Nice intimate venues for gigs. 2 balconies with some seating in addition to main stalls area
Saw Tiana Major 9 perform her first sold out show! Excellent
Jazz/performance poetry eve -Fabulous. Great community spirit, venue and bar prices
Very good experience small but able to hear everything that was going on on the stage.
Came here to watch Dave gorman's work in progress show. Terrific atmospheric old venue.
Great old time music hall, fantastic atmosphere and worth a visit.
We went to see Twelfth Night in November
Put on by the Barefoot Theatre Company
Also a great venue for comedy
Clean place. Good sound. Nice but quite a small venue. 3 different tiers, ground floor then 2 levels above which surrounds the stage in a rectangle. Nice for smallish gigs
Magical little place ,great raised stage so easy to see the acts.Nice staff, bar could have been quicker when it was busy.Incredable time capsule of a lost London helped to create a special feel great night.Loved it
Amazing venue, intimate. Great view wherever you stand
Went to the Hammer Horror, The Souless Ones interactive theatre here. Interesting venue. I like the layout and the theatre itself is very atmospheric. I don't know if they got an external company to do the bar for this occasion but the cocktails were a bit on the too sweet to drink side. All in a a nice, cosy small scale place to watch something.
A brilliant, period venue with an intimate and friendly atmosphere.
You have got to see The Soulless Ones. Fantastic acting and superb characterisation for this Vampyre tale for Halloween - although great spooky experience for any time of the year! No photos allowed but managed to sneak this one! Go, go - great fun!
Lovely small venue with a great atmosphere. Went to see AJR in May 2019 and enjoyed myself throughly. Small venue but very intimate with the artists. Loved it!
Summer school for my daughter was absolutely fabulous and FREE (Donations welcomed). Freiendly staff and a beautiful theatre.
Lovely cosy space ~ some may feel a little too cosy. Great play Chasing Rainbows
Top tier community building, from Shows to half term workshops wow worth checking out!
Had a friends celebration at the venue. Old, outdated and in need of modernisation but a charming venue.
Nice and clean, friendly staff and plenty of kids activity s at half term
We have done a few event here now and the staff are faultless. So helpful and seem to be proud of their venue. The venue is a stunning space with lots of character. Pictured is just one of the events we have done here recently providing fairy lighting.
Saw The Soulless Ones - great production!!
Would definitely go back to other events
I love Jazz Verse Jukebox, there isn't another night like it in London
Beautiful building, great shows and friendly staff and a very cool and quirky bar
Not only are the staff always friendly here, but after the referb of the theatre it's even more gorgeous than it was before. It's the ultimate little theatre. Absolutely stunning.
Complete joke of a place. Couldn't get tickets delivered despite ordering 4+months in advance, told to turn up an hour before doors to collect. Turn up and then told they don't open till 30mins before doors. They eventually open at 20min to doors to collect. Actual doors then open to let the entire crowd in - not into the hall, but the hallway and bar. Basically sardining full capacity into a hallway. Genius move! Show started late and the seating was so tight that as my gf had a frankly 'fat' bloke next to her meant neither she or I could actually use our seats as intended. This left my back knackered by interval at which point I walked, allowing my gf to have the 1.5seats that we'd been allowed. Staff didn't care and were clearly disorganised from the off. This was my second gig here and will be my last
The lighting guy was the best operator I have ever seen in a small venue gig! Cavetown Gig
Nice medium spaced venue. It was kinda empty and band was less good than expected - so hard to judge the place itself
Great venue for smaller gigs. Great views from the upstairs seating area. Staff really lovely and had all the crowd processed through reception on arrival really quick.
We travelled from outside London so getting there was a real trek, 3 trains but the journey flowed with not much waiting around.
I went there to see the Jazz Verse Jukebox show. The venue is beautiful, the atmosphere there is truly amazing and the staff is really helpful and friendly.
On the "negative" side I would only say that a larger selection of drinks at the bar would make this venue just perfect.
A great venue for live bands. I saw Palace here and the sound was great, fast queue for bar and toilets and everyone smiling. Recommend
This is such a great place for kids to go for a summer scheme. The members of staff who look after the kids are well worth there weight in gold brilliant.
A cosy venue. Very small holds about 200 people. Really ornate interior. Great for intimate gigs or recordings. Real chairs to sit on. Photo shows how near the stage is.
A great theatre/music venue with a lot of charm. I was lucky enough to act on stage there myself for a week and the venue is truly amazing looking. Sound carries without an issue, so I imagine it is great to go there for music purposes. Lovely staff. I would love to revisit as an audience member and experience a concert of some sort.
A small, anthem concert hall. Nice courteous service
Highly interesting talk was given as part of Open House
Front of house looks cheap and wipe clean and when I was there the ticketing system was malfunctioning. Staff clearly have little to no training. Crucially the front of house area is not big enough to hold the aidoenxe, there is nowhere to sit down so it feels like you are being kettled. Overpriced bar with nothong on tap. Perhaps the most uncomfortable auditorium seating in all of London.
I have performed here with the most amazing drama company The Outside Edge. Phil Fox aka (to me) General Phloxy God rest your soul and thank you so much xxx ;-)
Amazingly preserved 19th century theatre. Great local panto.
Beautifully restored old dance hall. Loved the show and staff are friendly and helpful.
Great theatre for children's show Arabian Nights, small and intimate
Lovely place but the chairs are very close together
Lovely theatre went to see Ms paolini's phantasmagoria cabaret great show
Visit the theater last night and fell in love with the place! Really cozy atmosphere and the acting team was brilliant! An advantage is indeed to enjoy a good act in a small scale space - the connection actors/crowd was magical!
Nice evening out but, the heating was not turned on during that cold night
Interesting history. The building has recently been restored to it's original state
The venue is really amazing and cozy for small plays and just more for the crowd to be intimate with the artist thats performing...(Loved my time at the Amigo the Devil concert )
Amazing period music hall perfect for Hammer House of Horror - the Souless ones!
We went to see the the Arabian Nights and the performance was spectacular. But the locality is a little shady.. nothing to do with the place and the performance though
I'm so torn with this review. The comedy show i watched was a 10 out of 10 easily. However, the seating in the venue was awful. We were all packed in like sardines, virtually sitting one on top of the other and the chairs were clipped together. The bank of seats I was in had two big support beams at either end so I was unable to unclip my chairs as there was no more room. Beautiful venue quite historical in appearance, but terrible seating arrangements.
Significant place of Hoxton, of London. Generations of people. Modest from outside, it is very spacey inside. There are different plays and projects going on. Also, special programmes running during half term for kids, just need to sign on time for that and it's free!
A lovely quaint hall in the heart of Hoxton, Hoxton Hall is a small venue ideal for small audiences for intimate theatre and event productions.
The ground floor can hold up to 80 seated theatre style and there are two further floors of gallery style seating.
Situated on the main market Street surrounded by plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes.
very disappointing. booked to see Soulless Ones last Saturday. The late night performance was cancelled, which was a shame, but we were in the area so no big deal. Was promised a call back to arrange tickets for another day and nothing. I've emailed and called multiple times and nothing.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Panto, will be back next year.
The place was quite basic but an amazing pantomime with a lovely cast and fun
A great venue run by amazing people! Truly a hidden gem and a gaurentee of a good night out.
So much character.
I look forwards to visiting again on the next gig, or even better as member of the audience.. Very Beautifull Architecturally.
I never write review but I was so impressed I had to! Last night, we went to see Arabian Nights. We had never been to Hoxton Hall before and were very pleasantly surprised by the amicable staff, the cosy immersive production and the well propped stage. The actors were fantastic as was the production, please keep up the good work.
Great, place to visit or hire, easily accessible with easy access. Near local community college and market.
