The workers do a great job caring for the animals, but it is difficult to adopt. If you have children or other animals, don t bother. I had a hard time adopting a young cat because of having a young child. I insisted that was the cat we wanted. The cat is absolutely awesome with my daughter, but they didn t want us to adopt him

The Humane Society for Greater Nasha helps all our furry friends that we all love so much. Thank God we have kind loving people that care for these animals everyday. I just recently went to a nice gathering for donations for all the animals. I was amazed to see the community come together. Thank you for what you do!
The Humane Society is filled with volunteers to take care of creatures that are abandoned or homeless. They are helpful and creative with their fundraising. Please consider adoption from them or any shelter.
Adopted two kittens from here. They were so understanding about us bringing in our whole family to meet them, adhered to Covid guidelines, and let is take as long as we needed with our new adoptees. Their new parent packets are full of great coupons and information
This is s decent place to start looking for a pet...it's not the biggest, or fanciest, but we have had good luck here. We have adopted two of the best cats we have had from here. The fact you can visit, and hold the "free range" cats that are roaming in each area is a big plus for the cats and the people. Sure...some, even most csts are in cages, but the ones getting handled get to shine. The dog area is a bit different, especially since the dogs are lonely so they tend to be a bit hyper, but dog folks should be able to see through that and pick one. Other types of pets are also available at times Prices do vary based on the type of pet, and age , which is typical in most shelters.
Nice selection of dogs when I went, ended up adopting a nice 1 year old pup, staff is very friendly and we left with treats toys a bed treats and some food. I was able to walk her for 15 20 min out in there wooded path with my family and we fell in love..
Animals are well cared for.Staff attention may be more focused on animals than visitors -which is probably as it should be, as this is a shelter not a pet store. This could be a great opportunity for volunteers as they appear to be short staffed.
2 out of the 3 employees were very rude. My fiance even donated money and now she will never donate to this place again. We felt very unwelcome. We arrived around 1am 8/8/2020. There was a tall woman (very unfriendly) and a shorter older woman who went above and beyond rude. All my fiance and I wanted was a cat to call family. We will never return here. We have begun to search other venues.
We didn't get hardly any help from any of the volunteers here. Not sure if it's because we're young and they didn't think we were seriously looking but everyone seemed very rude and not concerned with us at all.
I arrived early as I wanted to be the first person to check out the dog I had seen on the web page the evening before. The receptionist was already there and when I mentioned I had not yet filled out an application, she immediately gave me one to complete. At opening time, I was met almost immediately with a staff person, and she introduced me to Cream, who after walking him and talking with the staff person in great detail about him, took him home.
Compared to other shelters I had visited, it was clean, the staff was very helpful, and responsive to the pets and the customers. I would recommend this shelter to anyone looking for a pet.
I had a very rude man attend to me while looking for a kitty. he might have animal skills, but has no people skills... I'm in sales all my life so I feel I'm a good judge of character, so that being said please someone teach him how to deal with people too in a professional manner.
Very sad with the lack of socializing these animals get and also the amount of time they are locked up behind cages. They say they care but it doesn't seem like do. Take a brush to some of these precious animals!
Awful place, arrogant and rude doctors and volunteers, not to mention the inside. It's always messy, and very disorganized. I had a very bad experience here. I recommend other places
Very disappointed in the care and how there s animals are kept. The cats don t get brushed all matted . One cat hat a million ants in his food ! I asked if someone could clean it . They were very rude to me !!!!! I have donated here before. NO MORE!!!!! I asked the CEO to call me Douglas Barry , No response Unprofessional Go somewhere else
We got a dog here, and the prices are reasonable considering what they include- vaccines, dog bed, leash, neutering, deworming, etc. They even set us up for the first vet visit free! It did take a while to find a dog because they would be in and out in a couple days. Some people working there are more realistic than others when it comes to real world schedules. All in all one we found the right person to work with, we were really happy with this place!
Some of the prices for older animals is crazy here. Some old dogs cost more than a private sale. I hate to see animals left behind over money. But other than that. They care a lot for these animals from what I've seen.
Found staff less then friendly. The place seemed to be in disarray and didn't smell very good. I feel sorry and concerned for the care of the few dogs that were there.
My daughters grandmother recently died in the most sudden, and horrific way possible. Soon after our family experienced a miscarriage. We decided to find an aninal for our daughter and family to give some of our unconditional love to. But when we called they were closed. So we raced up after soccer practice the next morning and waited in the parking lot for over 40 mins (which for a toddler is a lifetime). We saw people walk up to the door, so put her shoes on and headed in. They let the people at the door take the cat. Didnt offer to check their calls from the day before, didnt offer to check their cameras to see we had been waiting there all morning and essentially told us we should have stood in the rain a tr the door and waited (which I hadn't done assuming it was rude-having hated when patients did that at my office) We waited there for a while and they wouldn't even let us see the cat, so we left. I drove home feeling more empty than ever, and angry, honestly. And my toddler was ok until we got home with the empty carrier. I am so disappointed in how this was handled, I'm frustrated they didnt even acknowledge that we had driven all that way, and waited all that time. If I ran my chiropractic office like that- we wouldn't have a business. I understand disappointment happens, but this one was more than just a normal disappointment. It was disheartening to have done all the extra work and spent all the extra time, just to have someone pull in after wed been there for so long and swoop in with no one seeming to think that was wrong, and no one offering to help or listen to us. I know it sounds stupid, but this was painful and unfair, and I hope no one else has to go through this.
Heard what you guys just did to my friend and her daughter. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You know the more people you mistreat, the more people decide not to donate to you and that's what yall accomplished today.
Adopted our parakeet from here. It was so simple and everyone was so friendly. They even let us take him in his cage since it was smaller to travel with.
Wonderful caring staff. Just adopted a dog that had unfortunately been surrendered by its owner. Our dog was completely checked and treated by their veterinarian on site. The animal was exercised, well cared and profiled in detail to the best of their knowledge. During the application and screening process we jointly determined that this sweet boy was a great fit for our family. Thank you to all the staff that made this adoption a great experience and success!
I have had two cats neutered there and the whole experience was really nice. The vet took excellent care of my babies. I can't remember her name but she was very genuine and caring. She gave my kitten a check up and antibiotic for free after he was neutered. I called and asked about redness around the incision. She told me to stop in later in the day and she took really good care of him.
I have always rescued my animals from here for over 20 years. My newest i adopted was last year at 11 years old. Cat. Jemini. She's the most loving cat
Horrible experience, me and my family went there to find a brother/sister to our current 2 year old dog. We brought our dog to meet his future sister, the staff member was extremely rude to us, also denying us to take the dog because our dog was not playing with the other dog. Which we could understand, but her manners and words were completely rude and uncalled for. We will not be returning there to adopt an animal. I wonder how many people leave without an animal because of these people atitude, if you dont have the love and patience to help others find an animal to take home and be loved, please do not volunteer. You are clearly on the way of these animals finding a loving home.
Came to look for a cat to adopt today, and had an unpleasant experience. One of the employees had terrible customer service. He had the attitude as if he didn't want to show us any animals. I wouldn't go back ever.
I have adopted here before and never was treated the way I was treated today. No one expects their schedules to be on target as you wish them to be. I told you upfront what our schedule was and still proceeded to introduce me to Ruth. I fully understand she was a young pup, but I had pups and adopted them before and had no issue rearranging my schedule to raise the pup. If your Manager had an issue with my situation then why even introduce me to the pup in the first place, but after you went and discussed things with your Manager you just up and took the pup away from while having our time together. Never in my time with having puppies have I had issue raising them and having them live long happy lives, well today you changed my thoughts about the Nashua Humane Society; I will no longer adopting from you people again and or donating anything to you ever.
The staff was very helpful when adopting our newest cat here. They asked all of our questions, and guided us through the whole process. We will definitely be adopting from here again!
This place is okay, but I once donated $100 and they seemed nice only because of the money, and now when I go and have nothing to donate and I just want to visit the staff seem annoyed and up in your face saying "Oh. Dont do that" or "Don't do this" and the place reeks of pee and isnt very clean, but they do take good care of their animals and make sure they go to good homes.
Awesome place, the staff are very dedicated to finding great homes for the animals, we adopted a fantastic dog and staff member Bruce was great to work with.
I didn'T totally enjoy this place because I didnt get to walk or meet a dog my family fell in love with because my siblings were too young. Dissapointed
This place is very clean! Staff is friendly and helpful with the adoption process. This is one of the few places in NH that does rescue for Sato dogs, and truly has an understanding of animals. The grounds are well kept, and it's was fun to see the chickens there! Website could be improved by uploading more pictures of the dogs available, rather than just one. Also some videos would be nice!
They are the best thank you very much for looking at are penny and giving her the shots that she needed, cant wait to bring in the other one also for tge sMe care shots , this is the place to go. Again thank you all
It was a wonderful experience! We had seen two dogs we were interested in, and we went with the thought of meeting them and possibly coming back to get one.
We got there and were warmly greeted, and we proceeded with the interview. We met Willa and decided to take her home with us. She is a beautiful doberman lab cross, who has had a rough time, and needs some love and attention.
The staff spent a good couple of hours with us, and we met the behavioral people, the vet, and a few others, all of whom were hoping to get Willa her forever home. We have had her over a week now, and she is a smart, sweet, friendly dog. We couldn't have hoped for a better outcome! Thanks to everyone! And thanks for your devotion to all the other animals who are hoping for a home.
I really had to update this because its warranted as they do such great work here. I got my tuxedo cat, Trooper from them and they could not have been any better. They love what they do and it shows. They gave me valuable information when I was picking him up. They told me to play with his paws all the time so that he gets used to it for when you have to clip his nails and I have to say it worked and to this day still does. I have 3 cats and the other two pull away when I touch theirs. Who knew, lol. Always gave my cats their "space" and I've have 8 cats since having my kids 33 years now.
