Humphrey's (Den Haag) Review

Finally a decent place in this part of the beach, worth the money for the view alone, food is pretty good.

Long waiting time despite 50% utilization. No fish and chips. No prosecco. However, good food.

In terms of quality and service, this location cannot match the older brother in the Molenstraat in The Hague. Good luck.

Humphrey's in Scheveningen is a very nice restaurant with friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. The quality of the food is excellent. We were here for lunch with old schoolmates, period 1951-1957, from the Dalton The Hague.

Good tasty dishes in a beautiful location on the boulevard. Also very central near the theater, casino and biiscope, sealife and crazy pianos. Tastefully decorated. The round 2 person tables are a bit on the small side. Great view and very nice terrace. Very tasty eaten for little money a 3-course menu. You can order the side dishes for free. The sandwich in advance is also from the house. Young, friendly staff. Recommended!

It was no longer possible to have a drink at 10 am due to the closing time. It is advised with 12 hours .. Staff is not flexible at all.

Loved the view and food but the service was terrible

1 star for the location. You can forget about the service, because it is not there. The staff is extremely uninterested, and it seems to me that it is apparently more important to focus on other things than to talk to customers in a hospitable way. Wait 20 minutes for a cappuccino after I asked twice. When it finally arrived, it had landed on the saucer. Of course I had to ask for napkins, since they themselves were not aware that this was not the intention. Quickly left again!

Very poor service, and worst than any other Humphrey s in different city.
Ordered drinks and they asked 2more times if I want to order. And then 40min later they comeback and say coffee is op. What s worse they provided meal with different bread that I ordered but waiter never apologize and just say it is same price . I ve been to other Humphrey s and I liked my experience at others so actually was very glad to have Humphrey s in Den haag. But this is way worse than expected. You would experience very poor quality of service even they are not understaffed. This was also same experience for other customer next to us.

Nice new restaurant, excellent location with nice view. Interior and outdoor seating are beautifully decorated. Definitely worth a visit in Scheveningen!

Food was ok. Very rude service. We ate here with a large group. Two of the group only received their food when the rest were almost finished with their food.

Food is ok but portions are really too small. The drinks are really too expensive. 6 euros for a bottom of wine is really way too much! We were here on Boxing Day, but the menu was too little "Christmas".

Far too expensive and service doesn't fit either ...

Breakfast for 37 euros. Each person had "scrambled eggs" consisting of an egg and a slice of toast. A mini croissant and yoghurt "with fruit" ie p.p. 1/2 kiwi 1 raspberry and 1 blackberry ^^ as the only guests with 3 service people present, we still spent an hour there for this miserable breakfast performance. For all allergy sufferers: Of course, questions cannot be answered by the staff before ordering. 1 point for prospect and at least passable knowledge of English ...

Why not more stars. Well first of all the taste of the food was good, but the amount compared to the price was quite on the low side. Took a glass of milk and a two shrimp croquettes on bread. They ask 3.50 for that glass of milk. Sorry that makes no sense. Then those croquettes or call it croquettes, were mini and also got only 1 slice of bread and that for 9.50. Normally somewhere else this is mentioned but this was not enough for lunch. No nice price for dinner but that they compensate with the prices for a lunch dish. They no longer see me here with these prices and small portions.

The restaurant looks nice and has a fantastic view of the sea. Unfortunately a long wait for bread, goat cheese and bread with 2 croquettes, while it was not busy. I myself had expected 2 sandwiches and 2 croquettes and some mustard, but unfortunately I got 1 sandwich and a piece of my glass was broken. I think the prices are quite high for what we got.

We will definitely come back here! What a wonderful atmosphere here. Incredibly attractive terrace, great view, but also very tasty food and we haven't even mentioned the staff.

We have been helped by several people and you can really see that they have selected their staff on customer friendliness, because they were very nice 1 by 1.

I myself have various intolerances, which meant that the dish had to be adjusted considerably, but that was no problem at all. And what I appreciate: people think along about what you can / cannot eat. They really try to give an alternative. And I succeeded because I had a delicious meal! Unfortunately, I often do not see this customer-friendliness.

Disappointing experience. In a half-full restaurant with enough staff, I waited 45 minutes for two drinks. The ticket machine was broken. That can happen of course, apologies were made quickly and it was resolved. Then ordered a drink board, still 45 minutes later still not received. Reported to the ministry, nothing was done with it. Response was simply "okay." At checkout there were all kinds of drinks on the receipt that we had not consumed. All in all, not worth repeating.

The food was very good, nice location, beautiful interior. When we entered, we had to stay and wait for a few minutes for somebody to greet us and to show us the table but nobody came up even though the restaurant was 1/4 full. Then we took a table ourselves, it was empty, no reservation signs. Again no attention. Several personnel members looked at us but nobody came up. After about 10min we finally got our attention but we're told the table was reserved for later... Very nice! Same happened to the table next to us. After about 15-20min of waiting, the group of people left the restaurant. Not very well organized. I would actually give a very poor rating for the service. If it's so bad in a low season, what to expect in summer or so. But the good was nice and the atmosphere as well. Dear management, please train your staff a bit otherwise clients will not want to come back

There was a well-arranged allergen menu and the service remembered well who was suffering from gluten. Furthermore, very tasty and quickly eaten.

Great view, delicious food! Again any time! In the evening we had partly 3-course menu (30 ), others had only one main course (18 ). The food was very good, the price-performance ratio was good or including the great view very good! The staff was always very friendly, but it was also very busy, since during the week.

We had a delicious breakfast at Humphrey's. Good food, good service and a great view of the sun, wind, waves & rain! There was a striking rainbow over the pier for a while too. Being one level above the promenade really does elevate the view from Humphrey's. I look forward to trying the terrace in better weather.
