Where to start... I am not one to complain but this is by far the worst experience I've ever had. Food took over an hour medium steak came out completely raw in the middle everything fried tasted like it was in year old oil and just burnt. My shrimp scampi was way over cooked. Then they charged us double because they rang up the wrong ticket! Gave our card to another party. And then refunded it and recharged it. And STILL GAVE US ANOTHER PERSONS DAMN CARD!

This is the real deal of great service and outstanding traditional steak house restaurant. We had a 30 plus group and had timely service and steaks and prime rib that were cooked to perfection. You should make this place a destination.

Decided on a whim to return to Hunter Steakhouse for some chow. Pretty sure it was early '80s my first time there.
Seated quickly, and provided Bread & Water immediately..(sounds funny, bread & water, okay nevermind my wit.)
Torn between the fresh catch of the day (Halibut) and my goto steak...Filet Mignon!
Steak it is. Went with steak and vegetable medly...
Chose side sala with oil and vinegar....love how they bring out the salad "bar" to table to prepare it for you, many options in circle to "yay or nay). So salad is exactly as you want it....Myself, when at onions, i said all of them...i call it the Divorce amount of onions, hehe).
Steak cooked exactly the way i wanted, and asked and recieved the medley lightly cooked. (Swear i am not high maintenance). Cannot eat steak without horse radish (cream & raw...don't go there! Hah)
Anyhoo, i recommend a chow trip here!

We were visiting from out of town. I used to live in San Diego and went to this restaurant years ago. Since we were staying in Mission Valley we gave this place a try as we wanted to order from a local steakhouse. Did NOT disappoint. The steak was awesome, the ribs were very tender, the crab stuffed mushrooms were really good, the salads were great, the mushrooms and onions and the sides were good as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant as not only was the food great but the customer service was great as well! Definitely will be back the next time we are in town.

I give 5 stars to a restaurant when they exceed my expectations and I look forward to returning. I was at a nearby hotel and craving a Caesar Salad with Salmon. I usually go to a steakhouse for this meal because they usually know how to perfectly cook they few fish items they have on the menu. Unknowingly, I sat at the bar during happy hour and enjoyed a couple glasses of fantastic wine at happy hour price. I was disappointed not to see a Caesar salad on the menu, but the bartender said it was no problem. I really enjoyed this place and the old steakhouse feel with the bar in the basement. I would recommend adding Caesar salad with steak, chicken, shrimp or salmon to your menu so it was well known that you offer it. Business people often try to eat healthy when travelling and this is a go to menu item for me. Keep up the great work!!

Thank you Melanie for great service! Food was delicious.
Had the chicken, shrimp and steak sampler.
Peppercorn steak was cooked just the way I like it. Liked the salad bar at the table and service was great.
Will be back soon!

We had dinner here for Restaurant Week. What a hidden gem. The food was delicious. We had four courses. The service was excellent. The table side salad bar is such fun. I had salmon and the others had steak. Everything was very good. The potato skin appetizers would be something I would do again.

This is a wonderful place with a great staff and the food was delicious! I had a filet and prawns which were cooked to perfection. My husband had a whiskey tip sirloin and my son had a sirloin and cheese cake for dessert! The steaks were like cutting butter with a knife! Pricing was very reasonable.

Best steak I've ever had! And I've had like 5 steaks at a restaurant. Staff is also very friendly and helped me make the right decision on the steak. Also the salad rules with that round thing they got.

The caesar salad dressing was inedibly bad, and the server never checked back with me, so I was stuck with it. The rare prime rib was dry. (Not sure how they managed that.) It was most disappointing, since this used to be one of my favorite places for prime rib. Not going back.

Great hideaway to enjoy a nice steak. Big enough for two people to share. Old world charm, basement has an old fireplace. Reminded me of dates I went on back in the 1970s. Service very good
