I travel a lot for work. My stay here was the best experience I have every had at a hotel.

The experience was so great that next time I travel I won't be looking for what hotels are in the City/Town i am visiting... I will be looking for what Cities/Towns are host to a Hyatt recency.

Mind blown.

Honorable mentions go to Joe at the front desk and Aarron at the surf bar.

I cannot rate this hotel well for a number of reasons. The biggest being that the hotel charged me an extra $4,225 by accident, even though I even asked the front desk if the pre-authorization charge should have gone through instead of pending. We pre-paid for the hotel and they said it was normal to pre-authorize the full amount of the stay and the charges would come off at the end, but this didn't happen. So they charged us for the pre-paid reservation we already paid, plus the charges we owed upon checkout. It's also going to take 3-5 days to get my money back, plus the week it's already been since they charged my card. Beyond the charges issue, the hotel is just ok.
We stay in 4 star hotels when we travel, and I didn't feel the Hyatt Clearwater held up to any I have been to. Here's why:
- There is no complimentary breakfast no matter what room.
- You are forced to pay $25 per day to park.
- The pool, parking and entire hotel are open to the public.
- It is pretty noisy outside with the pool entertainment and street crowd/car stereos
- The pool has zero shaded areas and is very small. It's too hot in the Florida sun to not provide any shade for escape. It's also very crowded at all times due to it's small size and being public.
- Room service is terrible...expensive and in to-go boxes. Also really poorly made and just thrown in the box
- The dessert we had at the restaurant/bar was also very bad. We got Churros and they were so covered in cinnamon they were not edible. It was like the cinnamon challenge.
- The room was nice, but a little worn. Missing parts on furniture, and there's basically nothing to cook with in the kitchens. Not even a pan.
- The halls and elevators are sauna level hot.
- Clearwater beach across the street is very very packed and touristy. There are no discounts on cabanas or reserved area for the hotel at Clearwater beach. We ended up going to Indian Rocks and Belleair beach.

I'd say that his hotel would be a "to each their own" kind of thing. It's not for the type looking for a relaxing time with high quality service and accommodations. We were pretty disappointed with the stay other than the view from our room. It's seems like this hotel either doesn't know how to offer 4 star service and amenities, or just doesn't care because the people will come no matter what.

The facility wasn't clear on website about "3 people only" allowed in hot tub. Pictures make it seem like it's "on" the beach, not across the street. $25 a day to park. The resort and "spa" is just resort because the spa is closed. There is only one hot tub for hundreds of people staying here. The one movie they say is complimentary a night is 10 years old and you have to wait till 7 pm to watch it. Biggest disappointment of our entire trip.

Parking is advertised at only $5/hr. But when you go to pay you don't out there's a $15 minimum. We thought there was a bug with their parking kiosk. So we walked all the way into the lobby to find out it was just their minimum. We're locals so this lack of transparency really put us off.

And we've stayed in A LOT of hotels all over the world.

We went for a short weekend there, they have a great FL resident special going on, so the price can't be beat if you're from Florida. Our room was fabulous, and the design of the hotel is really cool and modern too. The pool is excellent, and they have the greatest "sky terrace" on the roof with a hot tub that's really cool to hang out on. But what put them so far ahead other hotels was their staff. SO NICE! They bend over backwards to make your stay as great as possible. Kristina is awesome!

Furthermore we never even left the hotel, because of how awesome the hotel's restaurant is. SHOR has the best Lobster Ravioli I've ever tasted, I highly recommend it!

First The Cons:

First The Cons:

I dont know how the beach is regularly l, but due to the recent red algae bloom in the coastal waters, the water was absolutely abysmal. Puke green water, seaweed and debris everywhere (in the water and on the beach.

That aside this I can say is realiablly true year round:

The beach will get *CROWDED* so if you want a good view of the beach you best be there before 9:30 AM.

The Pros:

If you can't find parking ( which will happen to the later hours of the morning /day), there is a mall /resort with multi-level parking right in front of the beach.

At the very same Mall / Resort you can purchase a plethora of swim , Beach and other summer related paraphernalia.

If you can't find a spot or didn't bring an umbrella there are little umbrella booths lined in a row on the beach, which sell for $40 for the whole day or $30 if you bring your own chairs.

All in all it wasn't a terrible experience, but I wouldn't suggest it unless you didn't have better options.

This is a very clean and beautiful hotel. Its become iconic over the years even being featured on numerous post cards from the clearwater area. Located right on the beach it offers a lot of amenities to beach goers including shops restaurants. And it even has a trike rental service on the beach side so guests and visitors alike can cruise up and down the island.

Room stated it could sleep 6 people, but the sofa bed was so cheap, the springs could be felt, it had a cheap vinyl cover that was extremely noisy every time you moved it almost woke the other guests up. They brought us a single cot the second night but it only slept 1 person. For the price of the room I would expect better, $300 plus a night!

This hotel has the friendliest staff I've ever experienced. The housekeepers made an effort to make us smile whenever they saw us. Extremely lovely girls. The rooms were clean and always maintained by the housekeeper at appropriate times. We didn't even know she came until our room was spotless every time.

So we drove 18 hours to come to this hotel. We saw everyone get a glass of Champaign when they first checked in (we did not, no big deal). We went up to our room took a nap due to the drive. We got hungry after a bit, so we went to the pool bar.. it was ridiculously expensive there! Food & drinks were so overpriced. My boyfriend would only get the chicken fingers & fries because it was the cheapest on the menu! The very first night we are there, we go out to the bar (all the bars/restaurants around the hotel close so early so we had no choice but to walk down to a roundAbout & try the bars there.. were out at the one bar & I check my account & they took out $350 WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE because in case we would ever put something on the room they can take it out of those funds. I only left enough in my account for the hotel room. Thankfully the woman on the phone had put it back very fast because we don t ever put something on the room! Another thing is we barely got hot water. I know being in a huge hotel; most people are taking a shower at the same time, but for us to have absolutely none was the worst. They locked the terrace doors (we were on the terrace floor) at 8pm so you re literally lost on how to get to your room when you ve had a night of drinking & being goofy lol. My boyfriend got lost on the way up to the room & had to go alllll the way back down to the lobby to go to the other side where our room was because you can t go across the terrace floor.
Overall, the experience was great & I would go back but they need to lower their prices & have deals with somethings in the hotel.

Incomprehensible for a Hyatt Regency; Although the welcome is perfect, the cleanliness is questionable, from the elevator, to the finger stains in the windows, to 1/4 of dust on the furniture in the hallways, one wonders if the butler is on vacation!!! The food in his restaurant is awful. I ordered a Crab Soup; a starch or flour broth topped with a piece of crab. the lobster Mac and Cheese, the spotlight meal of the improvisational horror; dried tomatoes included in the dish mixed to the taste of cheese phew .. a hotel that deserves a 3 star at most.

We had a a two bedroom suite which fit 6 people comfortably unless you were the ones on the pull out couch. You could feel the Springs in the mattress with every move you made. The carpets could also use a shampoo. There were lots of stains.

The view is the top reason to stay here! It was fabulous!! The pool was also great, great views from the deck and the pool staff was friendly and attentive. Drinks and food at the pool bar were good.

Our Sky Terrace room was amazing. Gulf view, huge terrace, nice suite. AC was buggy in the living area and it was hot most of the stay, but the bedroom stayed cool and we were on the terrace a majority of the time. It's spendy, but the view was worth it! They addressed the AC issue so 5 stars from me

After a grueling day of Travel this was the oasis we needed. The food was prepared to the standards you would expect from a Hyatt of this caliber and the staff was great. The manager Micah was quite the host.

I met with family that was staying here, and I was honestly embarrassed that they had so many negative things straight away to deal with. Picture broken furniture, dirty kitchen, broken appliances, filthy air filters: stuff that should never be a problem when routine maintenance is being done. Perhaps they think they can get away with it because of the great location. Food at Shor was disappointing, too. A poor cut of steak cooked incorrectly, poor drink service, etc. I wouldn't personally stay here.
