Zoo is beautiful . Only problem is the parking , had to go back once since there was no space for parking at all. Next time came around 11 am was surprised to see even on tat day parking was full. Was really disappointed finally did paid parking opp to the zoo . I really wonder if all the cars parked near the zoo really belong to the zoo visitors or people who come to watch Hermann Park or places nearby . There should be some measure to check the same so zoo visitors won t struggle much .

The Houston Zoo is always great and we had a great time with our grandchildren

So beautiful! A little confusing at times, maps are not really specific, buy we had so much fun! We went early so it was cool, and we were leaving about the time all the school busses and other families were arriving.

The dinosaurs exhibit was really neat!!! I wish it had been longer :( . Our son loved the dinosaurs! We did too. The staff is great. We actually got a mini tour from one of the staff members who walked us over to the dinosaur exhibit, i thought that was AMAZING. Our son paid close attention and learned so much!! (3 days after the zoo visit he pointed out elephant ears plants while out and about, the tour guide taught him that days earlier!! )Overall, it was a very nice trip. We all had a great time.

I'm not a fan of zoo's mainly because the animals seem so sad, but having a chance to hear stories from the staff member that gave us the mini tour gave me the opportunity to reconsider and learn.

Would love to get more tours to get to know the animals and their quirky personalities. Considering a membership.

Another nice place to enjoy time with your friends and your family. It's a nice layout and whoever designed it did an extremely good job with the landscaping as well as the placement and choice of animals. Only suggestion I would make is to go early or late if you go during the summer months.

Not really impressed and the entrance fee was a bit high

There was a wide variety of animals. The Chill areas were great. The animal spacing was good for people bunching up and signs pointing to the different exhibits were very helpful.

Played out!! Nothing New Always the same BS, they need to change it up a Bit before The Zoo goes Extinct!!

Not enough resting places like benches and tables. During events like the Zoo Lights, the staff are completely disorganized. They allow people to push their way through each other because there are no coordinated lines formed. Most of the people run over each other like they're the animals.

I love the park but honestly didn't enjoy the zoo itself very much. Or maybe it was just bad luck. I didn't get to see much of the animals except notably the gorilla. It was nice. For me it seemed overpriced. Very difficult to find parking too.

Okay so the lights were really cool but certainly not worth 91$ for 4 people. We also didnt know that the military discount does not start till Monday. Half of that cost would have been reasonable for what they had. I think it is over priced. Also get there around six. When we were leaving at 8:30ish the line was almost to the crossing guard by the road. So glad we didnt wait in that huge line. They needed live performers or something and more interesting lights for the price. I have seen better driving through some neighborhoods.

I just love zoos and this one is very nice with room for the animals to roam and climb

Great experience with the kids! I was disappointed in their lack of gluten free options at all of their resturaunts only because it stated online that they did offer them. I spent 45 minutes walking around trying to find something to eat. Had I known that it wasn't an option, I would've brought my own food or eaten beforehand. Other than that it was a great time!

Too many people for the Houston zoo lights on the 23rd. N some had no manners. Not a good way to represent the zoo or Houstonians. The hot cocoa was mediocre. N the carousel guy thought we were stupid, thinking we were just standing in line just because smh.

Lots of fun . Amazing place for families. The Houston Zoo is very clean. Friendly Staff. Lines can get a little long best to show up early.

The Houston zoo is a great place to being your kids, there's always shows and animal feedings, etc going on at certain times, the enclosures are very well kept and the animals are of utmost importance. The food is expensive, but it goes to the cause of keeping great animal enclosures, there are inside and outside tables. There is even an aquarium section along with an indoor rainforest bird exhibit where you are in the same area as the birds are. There is a section dedicated for kids that included a play place, petting zoo, and carousel. There are informative facts in front of about every animal enclosure about the animal and their environment. This is absolutely a great place to go for a trip with the family, a date, or just by yourself.

Great. Took me a whole to find a parking spot but it was a sunny Saturday!

Enjoyed bringing the little animal books to life for our daughter! This place is sprawling, so plan how you want to attack it. We started with all of the African animals, then worked our way around the park. Don't forget your stroller, the price you'll pay for one there is pretty high.

Beautiful.... loved it! Animals are healthy, stimulated and enclosures are neat and taken care of. One can see they love those animals. Well done!

Great animals , clean , nice staff who love the animals

The zoo closed 20 mins after we drove for 2 hrs to get here. Our 2 kids were crying all the way home.

Nice temperature, after heavy rain. The animals were inside their cage most of them. Nice and relaxing with little people around.

Zoo was really nice today. They had different activities for the kids to do. Kids could wear their costumes.

Beautiful place! Lots of shade, animals well taken care of and employees very friendly.

We had a really good time. They were doing some renovations and getting prepped for the Christmas light show. We will return in December to check it out. Yearly membership is worth it if you go twice. Working in the refineries got me 30% off so it def made it worth it.

Loving all the remodeling that was done. More to see and more to do.

Had a blast! Very clean. Staff abundant and friendly. Many animals out of their enclosures for patrons to view. Great way to spend the day!

The zoo was clean & the staff was friendly. Only downside was that all of the cafes & shops closed down at 4:45, without notice. The animals appeared happy in their beautiful homes.

It is an excellent zoo when it is fully opened. We went there today and I was very disappointed. More than half of zoo is closed for reconstruction.
All left is the area of big animal, actually very small area. Besides that we had to follow paths where we were directed. Lots of paths were simply closed. We had a hard time to find the way out because it was not allowed to use the same way as we came. So we made couple of circles before nice lady security helped us to get out using the forbidden way( my has and has a health problem, was very tired too and we had a grandson with us) I was very thankful to her.
Price was as usual for zoo. So I think it is not really worth it. Virus makes it even more problematic. Not easy to find water and better to carry it with you.

My daughters love the zoo but my wife and I hate the parking situation. Unless you come in early in the morning it will be super difficult to find a parking spot.

The zoo is very nice beru clean and the people were very friendly.

Great zoo, best time to go is during the week! Went on Wednesday and we had the zoo practically to ourselves!

The weather was great. Make sure you get a pamphlet to find animals of your interest. You are allowed to bring bottles of water this will save you time and money.

Lovely zoo. Plenty of animals and neat corners all over the place. We love all the chill out zones available everywhere. Excited for the completion of the new wetlands area. Food and drinks are pricey and parking IA always a pickle but still 5 stars.

Elephant enclosure is awesome. You can see them up real close. Good place to take the kids to let them run around.

Houston Zoo is a very well maintained and efficiently organised place.
The kids in our family love to visit the zoo as the family outings.
They get to have so many fun activities.
They love to see the various species present there .
It is a good place for family outings.

One of the world s best zoos. There are a ton of different animal experiences and lots of things to see and do. With your admission you can also purchase carousel and train ride tickets. If you come to Houston it is a must-do.

Other than finding a parking spot the zoo was great. Not too crowded and a lot to see.

Fun zoo, on a hot day. The animals were active and most were visible which is always nice. Price wasn't to bad, left our home zoo membership pass so didn't get the discount but luckily it was only 2 of us.

Always a great place (still) to take the kids. Very clean facilty and friendly staff. We always have a great time seeing the animals. Some that we have seen grow up over many years.

We've been coming to this zoo for 30 years. It just keeps getting better and better. Now we take the grandkid

Great weather, great day at the Zoo. Glad we got our new season passes today. We used our AISD district discount for a year of unlimited visits of fun and the ability to help the animals during this next year. The only way to go!!!

Bought the family plan and with all the upgrades, we'll be coming back again and again.

It's an OK place to go. They have a splash pad for the kids, which is cool, but I feel like I've been looking at the same exhibits now with my children as I saw when I was a child 32+ years ago

Very disappointing experience. Paying full price for tickets where more than half of the Zoo was closed. I paid $15 for 2 medium cokes and a kids coke and than you couldn t even get a refill for the kids without paying $1.08. The whole experience was basically a scam for your money.

Great place for kids to explore wild life animals and get to know their natural habitats.

This place is always great fun its clean the staff are always friendly and it always has something for everyone

I always love going to the zoo. We have a membership so I can take my 2 year old often. Our favorite part is feeding the giraffes. The elephant exhibit, primates and gorillas are some of our favorite areas. Splash pad and petting zoo great for little ones. Also love feeding all the ducks and birds in front of the zoo at McGovern lake.

Amazing! Pretty busy but the exhibits are cool and the kids had a blast!

Always love a good Zoo to attend. Lot's of animals and I think the elephant splashed water on an on-looker haha, that alone is 5 stars for the hilarity.

A large, amazing zoo that kept my children's interest and mine as well. Very clean!

My son loved it there, it was pretty hot but he couldn't get enough of all the kinds of species.

One of my favorite zoos I ve been to. From a visitor s perspective, the animals seemed to be treated well.

Zoo lights are fun but IMO not worth 25 a ticket. Members only get 3 off. Super crowded. It s okay!

It's an awesome place for people of all ages, and especially kids. The new elephant exhibit allows you to be very close to the elephants. The price for admission is too high but otherwise good place for a day visit.

Had a great time with my family. But I got there at 2 and they closed at 4 not sure why on a Saturday. Check hours ahead of time just in case I guess.

So many animals. Clean, fairly easy to navigate, with many indoor stops to cool off in. Best visited from October to April though, to avoid crowds and the excessive Houston heat.

Zoo lights could have been better, but we enjoy the actual zoo. As always though, never enough vendors for drinks/snacks.

Its a great place to hang out and learn. Although it could use more enclosures and exhibits instead of making more playgrounds. The cheetah should have a larger cage as well. Overall one of my favorite places in Houston.

Amazing!!!! Hadn't been to the in ages, and this place is amazing and it's very clean! Will be coming back again this summer. My 3 year old loved it as well!

I've been going to the Houston Zoo for nearly 43 years and I've never had an issue. Great environment and friendly staff. Great place for family fun.

Dinosaur exhibit was neat. The zoo is clean and fun with lots of cooling stations.

Friendly and helpful staff. All the animals were out and everything was perfect. We all had a wonderful experience. The gorilla exhibit is beyond amazing. They have so much to learn from. It s a beautiful and clean place. Great place to take your family.

I love the Houston zoo. I love the giraffe there my favorite animal.I also like the layout of the zoo.

Love taking a pleasure walk under shaded big trees and covered pathways in this beautiful zoo and get to seeing a variety of outdoor animals in lots of shade. There are animal exhibits giving a close view and nice picture taking. Besides, one of the main attraction is the Gorillas in their natural habitat which gives me an eye-opening delightful experiences.

We had fun, despite all Covid-19 precautions. Spent about 4 to 5 hours there. Saw most of the animals except for those hiding from the heat and a few whose exhibits were closed. Kids (almost 4 and a 5 year old) had fun. Enjoyed it.

Parking can be difficult but the zoo has great experience for all ages and lots of learning opportunities. They like to provide themed exhibits surrounding the animals.

Great zoo, beautiful grounds, so much to see. The holiday lights were...unique, but still really cool to see. Great for family and for dates!
