My boyfriend and I enjoyed steaks at an affordable price. They're selection of wine paired nicely with the Woodbridge, Cabernet Sauvignon from California. They're cakes could use some improvement. Overall, the service and the food were worth it.

As usual. No, better than usual especially on as busy a night as Thanksgiving! Our server, Lennon, was as gracious and attentive as he could possibly be. We had to wait a little bit in the bar, and the server there, Jeremy, was equally attentive and adaptive to the fact that we were just waiting there to be served and have a drink. VERY very nice, both of them and the bus boy whose name I didn't get right on the spot ask before he picked up your dishes really good.

The food: the table side salad bar just excellent and just what I wanted. Others at the table, including children, wanted different ingredients. Lennon created gorgeous salads on the Fly! Amazing!! The appetizer was the stuffed mushrooms, several of us discussed who was going to get to lick the plate. The prime rib was prepared to perfection which is not so easy when what you want is blood rare. The horseradish sauce was creamy, delicious and hot. I'm pretty sure my grandfather's sinuses are clear. Cranberry sauce very Tangy and really delicious, a surprise.
There's an entirely different atmosphere there now then there was the last time I was there and this is on an exceedingly busy night. How we're two servers were right on time for everything even with hundreds and hundreds of customers in the house. Thank you very much!!

Not the best example of service or quality.

Not the best example of service or quality.
Apparently you don't need knives with a starter. And asking 3 times for water is not too many times. The sweet tray was flashed in front of us before being whisked away.

I came in to pick up an order that was sent in long before I arrived, it was suppose to be done about 715 ,please tell me why I didn't get the order until about 755pm.... really? So I came in and asked the hostess how long it would be she says let her go and check , she returns and doesn't even make an effort to let me know the verdict lol I had to go up to her and ask, again. Oh, just a few more minutes- that was her response , at this point I'm becoming annoyed. I Sat there for 40+ mins when another hostess sees me stands and with an attitude says , oh I'll check again ok. I'm sorry but this is just bad very very bad customer service. Oh and believe me I was watching them
Interact with other customers , rolling their eyes and making jokes about the customers - really sad.
I had to GET OUT! I was so thankful when the food FINALLY ARRIVED !! Never again! The one star is a tip!

Overall, I think that this restaurant is overprice...

Overall, I think that this restaurant is overpriced. It appears to be trying to be a fancy steakhouse (judging by the prices on the menu) but the ambience, service, and quality don't really match. My wife and I visited for a date night because this is supposed to be one of the finest steakhouses in San Diego. However, I've had better steak with better service in a better atmosphere at the same or cheaper price at other places in San Diego.

The layout and arrangement of the restaurant is not quiet or intimate, making it a less than ideal date night. My wife and I had to raise our voices to hear each other across the table. The lighting is too bright and too harsh (needs more amber, less blue, and more lights at lower intensity better distributed). The decor is dated. Perhaps they are going for a more rustic vibe, like a steakhouse in the country, but that doesn't really match the rest of what it seems like they are going for.

The service is more akin to a decent restaurant rather than fine dining. Service wasn't terribly disappointing, but it lacked that extra level of panache that one expects while paying $30+ per entree. Our waiter seemed rushed and inattentive. Our meal lacked the pacing that I want in a gourmet meal.

The wine list was quite underwhelming. It was relatively short and dominated by the large commercial wineries. There were several options for cheap and unpalatable wine priced well into the $20 and $30 range.
There were few fine wine options, and they were exceedingly expensive. If I went back here, I would definitely bring my own bottle and pay whatever the corkage fee is.

My caesar salad was run-of-the-mill. Croutons were the same as the cheap ones from my local grocery, and dressing also seemed likely to be store-bought rather than made in house.

The prime rib was well cooked and tasty! This is apparently the house specialty, and they do a good job with it. However, one excellent dish does not redeem the overall experience for me.

The steak that I ordered, Steak Neil, was a New York strip with mushrooms, onions, and blue cheese on top. It was supposed to come with hollandaise sauce, but that was not delivered with the steak. When I brought this up, our waiter brought me some, but it was at least five minutes after I had started eating my steak. The steak was cooked appropriately (medium rare as requested), but was poorly trimmed and somewhat tough. The onions and mushrooms on top seemed overcooked and slightly burnt to me, though to be fair I prefer my vegetables somewhat undercooked by most people's standards.

The dessert options were advertised as "made in house". That is likely true, but that does not mean that they have a pastry chef on hand every day. The desserts were clearly made several days in advance (likely once a week) and refrigerated until a minute before delivery to the table. The crust on our turtle cheesecake had dried out and gotten tough from being refrigerated. The forks served with it were warm from the dishwasher, a tell-tale indicator of being short-staffed, in my experience.

For 1/2 to 2/3 of the price, I would consider eating at this restaurant again, but I would bring my own wine. For the price as it is, I can't justify eating here. The service, quality, and ambiance simply do not live up to my expectations for a $120 meal for two. For that price, I can have a much nicer date night with my wife at other locations in San Diego.

The service was good, liked the table side salad (they make the salad in front of you with what you want on it). It is more expensive than we are used to, we love Texas Roadhouse, $20 is the minimum for a steak. The reviews on the prime rib are all dead on, excellent. The top sirloin at medium was good, any more done than that and it is too chewy.

Good service and good tasting food. Hated the ambiance but it was no fault of the establishment. There were 3 men having lunch, talking very loudly and cursing like inmates. Everyone could hear them yet no one attempted to ask them to curtail this behavior. Sad that we had to endure this with our 13yr old daughter in what would have otherwise been an enjoyable meal experience.

We were looking for something that had seafood and steak for reasonable prices. We found fabulous food and reasonable prices. The house salad is madeasy at your table, the crab stuffed mushrooms were great. The salmon is to die for. We had so much food I had to take most of the salmon home and my husband had to take most of his ribeye. Casual yet elegant, definitely worth it.

Very basic food . Hardly no flavor. Needs to be updated! It was lunchtime and barely no one there , I figured I would get fast service, but the girl didn t even bother to check up on me . Took forever to get my food, very slow! I should have known better by looking at the parking lot. No cars , listen learned!

Went for Happy Hour. Drinks are average and well priced. The calamari was fantastic. Nice old fashioned wood paneled bar area. Great place to catch up with friends. Not too crowded or loud and nobody tries to rush you out or order more drinks.

Classic old school steakhouse. Steaks were cooked to perfection. We had a group of 8 and service was outstanding, all meals arrived together. Good cocktails and wine selection. Tableside salad bar was great! Price point is very reasonable almost every entree is well below $30. Will definitely return.

Every time I come here I get out more then satisfied. I always get my rib eye, it's cooked just the way I like it. They have excellent options on side dishes. Try fried calamari for appetizer. Definitely one of my favorite steak houses in San Diego.

Not what I expected from a steakhouse -- "medium" cut of prime rib was "very well done" and over-seasoned. Service a little below what I'd expect too. This USED to be a favorite place in San Diego.

Came here for restaurant week, sirloin steak w/ vegetables, shrimp cocktail for a very reasonable price. Steak was well done, however taste wise (not sure if special deal played a part in quality) was 7/10. Dessert, cocktail was great, we were greeted and served 10/10. I'd still recommend this place

I have been to this place many times and it used to be good. Now I must advise one to seek another place, unless you do not mind paying for an entree that is undercooked and leaves you hungry. Do not bring a child that requires a high chair because the hostess will tell you they only have booster seats. The restaurant looks cozy with a fireplace yet the temperature of the room was cold. I informed both wait staff and host staff about temp and conditions of the meal. Neither one really seemed to care. Again, this place used to be good food, good service and good environment. Something has changed and San Diego has many other restaurants. I recommend you find another place.

Only reason I gave it 2 stars because the croquettes were amazing! The steaks were terrible. My wife's steak was raw they took it back and brought back the same steak and it tasted burnt but still under cooked.

EDIT: I got food poisoning from the shrimp pasta. Disgusting. My rating is now a 1 star.

Service was eh, could have been checked on more. Our 28$ Prime rib was dry, shrimp linguini scampi tasted lacking in something and shrimp was way overcooked.

The most interesting part was how we waited about 10 minutes for our waitress to come after we were seated. I didn't care too much at the time, but shortly before we finished the (apparent) owner/manager came out and shook hands with a man and his wife. They sat and already had bread on the table and the waitress was there immediately. That kind of service should be presented to everyone, not just friends. Seemed odd to let customers see a discrepancy in treatment like that.
