Fun day with lots to see and do. Prices reasonable and a nice family option. It was close to 100 outside but they had lots of ac buildings and refreshments available and had ice treats and pools for animals to escape the heat. Can't wait to see what they are building next.

Very nice very clean very professional lots of air conditioned spot you can go in if you get overheated as usual the food prices and drinks word exorbitant and not worth the money to pay for them that you have to make some money as well so I guess this is how they do it.

I have been here twice with my little one , once during day to see zoo & later to see zoo lights. Zoo visit during day was awesome. They have various species of animals, they are well fed & taken care. Onsite food truck , shopping area & children play area makes your trip complete. They have private party area where you can host birthday party or corporate event. Zoo lights are average as compared to other places to see festival lights. Only plus is it is conveniently located when you compare with other places like magical Winter lights etc.

Love the zoo! We always have a good time. A membership is worth it. I have been 4 times with my son since moving here and still have not made it to see all the animals. They are always having events and special talks about the animals. I especially love the little shop in the kids area where kids can get hands on and explore nature and turn in things or reports they did to collect points! How cool!

Had a great time with my family, the Zoo is very well maintained, and you can bring your own food and drinks. They have great activities for children (Zoo Boo) now in the month of October. I love our Zoo, can't wait to go back :)

Such a great experience. I recommend feeding the giraffes it is $7 but worth it. If you do this take a video not pictures because the animals move too fast for a good photo. The earlier the better, once it gets too hot the animals become less active.

My family and I had a spectacular day@ the Houston zoo. It was very hot but with all the chill zones the Houston zoo has helped out a lot. I loved that the cafe had a nursery room. I usually have to nurse in the restroom,so thank you for that.

We recently visited to see the Zoo Lights. If you want to see the animals this is not the event for you but if you like Christmas lights then it is perfect.

Hot chocolate and lights to music. Some of the sections of lights looked like scene out of Alice in Wonderland. Definitely worth the price of admission.

Amazing zoo. We went for Zoo Boo and there were plenty of activities for the children. Many upgrades are in progress at the Houston Zoo so there is construction going on but it is always a delightful and fun outing for the entire family.

The Houston Zoo was great. It is a beautiful zoo and the best part is that the paths are covered by tall tree or covered pathways which is best especially helpful in the summer. Also, to combat the heat they also have plenty of air conditioned buildings (reptiles or aquarium) for patrons to walk into along the path. The sea lions were the best to watch. It was soooo hot that most of the animals were inside... away from the heat.
NOTE: If you become a member of The Zoological Society of your local zoo you will either get free entry or a discounted rate on tickets at other zoos

A great zoo unfourtunatley the lady doing the gorilla presentation is just rude and not a public speaker. Kept her back to us most of the time, could not hear her and she snapped when informed it was hard to hear her.

I've been coming here since I was a kid, and now I can take my kids here. This is a nice zoo. The monkeys were interacting with everyone and was definitely a sight to see. My complaint? The noisy helipad from the medical center has life flight going non stop. In our 4hrs there, we heard it extremely loud four times! Zero parking. It's impossible to find a parking spot. They need to improve and build a parking garage already! And the constant construction of the animal sites. Otherwise, we'll be back

The November weather was perfect. The animals were active. We packed a lunch, snacks and water which I'm thankful the zoo let's you bring in. We also brought a wagon to pull the kids around in. A lot of the decor was up for Zoo Lights which starts next week. That was added fun. The employees were all very nice and helpful. Bathrooms are clean.

Not a lot of space to walk and not bump into someone. All the land they have is being worked on and filling up with animals or plants. I didn't feel relaxed there, and I been coming here since 1984 when it was free. Now one person is $18. Beautiful scenery they had with ducks in the water next to the table's and pizza stop is dug up and being worked on for a plant area. Bring back the alligators I miss them.

We had a great time taking my 2 year old, even with the hot weather! It is nice to be able to stop at the splash pad and cool off and take a break. There was a lot of construction this time, but it didn't get in the way much.

Just a great place to go. The kids love going to see the animals and explore. The Zoo Lights in the Winter are gorgeous! There are also so many other events through out the year, like Zoo Boo. Getting the Family membership is really worth it!

One of the most beautiful attractions in Houston! The staff is so nice and friendly. It s worth doing the annual membership if you plan to go there often. Definitely recommended going with kids during the week if you d like avoid the crowd (especially if you d like to feed giraffes). Gloomy days are best to see animals roaming in their habitats.

we got to witness the kookaburra couple during a feeding session! the Male "caught" food and then brought it right over to the female! she was so happy, she held onto her snack as if displaying her gift! they then did they famous "laugh" in the excitement of the moment. I feel so lucky to be able to these guys do what they so!

Only complaint is they won t take just any student ID. They said that since Prairie View A&M isn t exactly in Houston I couldn t receive a discount. It s unfortunate since I ve been able to use my student ID in many other states and even small towns and it s always taken but a place as big as the Houston Zoo won t accept it? Hope this changes later on.

My kids love the zoo& had a great time this past weekend, the only trouble we had was with another rude visitor, that was verbally attacking my two Autistic sons in the bathroom area by the main entrance. As soon as I let an employee know, they notified their supervisors and had the matter taken care of, but overall I had a great time, and hope to never experience discrimination against my Autistic sons at the zoo.

The zoo will always have a place in my heart, prices are a little out there but with added attractions included in the price it makes it work it. I can go back to back days and always expect a new experience.

This is one of the best zoo on my list. Not only for kid's zoo inside but also lots of amazing animal like elephants and monkeys for children. I saw many people enjoy giraffe feeding but is is not free, and the zoo map is clear and easy to understand to navigate the park. Free parking with additional park outside, it is a decent place to spend a whole day at.
