We came to Humboldt Farm, Fish, Wine for Sunday night dinner. It was a good day to celebrate with both my UW Huskies and Humboldt Farm, Fish, Wine winning football games this weekend! We found Humboldt Farm, Fish, Wine
via of course. Its definitely a small, neighborhood gem on Denver, CO College Ave thats part restaurant and part bar. The cooked seafood entrees excels in both quality and quantity here, so 4.5 stars rounding up to 5.

I came here with my father for Thanskgiving. Humboldt had a pre set menu for the holiday - salmon or turkey. Not only was the food dry, cold, and abysmally put together, the service was atrocious. We sat beside a door the waiter promised us was "never opened." Not even 5 minutes before another staff member walked right through that door, letting the cold, Denver air in. We requested to move tables and the staff begrudgingly obliged. They practically threw our cutlery on the next table and walked away. I will never come back here.

Overall, we had a good time at this place. The ambiance is nice and I like the decor. Let me break down the evening.

Tall late 20's server with brown-haired comb over took a very long time to finally take our drink order, but was nice enough to let us know he would need a bit more time. I got the vibe from him that he didn't really care he was taking forever.

Brussel Sprouts and Truffle Fries were amazing.

Fish and Chips were good but I didn't even finish my Cod because..well..it was a bit chewy. Server basically made fun of my friends and I for ordering the same thing.

I'm not sure I would come back but I did have a good time. Could have been a bit better.

My wife and I came to Denver to go to a concert and wanted to try somewhere new, she picked this restaurant because I love Seafood. Upon our arrival we were greeted happily by the greater and seated in a gorgeous section. We received the server Charles who was positively amazing he gave us ample time to enjoy the ambiance and the menu and he took even more time to explain certain menu items to us. The drinks were absolutely amazing and even though my wife and I were ordering different drinks (she ordered on the happy hour menu, I didn't) so he made sure we were aware of the differences which was fine it didnt change anything. The meal was absolutely DELICIOUS, there's very few restaurants we've been to that we've eaten EVERYTHING on the plate. We ate an appetizer the spicy calamari which was absolutely new to me but amazing. I had the mustard salamon with sweet potatoes and fried, my wife had the beef with truffle fries and mashed potatoes. Every morsel was devoured and actually left us wanting more. The experience was amazing and we can't wait to go back and enjoy Jazz Saturdays.

2 Stars for the service. We made reservations for Sunday evening for 6:30. We did not get seated for 40 minutes!!!!! Unbelievable! On top of that, our server was extremely slow. He would check up on us as little as possible. We watched him in the restaurant, no sense of urgency whatso ever! We were all very disappointed. Dinner should not take 3 hours.

Can't wait to come back and visit.

Good, clean food with high quality ingredients. Easy for gluten free. I always feel great after a meal here. Recommendations for GF: trout dip, ahi salad, and tuna steak frites. A bit pricey, but that's just how Denver is for decent food right now, unfortunately.

Impressive food taste and customer service. This food house has delicious American foods and seafoods. People make a crowd here to get their favorite snack. Special items are Crispy Brocolli, Braised Short Rib, Humboldt Burger, Risotto, Filet Mignon, and Caesar Salad.

Unfortunately I have to say that the food was sub-par and the prices were not worth the quality of the food. Our fish was burnt. My steak was cold and the risotto was just gross. Only two upsides: The clam chowder and the valet service. If you want good food, this is not the place.

Farm fresh eating doesn't get much better than this! Wonderfully delicious breakfast and brunch options make it a great spot for Sunday brunch. Bottomless mimosas are also a plus, and the staff are super friendly and generous. Highly recommend for a more upscale, yet casual morning!

Great spot for brunch! Mimosas are good and food is always spot on. Could refresh the brunch menu a bit more often but they've got solid options. Restaurant has a nice vibe and is never too crowded.

Experience, food and service was great. We had the soups (Clam Chowder and French Onion), small plates (roasted beets, gnocchi, roasted vegetables and mussels). It was a two and a half hour night but we were not in any hurry.

Humboldt subscribes to the increasingly popular farm-to-table movement. The menu comes complete with a separate card describing the restaurant's sourcing philosophy. The preparation, presentation, and service was pleasantly unpretentious. The quality of the courses--from appetizer to dessert--was superb. Highly recommend.

We went here for restaurant week and it was great! Really satisfied with our choices to include the drinks! A little cozy at the two top but was a great time.

Would recommend the trout dip as well as the braised beef, an odd choice for a fish place but it fell right apart and was super.

Desserts were a tad cliche/predictable, I think every restaurant in Denver served a flourless chocolate torte that week. Definitely looking forward to a repeat.

A Humboldt Happy Hour is the happiest of hours.

A Humboldt Happy Hour is the happiest of hours.

Just gonna jump right in and talk about those shrimp tacos, which I could basically eat about 3-4 orders of easily. Humboldt offers a super sweet Happy Hour with $5 and $7 small plates, including the shrimp tacos which comes with 2 tacos topped with avocado, pickled onions, and delicious spicy aioli. Mussels, sliders, and wings are also featured on the Happy Hour menu. Happy Hour is every single day from 3-6pm. They also have $5 and $7 cocktails and wines, and $4 beers.

Now onto more food... I had the tuna tartare, which was absolutely delicious. I do wish there was more tuna on it, though. Aside from the tuna tartare, my friend and I decided to share multiple small plates, including the barrata with apple chutney and the she crab soup. I'm a big fan of the soup. The menu rotates in and out a few items seasonally, as well.

Atmosphere is perfect for date night, girl's night, and happy hour with friends. There are multiple charming seating areas, including a little clear-roofed outdoor area in the back with cute lights. Service was very friendly. I was in the mood for a mocktail that night, and I left it up to the bartender to make me a surprise, which turned out be a really delicious ginger punch that matched the color of my shirt! How fun, I'd love another ginger punch next time.

Gluten-free items are very clearly labelled, which I always appreciate (husband is gluten-free). I will be back with my husband next time!

Went here for my birthday. First time we tried going, we tried to go with my daughter, but they would not let us in. It was 6:30 on a Thursday and while there were definitely a lot of people, it was not full; however, they claimed to be completely full until 9:30 pm. We came back the next day at the same time without our daughter and they immediately made space for us. Service was actually pretty solid and our drinks were amazing but my meal (fish) was so dry as to be barely edible. Server made no comments on me finishing less than half of the fish. I was hoping for a much better experience judging by the reviews, but it looks like they're mostly hype.

Service was not at all attentive. I wasn't helped by the same person more than once. A constant rotation of people giving no individualized attention. Poor service, but at least the salad is good.

Love, love, loved this restaurant! I find some but I was treated like a VIP! The food, outstanding, service excellent. My server, Brandon, told about the daily specials, he was helpful in my cocktail order as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who comes to Denver! I know I'll tell all my friend!!

I'm just not a fan of this place. The food was tasty, the waiter was good, wasn't too long of a wait but there was something very off to me. I'm going to be honest but I think I had higher expectations based on other reviews and when I went in it was much more, average joe, than I expected. The food although good didn't really wow me at all and for what you are paying for I feel like they could have done better, from menu selection to presentation. Also I ordered a cocktail, side car. I essentially got an old fashioned and when I asked if they made a mistake I was told that no, I had gotten a side car. I may be over critical, but I just can't bring myself to go back there. It would seem others had a much better experience that may be more indicative of this spot but not me.

Wow! Excellent service and damned good tacos. It's our first time and we were initially turned off by what seemed to be limited choices. So glad we stayed, the pork, fish, and shrimp tacos were great!

I swear, my single favorite food ever is the broccoli at this place. Trust me, it's absolutely amazing, but that's only an appetizer on a really great menu. Their fish is some of the best around, and they have just as awesome chicken and a burger that's actually incredible (they use sweet onion jam).

Another thing I ordered a pasta and didn't know it was spicy, and I hate spicy , they were so polite and changed my meal with no issues which is suprised me a lot. This is the best service so far !
You should definitely visit this restaurant)

Generally good food (the times I have eaten there), HOWEVER; if you have a vegetarian in your party DO NOT bother taking them to this restaurant. I called as I wanted to ensure that they would make something for my brother who is a vegetarian and got a response that he could only have Salad and the other small plates that were already vegetarian. There was no effort to be accommodating or ensure that he would have a great meal at their restaurant. This is unbelievable in our young city where so many dinners are vegetarians and vegans. Due to this I will not be taking my family there as I was hoping to while they are visiting this week. Hoped for a great meal but never even got the chance to see what they could do.

Took a while to get initially greeted by our server, who then seemed annoyed by us asking for a server. The food came out quickly and was pretty tasty. We order the pancakes and chilaquilles. As we left and walked passed two hostesses, they stepped aside yet neither said thank you or goodbye which just seems like common etiquette. Overall the attitude of the staff is not very welcoming but the food kind of made up for it.

This is a perfect place for a Colorado summer night. We sat outside and it was lovely. I had a pasta and shrimp dish which was delicious! It had a creamy base with parmesan, peas, bacon and shrimp. Excellent flavor with a touch of spicy.(but not too spicy, just lightly spicy)

I'm not sure I'll be back. I know it's Restaurant Week and all, but this food was sub-par at best. Good service for the most part.

The oysters offered when we arrived out to be delicious but they came out at the exact same time as our apps did which is fine but it made the table a bit more crowded. I think our apps were the best part of the meal because it went downhill from there. I had the strawberry salad (it was bland, nearly flavorless, and I didn't even finish it) and my husband had the trout dip (surprisingly delicious, no compliments or complaints).

Moving on to our entree my husband had the steak diane and I had the half chicken. I read some reviews about inconsistent portions and presentations, sadly they were true. My husband's steak was small, undercooked (he asked for medium and got rare), and lacking in portion size (ie the potatoes that were served under the steak were next to nill). Which brings me to my comical "half chicken" and what I got was far from that. More like half of a half of a chicken soaking in greasy fatty au jus (worst au jus I've ever had) and quite literally ONE quarter sized piece of overcooked mushy squash. Actually, I take that back. I discovered a total of three mushy pieces of squash, but the other two had disintegrated. The chicken was overcooked and over salted. I hated it and the crummy au jus that came with it. Again, I did not finish my plate. (The waiter never caught on to this but then it occurred to me that I was sitting in a sea of stick figures and they were probably used to gals picking at their food).

On to dessert! This should have been the best part but like I had the meal went downhill from the get. My husband had the salted caramel ice cream and I had the strawberry peach crumble. Again with the weird portion sizes! I get a mound of dessert and my husband gets a taste. So strange. His tasted okay. Mine was awful. They put ZERO sugar into the crisp and the crumble on top was so hard I thought I was going to crack a tooth.

I can't say we'll be back to try the regular menu. Especially being we spent $130 (tip included) during Restaurant Week for the awful meal we were given last night.

Sad and disappointing.

There's a reason this establishment has been around for a long time, it's because it is AMAZING! I've only heard great things about it so my sister and I decided to give it a try when we were in the city.
Humboldt Farm, Fish, Wine
Making a reservation was super easy because you can do it on Humboldt Farm, Fish, Wine. We went right when lunch started. Perfect time as it wasn't too crowded and there were a few other people there as well. The ambiance is great. Very casual but has an upscale feel.

Truly one of the best restaurants in Denver. The combination of excellent quality and original menu items, with the casual elegance that screams Denver's unique style makes this a "can't miss". Fancy business dinner, first date, or just stopping in for a quick drink? This spot is great for all of them. And if the weather is nice, you can't beat the patio.

Food was prepared well and tasted very good. Standout was the Ahi tuna poke appetizer, which was sort of a deconstructed tuna roll. Oysters were good and steak was prepared well. The steak did come with a type of bearnaise sauce that was tasted, and then moved to the side. Seemed to be too much for the steak. Halibut was perfectly done, not dry and very flavorful. Good wine list, but need to use the right glass for the wine. Dessert was a great strawberry shortcake. No shortcuts taken with the food. Charles, our waiter was also a hit- 5th star is for him! We will definitely be back.

Okay at best. For having wine in them name of your restaurant I was expecting more than bottles I can get for $4-7 dollars at the local liquor store. Food was like a early 2000s corporate dining restaurant, if you are into that.

This place always delivers a good meal! The brussel sprouts are usually great, but ours were a bit over sauced. The salmon, short rib, fish sandwich, dinner salads are all great choices. Make a reservation to avoid the wait. Happy hour here is a great deal for delicious food and drinks.

We had an amazing spur of the moment dinner here last night. The oysters and mussels were mind-blowingly good (ask for the white wine sauce... heaven) and they served what could possibly be the best Brussels sprouts in the world.

Very welcoming, friendly staff, five stars all around. I wish we lived in Denver so we could come here more often!

Had a wonderful experience here. We had Chris as our server and bartender and he was amazing! Kept us laughing and still was on his game. Mixed up a few of his own concoctions that we loved. Aside from that, the food was delicious. Just a note, the scallops do have a bacon crumble on top which is not listed on the menu. I found out once the food was brought out to me but the manager came and we got it all squared away. Everyone seemed very nice. Prices were reasonable and atmosphere is very laid back. They have outside seating and inside seating.

Great decor and polite and efficient staff great you when you walk into Humboldt farm and wine on Humboldt St and 17th St in Denver. They serve a delicious mix of continental inspired foods. From steak frites to whole roasted fish, the selection of wonderfully prepared foods are enough to keep one vomming back after their first visit. Add to that a full bar, and a small but delightfully selected wine list, pairs with every meal.

Come and enjoy and take in the patio!
