staffs were superbly friendly and helpful. Breakfast were good with a mix of local plus western delight. Would say that its the best in Kuantan. Plus the beach was a plus point.

I called 3 times to finalize booking and bad customer service they give a different price every time you call.

I have been to this resort few times and I love it so much. There two pools by the beach and a bar inside one of them which makes it very convenient. I would recommend it to everyone.

Was looking forward to staying here post refurbishment. Rooms were done up nicely but room sizr still rather small for the entree level category. Was told hotel is fully booked, though i'm not too certain of it. Check out time was pretty chaotic especially if there is a large group leaving at the same time. Under staffed and quality of customer service + speed of service needs to be improved tremendously. Complimentary minibar snacks & drinks in the rooms are a plus. Only downside in bathroom is the lack of hooks to hang change of clothes (there was only 1 miserable nob for a hook). Towel rail was non-existent. There were 3 pcs of painting balancing precariously on the ledge near TV - not sure why it is done so, for safety reasons i'd suggest for it to be hung on the wall. TV does not work, non of the buttons on the remote can turn it on. Stayed at block 1, level 4...could hear thumping bass beats from one of the outlets downstairs all thru the night and conversations of guests from corridoor could be heard quite clearly. Sound proofing of the rooms are pretty poor. Hotel has 2 pool areas and a nice clean private beach front. Easy access to fast food & starbucks located about 5mins walk from hotel. Busy and noisy along the teluk cempedak esplanade area with a daily mini bazaar and activities running till late.

Great place for vacation with your family. Staffs are very nice and helpful. Didn't expect the welcome drink upon arrival. Love this place.

Nice old hotel that is maintained very well. It looks brand new. Get amazing beach and sea view from its restaurant while enjoying your lunch or dinner. Served limited menu items but great food choice!

It's wholly owned by the royalties and currently still under refurbishment.

Not much changed since the close for renovations other than the rooms. The room gotten an upgrade, and is still a comfortable regional Hyatt hotel.

One of the few hotels along the Telok Chempedak sea front that provides you with all the amenities you could have wanted for a beach resort. A little pricey but its worth the visit. Private beach as well as two huge swimming pools if you just wanna laze and relax. Private parking is also available.

Have promised us more. Service tries hard but it doesn't work. Prices on the homepage have nothing to do with reality. Sometimes 30 percent more and that without tax.

Hyatt Kuantan temporary closed, will be re open not known

Had a fantastic stay with my kids. They enjoyed the pool and the beach. Both my husband and I loved our sea view room. Truly appreciate the management for upgrading our room to a sea view room. Our lunch at the Kampung kitchen was little disappointing. The food was tasteless. But overall we loved our time spent there and would definitely come again.

Dear hotel manager, pls stop your guest from smoking by the pool. We have children playing at the pool. Pls display signs for no smoking on the sun beds. You can invite them to smoke at sampan bar if they have to. Indiscriminate smoking around the pool is crazy!!

The lap pool has a ledge under water. The edge of the ledge is really sharp and my father cut his foot standing on it.

If u fix the 2 above, I would have given you a 4 star.

To me incomprehensible as here the name Hyatt is allowed to stand. Dirty (everywhere!), Loud, small and moderate friendliness. Not recommendable.

I love this hotel. The beach was clean, so was the pool. There was 'recreation room' with slides (toddler' slide) and board games (not many though).

Beautiful place with the restaurant just facing the beach.

The resort located besides the beach. Beautiful resort. Got all kind of restaurant invicinity incase you dont want to travel around such as KFC, sushi King and McDonald's.

5 Stars hotel with 5 stars service. Keep it up guys.

Clean hotel rooms, clean bathrooms, great and prompt service from the hotel team, love the ambience and everything of this hotel. Walking distance to Mcdonalds, Starbucks, KFC, A&W and others from the hotel. My daughter love this place so much that we are planning for another round trip there again even we just got back!

We had a very nice afternoon at the pool of Hyatt Kuantan. The Service was friendly and helpful, Snacks at the Poolbar affordable and good quality. We will go there again!

Came here for a tea break. Limited time promotion rm17nett (4pm to 9pm) at The Deli for a drink and a slice of cake. service tiptop, attentive staff and well mannered. Coffee were great and cake were super delicious. Wonderful sea view and sea breeze.. Will be back for more..

The dishes are cooked well and reasonably priced. The ambiance and the view is awesome especially at night with the full moon.

I hate comparing but I've been staying in this resort since ages ago i.e. before its renovation. We always come here to celebrate our special moments e.g. birthdays, anniversaries 'cause we love the location of the resort and the hospitality of the hotel staffs. However, my last visit to your resort turned out to be a bit disappointing.Despite the refurbishment made to the room, certain qualities are not at par. For instance, the left over food left by the previous guests at the pool side was left over night and only collected by the hotel staff the next evening. The basic amenities were also not up to a 5 star standard considering the price that we pay for the room. The hotel staffs too lack genuineness. They need to improve their communication skills and friendlier manner. I miss the old charm and I hope your resort can further improve the quality of your service, thank you.
