As a video production professional who has had had the opportunity to work at Groove U as a video instructor, I really appreciate the institution's unique, career-focused, approach to education. Every instructor is a working professional in the fields in which they teach, so students are able to gain a practical understanding of the current realities of the industries they are being trained in. I'm proud to be a faculty member at Groove U, and I am excited about the opportunities we are able to provide for our students!

As a member of the first graduating class of GrooveU, I can honestly say attending this school was the best career decision I could have made. The classes go above and beyond to prepare you for managing your career in the music industry and the networking opportunities and valuable resume building experience you will gain during your time at the school is invaluable to your success in whatever field of music you choose to pursue.
Since graduating GrooveU with my degree in Music Business, I have worked with two national booking agencies (Last Hope Music, Mosaic Artistry Group) as their head of tour booking for artists across the country. Promoted shows with local venues under my own self-started company "Dilligent Promotions". (Which was set up, branded, and refined during my time at GrooveU. You begin building your career as soon as your time at GrooveU starts, not after you graduate like most traditional colleges believe). And am currently working as the head booking agent for Skullys Music Diner in Columbus, Ohio. I'm in charge of booking national and local artist shows at the venue while managing the production and coordination of the events.
GrooveU gave me the skill-set and networking connections needed to have success in the industry and excels at preparing their students for their career in music. Definitely worth checking out. 5/5 stars.

I love the people, love the classes, love the passion. I don't think I've ever seen a place where the instructors are as passionate as the students.
I think it's the best investment I've ever had.

Are you kidding me. This place is a joke. The owner is telling his students and future clients that this school is bigger and better than Berklee College of Music in Boston. He printed up some materials, pens and business cards and is selling this place at around $25,000 a year and for what??? Its not even a certified school. The owner has been known to side up with other students and call out on other students yet hes receiving $25K a year for what??? Google his background. Please don't waste your time. Go to a certified school or somewhere you will receive a real education and not some carnival certificate you get upon graduation. Ill be surprised if this place is still around anymore.
Also if you note... The owner had his family and friends post his reviews all the sudden this past weekend after we posted our honest and truly awful experience with groove u. THEY ALL SAY RECENTLY SUBMITTED AND IN THE LAST WEEK WITH THE SAME WEEKEND DATES!!! These all came in on 1 weekend!!! These reviews were not written over the last couple years but over this past weekend and he contacted all of them to do so and then made his responses look so good like its glamorous or something. Come on please. That is sad to do that to make yourself look better with fake reviews, because you cant handle someone's true honest experience with your school...

I have produced several professional projects at groove outside of the classes, it was always awesome for me to come into the building and feel the buzz of the students learning, gaining real world experience. The owner had personally helped my own career more than I even have to give back in return and the staff are all incredible in their own way.

I started working at GROOVE U in the fall of 2012,...

I started working at GROOVE U in the fall of 2012, alongside the inaugural class of students. The thing that strikes me the most about this program is the dedication to the success of each individual student. I saw this demonstrated time and time again. It first starts during the admission process. Each prospective student meets with the founder/director, who knows right away if GROOVE U is a good match for the student. And then there were the countless times when students had personal issues or special circumstances, and I saw GROOVE U staff and faculty go above and beyond to accommodate students, and give them second (or even third) chances. That kind of individualized care and concern does not exist at other colleges and universities. At GROOVE U, the student comes first. The other thing I will say is that I value the relationships I made with both staff and students. While I left GROOVE U to start my own consulting business, I still meet up with graduates, staff and students to grab a cup of coffee or a bite to eat. GROOVE U is certainly is a special place. Consider yourself blessed if you get to be a part of it.

Hands down one of the best choices I've ever made.

If your concerns are being able to get a job, get paid, and have a successful career in the music industry, there isn't much more you could ask for in terms of an education.

They give you real life training with real life Industry professionals. Like seriously I work with some of my old teachers...

It's an excellent college that fills itself with excellent people. Students and faculty alike.

Full disclosure: I am not a student, parent, or a teacher at Groove U. But I do know the operators, and they are as ethical, competent and fair as anyone you will meet. I ve personally known the owner since grade school. He is honest and fair in his dealings. His word and handshake is as good as any legally binding contract. I would put my family s safety in his hands without reservation and would stake my reputation on his.

Groove U is the dream school for high school gradu...

Groove U is the dream school for high school graduates who love music, but aren't sure what to do with it. The music industry has changed. Groove U was founded on untraditional principles that align to these changes, which also make it different than traditional institutions. In music, different is good. At Groove U, difference is effective.

In less than three years, Groove U has changed the lives of dozens of young creatives. I think the program's success is rooted in their focus on each student's passions, skills, and strengths, which help the faculty and leadership understand the student's desires and capabilities when it comes time for job placement. This interpersonal development that prepares students for long term success in life and the music industry, might otherwise be missed in traditional, high-ratio classroom settings. On the contrary, the cultural opportunity and intimate learning environment that Groove U provides, helps students learn "vibe" before they go on to create it and sell it in music.

Overall, I'm glad Columbus has a music institution that teaches students to be different, to value-create, and to not only join, but change the music industry.
