I called because I need help with rent and was suggested by 211, they told me that they don't help with homeless people or people who need help with rent. Their website is misleading and was a waste of my time trying to ask them for help. Don't bother with these people

This place is a God send. I was expecting a ton of anxiety due to being behind on my bills. Monica has been a tremendous help for my family and I during this pandemic hardship. She was able to assist us with finding the help we needed during these difficult times. Thank you for all you do.

These classes are amazing. I took both the homebuyer class and the financial education class and both are very informative and helped me understand A LOT more than what I would've known when buying a house.

I called to ask some questions about my apartment complex i just moved out of. Was basically told that because im behind on rent theres nothing they can do for the massively unhealthy living conditions. I was just trying to see what i could do & the gentleman, Joe, was very very rude. I immediately felt like I wanted to hang up the phone because i didnt call to be lectured in such a negative way. I didnt even get to finish my sentence before but what does that have to do with what you were just talking about?? was said & i felt like what i was saying was just thrown out the window. The whole phone call was a waist of time.

I attended the Home Buyer's Pre-Purchase Education class and it was a huge eye opener for me. I would highly recommend it for any first time buyer. The instructor (Neil) was engaging and the guest speakers provided a lot of valuable nuggets for people shopping for homes.

A non helpful non profit organization. Don't even waste your time. They have a tight criteria on energy assistance. Because I made 2 lump sum payments and had credits for 3 out of the 6 mo I was denied because it wasnt 3 separate payments. They get this funding yet keep half of it by denying others with garbage and low ball stipulations as such. People deserve better than that especially if you have paid out your tax dollars and fall into a crisis and yet cannot receive help. If an organization isn't doing the most to help the people coming to them then it no longer should be a existing non profit organization. A lot of time wasted hopes lifted for nothing. It's not like you are playing a lottery these decisions actually have life impact. Please do not respond with the general call us because like you said there's nothing you can do which is a shame in the organization within of itself

I was given this number by OPPD for a disconnection notice. I left a voicemail on 8/13. I received a call back on 8/19 saying I needed to email personal documents and I d hear back within 48 hrs. I did that as soon as we hung up.
No follow up, so I emailed on 8/25 to check the status. I received a call 8/31 wanting to start an application. Excuse me, but who has my social security card and drivers license and bank statement that I ve already emailed?
Also, tomorrow will be 3 weeks that I started this process. No utility company is going to give you that long of an extension.

UPDATE: I did finally get a phone call from Sharena (sp?). She was very helpful and showed a lot of compassion for my situation. I really appreciate all of her help.

My husband and I recently took the pre purchase class given by Neil and got a chance to sit down and talk about pretty much everything. From our credit, to the home buying process. We really had no idea what we're getting into but I appreciate Neil so much for all of his patience and help. He really seems to want the absolute best for those who come through his office. Needless to say, I was worried and scared at first, but after all the information given to us, I can not wait to finally be a home owner.
