Deceptively good. Was not expecting much. Atmosphere and staff were tired and worn out. Not what I'm used to from Hyatt. We got lucky with our waiter (Rob R.). He had a great personality, knowledgeable and made great recommendations for the bar, knowledgeable and mad great recommendations for the food. He was able to explain how it was prepared and the flavors. The calamari was actually very good the way it was prepared (thick strips outstanding). The steak was tender and flavorful (get the sauce on side to try I liked it better without the sauce). Definitely ask for Rob as waiter.

This was a pleasant hotel with impecable service. The fitness room was top notch and the ocean views were awesome. The breakfast buffet was a great start for your day and the menu had choices for the kids.

Wonderful service, clean rooms, clean dining area and great location. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the breakfast selection didn't offer much variance from day to day and the eggs tasted fake.

The entire check in process at this property was a...

The entire check in process at this property was an extreme disappointment. We arrived to the hotel early (around 12:30pm) and went to the front desk to check in. We understand early check in is never a guarantee but wanted to drop our bags off and possibly enjoy the pool. We were greeted and told we would be notified when our room was ready, guaranteed by 4pm). The attendant again reiterated our desire to be located near our friends we were traveling with -- this request had been made at time of reservation about 5 months prior.

We went through the day and spent some time at the beach and the pool. It was getting close to 3:15pm and I noticed a missed call on my cell phone from a 727 number -- but no voicemail. I called back and the number just rang and rang. I called the hotel directly to inquire and the woman I spoke with didn't know if anyone called me but said I would be texted -- not called, when the room was ready and again, they guarantee check in by 4pm.

It was 4:15 -- still no text so we went down to the front desk to see what was going on. The woman now told me she was new and called another gentleman to help. He clicked around on his computer and continued to call housekeeping on his walkie with no response. I told him I was growing concerned because we had a 2 year old with us that needed to take a nap and dinner reservations at 6pm that we wanted to be changed and ready for. He could not give me a reason why our room wasn't ready. He instead gave me a key to a "pool cabana" -- with no explanatiojn about what it was. I said, "Oh so the room isn't ready? Is this a different room?" We walked away to head to the cabana -- a small, cold room off the corner of the pool with a small bench inside. It looked like an office. They wanted my child to take a nap on a small, wooden bench?

I finally received a call from the manager, Ricky. "This is just the way it worked out today and we can't accomodate your room type in the location you requested. I tried to call you earlier." This was almost 5pm and I'm just now being told this? And why didn't he leave a voicemail?

We agreed on a downgrade of a room, on a different floor than our travel partners in exchange for a measly $30/day discount. I had to ask for more and received a $50 dinner credit for missing our reservations. We then trapezed BACK DOWN TO THE LOBBY for the fourth time with our child to get the room key. We went up to our room and if you can believe it, it took another almost 45 minutes for our bags to be brought up. We were not able to shower and make it to our dinner reservation. When my husband called down to ask for our bags the woman said how about a free breakfast credit. The next day when we asked for more details, we were told there was no note of a breakfast credit on the account.

The next day, our friends arrived and we warned them of the check in fiasco. Guess what? They had the EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE. 4:15pm - no update, no call, no room ready. But guess what? They were offered a substaintially higher credit than we were offered just the day before. And they had 7 month old twins with them. I kept saying, what if we didn't have our room for you to retreat to? Unacceptable. If you can't get the check in process down succesfully, you've set the tone for the entire guest stay.

The rest of the hotel staff was great -- all the restaurant, housekeeping, and valet employeess were so gracious to us. You could tell everyone at the front desk was new, being trained, and/or didn't know what was going on. The whole first day put a terrible taste in my mouth.

On the last night, I went to the front desk to request a copy of my check out receipt and there were no credits to boot listed. I had to call down to the front desk twice to address then. Then, on the morning of check out, the correct credits STILL weren't listed. I had to chase the manager down all day on the phone -- while traveling home. This is completely unacceptable.

Everything was terrific except the water pressure in the shower. The single worst hotel for water pressure I've ever stayed at. For 300 a night they should make sure you have great water pressure. A crime against water pressure fanatics the world over.

Spoiled by park hyatt in Abu Dhabi.4th of July so ... Probably not the best day to judge. Pool small, halls somewhat dingy for a Hyatt, scrapes worn... Bed fine. tV went out but the repair man was fantastic, came quickly and knew what he was doing. Plus side very accomodating check-in got room early, beds fine, and full fridge stove and sink make long stay more reasonable price but wouldn''t go back for a short stay the Sandpearl is better.

In my view, the best spot for lunch on Clearwater Beach. We also love the Thanksgiving buffet. Ask for a seat on the balcony overlooking the beach scene. Not cheap and most guests are not locals, but highly recommended.

Hyatts rock! This one has prime location. There are the usual parking and resort charges so budget accordingly. Though there are many supplemental benefits associated with the resort fee, we did not use them. Room was spacious and comfortable. Balcony views were great.

In April 2018 we had a great holiday in this hotel! We did have a big - really big - two bedroom suite with a stunning view! The beach in front is really awesome! Our daughter loved to be in the pool and to eat some snacks at the bar! Everybody is friendly and if you need some help you will get it as soon as possible!
